I mean, Don Corneo blatantly engages in kidnapping, sexual assault, and sex trafficking, so that’s an underlying theme here

Cloud’s personal meeting with Madam M is super suggestive and uncomfortable, especially if you choose the ‘luxury’ option, but there’s nothing actually sexual

lots of catcalling throughout Wall Market once Aerith gets dressed up

drugging (dressed up!Cloud and Aerith get gassed to unconsciousness)

one of the Don’s lackeys strongly implies wanting to assault them while unconscious but is prevented from actually doing so

I didn’t catch much transphobic commentary, however. When Cloud changes back into his uniform, Don Corneo says, “You’re a man,” and then simply keeps talking - it doesn’t seem to faze him much and he doesn’t say anything else about it. If you talk to certain key NPCs while Cloud is dressed up but before entering the mansion, the only comments are about whether or not he can do squats or fight “in that getup,” but otherwise everyone except Cloud himself seems to take Cloud’s presentation in stride. Cloud is pretty uncomfortable. Tifa laughs a bit but gets over it quickly.

I also didn’t catch any overt stigma against sex workers, surprisingly.

19) Are there any stories that you’ve written that you’d really love to do a sequel to?

Yeah actually! More than one so I’ll say basically the category of fics where people were confessing feelings for each other (and/or Doing It) for the first time, or there were just buckets of UST that were never dealt with. Specific callouts for First and Last and Always (which I’m kinda sorta working on the sequel to, finally telling how Imani, Garrus and Thane became a triad), Pygmalion’s Hand (Imani/Miranda UST), and Under Pressure (aka the Kaidan/Thane smut). I never want to just leave fics like that as one shots, I always want to follow up with sappy relationship processing and/or more smut haha. As usual I have more ideas than time or spoons though.

21) Tell me about another writer(s) who you admire? What is it about them that you admire?

It’s probably cheating to say Dandy but goddamnit I’m gonna say Dandy because she singlehandedly made me not only stop hating Varian Wrynn and Garrosh Hellscream but made me fall hopelessly in love with them and ship whole ass OCs with them. She just has this Gift for taking characters who are treated badly in Blizz lore. She’s even done this with whole races, like the Gnomes. She’s basically In Charge of the Alliance stuff in what has become our shared ‘verse at this point, not just because I can’t be bothered and have no investment in them (and I really don’t lol except the draenei) but because she just does it so well and everything she writes I just make grabbyhands at. 

She also has this really evocative way of writing, like this thing she never actually posted with Seymour from FFX confronting Guildenstern from Vagrant Story in a different massive FF/Squeenix based crossover universe I created and just the way she wrote Seymour summoning Anima was lush and beautiful and utterly terrifying.

SO. Yes I must gush about my girlfriend because she is awesome and really needs to write more and I will encourage it whenever possible because HOLY SHIT. and she inspires me every time.

*oops also 49) Can you remember the first fic you read? What was it about?

I 100% remember the fandom and the pairing but not the details. It was Highlander and specifically Duncan/Methos h/c fic. from a listserv i had lied about my age to get on, lmao. I was way too young to really understand it (it wasn’t smutty; I was 13 and sort of naive and afraid of smut) but it sucked me in and I was like…I needed this. I didn’t even know what gay was at the time bc I was so fucking sheltered but it resonated so hard with me and I was like. a lightbulb went off over my head and I think part of that was me relating to the gay in ways I wasn’t quite conscious of at the time.
