This is such a surreal moment. If you would have told this project baby at the age of 9 that he would one day go to jail for 5 years, come home hating authority, be loved and cared for by his village, win awards for his work in media, advocate for children, educators, and formally incarcerated, run several successful businesses, have kids, marry an uptown girl, and one day run for public office… I would’ve told you that you were crazy…. Well, God saw different! Waiting is not easy... especially when hope seems far off. Sometimes you have to tie a knot to the end of the rope and just hang on. Change will inevitably come. You asked God to make you stronger, draw you closer and increase your faith, right? Well beloved, these are the times that try the soul, and strengthen your core resolve. These are the times when your strength is being made perfect... Times meant to increase your faith and restore light to eyes that are growing dim. #TheStruggleIsReal for all of us.
