Today was an escape sort of day, sometimes you just need to disappear from your life for a while. This was about a kilometre, and had wonderful flora. Good place to sit and breath for awhile.

On an unrelated note, travelling has taken a backseat for now, only short trips for awhile, due to unforeseen circumstances.

“There’s lots of acting for David and Catherine in this episode,” says Tom. “And they’re also playing different versions of themselves as well, which is really cool.” “It’s not straightforward, distinguishing between the actual Doctor and the not-thing Doctor,” David explains, “because there are scenes where the gag is that as an audience you’re deceived. So you have to play that as the Doctor, you can’t give anything away otherwise you’re undermining it. Also, the logic is they’re developing very quickly so they’re not going to be the same from scene to scene. In some ways, that’s quite liberating because you can just select whatever is most effective in that moment either to deceive the audience or to creep people out.” “There’s something soulless about the bad versions,” considers Tom [Kingsley, director of Wild Blue Yonder]. “All the life that David and Catherine bring to these characters, they subtly turn that down.” Catherine says that, for her, the most challenging part of the episode is “Holding two conversations in your head at the same time.” “Yeah,” agrees David, “we have to learn the lines twice. I don’t actually have any lines today though. I’m literally just running in straight lines. Running on the travelators is going to be an added challenge though.”

Happy N7 day, friends! Despite being stuck in an emotional rut due to *gestures at everything going on*, I am set on joining today's celebrations the best I can. Even busted out the ole N7 sweater for the occasion.

My personal take on Patrochilles is that they are both lovers AND friends. You know how a relationship often starts with a friendship first??? Well they never grew out of the friendship part of their relationship. But their relationship is neither romantic nor platonic. They just,,, are. There was never strictly a time where they stopped being platonic and started being romantic - the lines of the nature of their relationship are really blurry - as they grew older they just started displaying affection in different ways. There was never a need to put a label on their relationship. Because like,, why have Achilles lose just a friend or just a lover - when he could lose a lover, a friend, a best friend, a brother, a comrade, a partner-in-crime ALL in one??? Really drives home the idea of Achilles' grief and rage - he literally lost the man who was everything to him.

v funny that one of the various side effects of the pre-taped episodes is that previously we got the occasional live tweets and reactions from the cast, knowing they were directly experiencing (and reeling from) the shock and drama we were witnessing. vs now where they can't live tweet it anymore, but they HAVE been gifted the ability to rattle all of us to our core with a single tweet, having already had some time to process it and perhaps even know what happens after.
