Okay. Okay. Okay. But- Aziraphale saying “I forgive you” to Crowley and him responding with “don’t bother”, when Aziraphale has used that phrase in the past to convey, “you’re wrong”. The “don’t bother” resonating so much like “unforgivable, that’s what I am” from season one, conveying something very painfully much like, “don’t go forgiving me when I haven’t done anything wrong. I’m not apologizing.”
The way that Crowley refuses to apologize for questioning heaven is the same way he refuses to apologize for loving Aziraphale- I’m not sorry, and don’t you dare think that I am.

Wait I’m just realizing how funny it is that springtrap/ William and all his variations see an unhappy child with brown hair, brown eyes and striped shirt and immediately goes … yes I must have him as my own like 🧍‍♂️

It’s so rare for a game to give us a canon older character romance option (who looks their age) and I’m so damn ready.

The urge to kidnap her & rape her in the woods. Chained against a tree & split open on my cock. The screams in pain drowning out all the pathetic cries for help. Carving our initials inside of a heart on, “our” tree afterwards so everyone knows what a sweet couple we are. 🔪🌹

No but holy shit the implications of “I think there is someone he likes, because he has been acting… weird.”
Just imagine El’s confusion over her brother. California is obviously not that great for the Byers. In that very intro scene, we see El making her diorama (which, as sweet and lovely as it is, it ends up getting nothing but ridicule in school), Joyce getting frustrated with a client, Jonathan hurriedly hiding the fact that he’s smoking weed; things are not picture perfect. But Will? Will’s in his own world, in a dreamland of his own, holding to his friends and his life back home by painting it with a focused and tender look in his eyes.
Tumblr media
While everyone at home openly struggles with something, our first glimpse of Will this season is something precious and untainted, a struggle that doesn’t develop until much later when he chooses to face his feelings.
We never see Will acting, quote, “weird.” Will has never really been a character that we see out loud. It all lies underneath. It always has. And when I think about that underlying struggle and yet deep fondness, it just. God, it breaks me.
Imagine Will months prior, starting up this project. He picks out a giant canvas, a page that covers his entire easel. Maybe this is his first time using paint as his medium. Maybe not. But whatever the weather, it’s bigger than anything we’ve ever seen him craft. Ever.
Imagine El’s excitement. She learns that Will is a great artist, and she knows it the minute he shows her a single piece. After that, she’s interested in his art, and yet… it’s at the worst time, because he doesn’t let her into his room, anymore. But she knows that he’s working on his easel day in and day out. The minute he’s home from school, he’s playing music, painting again. Maybe he throws out one or two torn-up drafts. Maybe he skips dinner over it. Maybe he ends up so tired that he’s fallen asleep with paint on his face and doesn’t even know it until she points it out.
She’s impressed and she wants to see what he’s doing, especially because he seems so passionate about it all the time, but he never lets her. He bites his lip and shakes his head. He guards it with his very life. And El is left wondering what has him acting so secretive. So nervous. What is the emotion, where is the energy coming from?
It’s out of place. It’s weird when moving to California isn’t as fun as whatever is on that canvas’ face.
So it must be love. Of course it is. Of course it’s for someone, some girl. What else could it be? What else would make Will seem that out of place, seem that… crazy?
And for all of it to be happening upward of six entire months? That painting didn’t take a day or two, I mean, look at it. It must’ve taken him weeks to get in every detail.
Tumblr media
And all of it. Every little smile. Every dreaming thought. Every ounce of passion. Everything. Was because of Mike.
God.
God.

[Gale Cleven] was set to leave for the States on the eighth of May. The men resolved that they had to give him something to take back with him, something from them. From the Squadron. They rustled around the shops of Bury St. Edmunds and Ipswich and finally they got what they wanted. One night they lured him into coming up into Barracks 9. When he entered he found that most of the old crowd had assembled in the packed barracks. Larry Bowa, who knew him probably the best of anyone there, made his speech. They led him over to uncover the silver service they had pooled their pounds to buy. It was a beauty and on the bottom they had had engraved the words
"To Gale W. Cleven from the 350th Bomb Squadron."

They had something else for him, too. A chromatic watch. They almost didn't get the chance to give it to him. Cleven stood there, looking down at the silver service, trying not to let it come. But come it did anyway. He turned around and he was crying—not just tears in the eyes—but crying right out! He tried to grin.
"I'm just a baby," he said thickly and stumbled out of the barracks into the night. The men looked at each other helplessly. There's something terrible about a man's tears. Even tears of joy. They stood silently and felt helpless in the middle of the barracks and didn't know what to do next. Finally someone came to and they cautiously decided to give the Major his watch, too, and get it all over with. Then, they figured, he could have a good cry. So someone went out—I think it was his "little chum," Major Varian—and got hold of him and brought him back. They gave him the watch. He couldn't say anything. Just stood there with his watch in his hand, looking dumbly grateful. He turned and fled the barracks, going down the road in the drizzle alone, without a raincoat. He was gone for hours.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom was released one year ago today!
Even though I’ve dedicated at least 235 hours of my life to playing it, I’ve never shared the screenshots I took, so here are 30 pictures from my Sheikah Slate’s album (in chronological order):

I think Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett must have planned originally for Aziraphale to be involved up in Heaven leading up to when the Second Coming starts, or whatever actually happens in s3. Gaiman’s said he wrote s2 as a bridge to get them to the events of the sequel they’d plotted — and he spends most of it showing us again how they love each other and the world, how close they are to a truly shared life. And then he splits them. It feels like such a shock.
And he said he and Finnemore didn’t know till quite late how to write that bit. So I think that that must have been the decades-old plan. And s6 must have been the only way he could imagine it happening — the only way Aziraphale would ever leave Crowley to rejoin Heaven after everything — only if they promised to welcome Crowley and to offer Aziraphale the power to preserve the world. (Lie that that was.)
So in the end I’m guessing that, since it’s only a second installment/interlude instead of the entire sequel Pratchett and Gaiman envisioned (which would end happily), that’s why they made Crowley confess at the end of this season — so we had one hopeful thing amid the shock. At least we could imagine the eventual happy ending, the finally-together-after-all. It would have been an entirely different kind of crushing if Crowley hadn’t spoken — if he’d broken his heart over Aziraphale leaving in utter silence. That would have done me in. As it is I’m only mostly dead.

I just watch Boom! I think my life is forever changed wowwww that was so good
here’s my footnotes as per usual:
spoilers! Read at your own risk!!
the acting in this episode was phenomenal
if you weren’t convinced that ncuti was a great doctor before, this episode will do it for you
in the poem he recites to calm himself there’s a line that goes “don’t you know there’s more to life than the presidents wife and the moon”
the second time that has been referenced in nuwho (first being Missy talking to Clara about the dr)
is this a real canon event?? I need to look into this lmao
ruby Sunday also shone in this episode!! My girl I love her to bits, she’s so so brave and no nonsense.
taking away “the one who runs” ability to run away was a BRILLIANT idea
say what you will about moffat (and I’ll agree) but damnn can he write, under rtd especially
welcome back anti-capitalist messaging in dw!!! Missed you babes
fish fingers and custard reference in 2024??????
also STOP taunting me with the master (“can you write a song with drums?”)

Anyway, best episode of the season so far, no notes 10/10 ⭐️
