Organized some of my Pop collection, and set aside a few to sell. Really like being able to see what I have, and having thrm grouped together. Left to right: Amazon Avengers diorama; Wonder Woman and other DC; miscellaneous Avengers; My Hero Academia; Steve and Bucky; Lilo and Stitch; Civil War; Captain Marvel. Still need to organize more of my custom Pops. And this is only a portion of my collection, which started in 2014 with Agent Coulson, then the core 4 Pops from Winter Soldier. I'm not really a box collector. A number of my Pops have damaged boxes. Announcing Your Place in the World of Things is a canon-verse, Soulmate Goose AU. And Basically writing it was a big game of if I change this one thing (some people having soulmate geese), this one kind of kooky thing, what changes and what stays the same?

And, honestly, I was surprised by how much stayed the same! A lot of the reasoning changes, but Andy's still depressed and self-medicating with alcohol, Booker is still sad and lonely. And Booker still goes through with betraying the team: realizing that he has found his soulmate in Nile, doesn't erase all the years of pain and suffering and waiting.

Creating the goose characters was a ton of fun! I learned a lot about geese in the process and decided that all of the soulmate geese needed to be wild species. It felt kind of icky to me if, like, humans had bred or created soulmate geese. I think it's a much more fabulously weird world if humans and geese evolved this interdependence naturally!

Also, geese are not sexually dimorphic, which means that males and females are indistinguishable on sight. Even though the geese and their humans are different genders in the fic, I did some thinking about soulmate geese and trans people and these thoughts are in the epilogue's author's note and you should definitely check them out.

I also love love love the epilogue for this fic: it was an excuse to write stupidly in love and domestic Book of Nile and it makes my heart happy.
