At this age he still has dreams, like most children do. Sometimes he imagines himself as a hero who fights for justice, like Red Eagle, and runs around the house with a towel for a cape.

“My little hero,” Goro’s mom teases him, as he is posing in the living room to gallant fanfare from the TV. The endearment makes him puff out his chest with pride, grinning from ear to ear—but then she holds up the carrot she’s peeling and continues with a smile, “You know, good heroes eat their vegetables so they can grow big and strong...”

That makes Goro pout. “Then I’ll be the first hero who never ate a vegetable!” he announces, crossing his arms over his chest.

“Oh, really?” His mom laughs, going back to her peeling. “Well, in that case—you can be a hero for now, but I want Goro back in time for dinner, okay?”

Giggling, Goro sticks his tongue out at her playfully.

“If I see Goro, I’ll let him know!” he calls, then dashes off down the hall, “cape” fluttering behind him.

  Goro remembers his childhood with his mother.

I don’t get akeshu / shuake at all.

Like I get it from a typical “fandom loves the enemies to lovers trope” perspective but in all honesty I don’t get the insane brainrot the persona 5 fandom has for this ship.

Like do I think Joker cares for Akechi? Yes.

Do I think he was genuinely conflicted/tempted by Maruki’s ultimatum? Yes.

Do I think they have a genuine relationship and see a lot of themselves in each other and actually somewhat understand each other? Yes.

That being said, I really don’t see how anyone can look past the fact that Akechi tried to kill Joker. And okie fine enemies to lovers, fandom’s favorite ship aside, I don’t see how Joker can actually want a full on relationship (like romantic) with this dude when Futaba, Sojiro, and Haru are like right there?

This may just be me but I reallllllllly wouldn’t be friends with someone who is friends (hell forget even in a romantic relationship) with someone who horribly hurt me.

And I don’t think Joker loves Akechi more than Futaba, Sojiro, or Haru. Especially Sojiro and Futaba. Those two are like his family, and Akechi is responsible for their suffering.

Like… it’s kind of one or the other. Joker can’t be friends/dating Akechi without horribly betraying Futaba, Sojiro, and Haru. That’s just how I see it (but I’m open to hearing other perspectives!)

Shuake Day 1: Hobbies (yes I know it’s day 6)

I have had this idea rattling around for awhile, because every time I see/think about Edgeworth, he’s so similar to Akechi I just can’t help but love him. So yeah, I think Joker would (in ways) relate to Phoenix, and Akechi certainly would relate to Edgeworth. Man, I bet Joker would have a crush on Edgeworth just from the similarities. (also he’s a pretty boy like Akechi) Also, in a modern au no personas, I feel like Akechi would have become a prosecutor and maybe Joker a defense attorney to stop others from false accusations like he had. I could ramble forever! Anyways happy Shuake week 2024!
