I have been beating this drum for awhile. I know a lot of Turkish people and if my favorite tyrant wasn’t modeled on a Turkish man I’ll eat my damn hat.

I draw him kind of a lot (it’s a sickness) and I have spent an inordinate amount of time staring at his face. He’s craggy to be sure, with wrinkles, some acne scars, and a face full of smaller scars you can only see up close. He’s very angular and lighting means a lot to his attractiveness. He had a “dirt” filter on him but he’s not the only character who has it. Mostly he looks dark— dark eyes, dark hair, and dark skin. With the eyeliner and the mop of hair he looks even darker. And unfortunately, looking “dark” still has a stigma on it.

Anyway here’s a spam of pics with different angles and lighting (I took none of these I swiped them from the internet to add to my collection for … personal use.)

sometimes i think about how people often call Gortash “ugly” or “dirty” and i think maybe why it bothers me is.., he has facial features that don’t read as stereotypically white

Even with the people who do love gortash, i’ve seen a lot of art where his skin is lighter and his jaw is sharper and his nose is smaller

and maybe i’m completely misreading the situation or am being too sensitive but something about him being called dirty feels a little uncomfortable. i mean ketheric is basically a corpse and orin bathes in blood but i don’t see that stuff being said about them.

I had a dream last night where tumblr invented a new way of enjoying a character, called making them your “Gort”

A Gort was a small ceramic bowl, plate, or cup that you can make to resemble a charcater you are attached to, and then proceed to treat the pottery itself as if it’s a parental figure to you.

in the dream, there was some Disgorts (Gort Discourse) around how ethical it was to have more than one Gort, have Gort of real-life people, etc. At one point, somebody got Gortdoxxed (doxxed over disgorts) because they owned a Gort of the narrator from The Stanley Parable, and marlin from Finding Nemo. (Someone thought it was unethical of them to have more than one Gort at any given time)

I honestly don’t care about the rat diet comment and my favorite ship (no Tav/durge) is bloodpact but whenever rat diet discourse comes up I come back to:

Astarion: Marriage Wyll? I thought you’d have learned by now to not be trapped by devious contracts.

Wyll: I was going to invite you to the wedding, but I’m having second thoughts.

Like. I get most people won’t get this because they would have to romance Wyll. But holy shit. Imagine the vitriol if Wyll said “Haha Cazador seems cool would love to hang with him haha finger guns,” holy shit the fandom would crucify him.

it’s just lame. Their dynamic is teasing each other a lot of the time. And Astarion says out of pocket shit things to companions all the time (the Karach/Gort line comes to mind).

maybe I’ve played the game too much, or maybe I just am not woobifying him. But the rat diet line is so. So fucking stupid to be picked up and ripped apart all the time, and that person whose said they’ve never seen it is incredibly lucky I suppose, because I’ve seen it discussed on here, on Reddit, and on IG to disparage Wyll.

tommy is. uh.. how do i say "i love him like a son" without sounding cringe and parasocial? obviously, i don't know the guy personally, but watching him grow and change throughout the years really makes me feel like a proud parent. especially after seeing the survival tour oh my GORT!!! he's just so silly and passionate and i have to beat him to death with a bat (it’s cuteness aggression).

he's definitely a little off putting too, and while i do think it's a product of the "becoming famous at 16" effect (like you said), i also think it's because of quarantine. growing up in an isolated condition probably stunted his social skills. and being in the mcyt sphere definitely doesn't help, considering that none of us are normal here.

now onto schlatt!!!

people like schlatt have been in my life for as long as i can remember, so i feel like it's only natural that i'd be drawn to his content and personality. (i was also surrounded by conservative christians, and when i was a kid, most of my friends were weird nerds with homosexual tendencies that also thought "offensive humor" was the pinnacle of comedy.) we also seem to have weirdly similar childhoods, and it kinda freaks me out sometimes because holy fuck??? he actually feels like someone i could've been best friends with in middle school it's so scary. im not even trying to be parasocial, he just genuinely just sounds like a guy i could've known. like a culmination of all the guys i've ever been friends with. i need to drone strike his house.

despite the confident way schlatt carries himself, i think the 10 layers of irony he wears is a shield from emotional vulnerability. he doesn't seem to deal with it well, and because of that, he doesn't address any discourse. not only does he not give a fuck, participating in discourse is inherently emotional. i don't think he's a bad guy for avoiding emotional issues, i just think he just needs to grow a spine and face his shit rather than ignore his problems until they go away. the only time he allows himself to get emotional is when he's in a controlled environment like theweeklyslap, and i highly doubt he'd bring any discussions of discourse there.

i do genuinely love his content tho. i'm the complete opposite of you lol i fucking HEART making skits and editing videos, so whenever schlatt makes beautiful, thoughtful, well edited videos rather than react slop, i go yippee yay yay yay and i smile really wide :3

I find both of them so interesting like their personalities r so. Intriguing to me?!?!?!. Tommy is just a very charismatic and lovely bloke like how can you hate him. look at him. Hmmm agreed. I write about him a lot lately but if I describe him as greasy or whatever I mean his personality. (Don’t read my most recent scenes with him; they're not flattering. I am using him as a sym(pathetic) villain 😅) Personality I think Enver (yes my Tav calls him Enver lol) is fully hot and I'm just sure that he smells fantastic.
