Spoilers for bg3 [Wyll!romance, durge!PT]; Details Below.

So, I'm undecided if I should have Kaeliana [my durgewyll PT/Tav] a) take the deal with Gortash and become an Oathbreaker. OR b) save Ulder Ravengard for her boo thang [after breaking the pact with Mizora].

On the one hand, for all Kae does want power she has been fairly [sorta] mindful of her oath/being a Paladin. It is basically the only thing that is HERS and she remembers. And I don't know if I want that for her, BUT I think the path of using the darkness in you/doing bad things for a 'good' ending/result fits her [ie, my only tadpole consuming Tav]. I also want to see the fuss between DurgeTash [It's been kind of disappointing so far? Is it fandom hyping it up or does good shit happen?]

As for Wyll, well she is Team Let Ulder Die [because this fits her get the cake and eat it too dreams: Having her prince charming and having influence/power]. And I know [I believe?] apparently he will die anyway [fuck you Mizora]. BUT I hear you get a quest with him alive that gives good lore [I'm assuming with Wyll. I hear you CAN do it if he dies, but it is BETTER if he lives].

I mean I have other PTs and other characters who would easily say fuck you Gortash. [I MAY do another durge!PT in the future] But I only have one durgewyllmance.

tl:dr: I guess it's a three part poll:

Take Gortash's deal and become an oathbreaker

Don't take Gortash's deal [forever considering it] but don't save Ulder

Save Ulder and lose the deal

So, make my decisions for me please and thanks.

I'm so curious as to how hiyam, lala and ori would fare in the world of bg3. What race, class and subclass what they be and would they be a dark urge or a regular tav? And who would they romance and who would they not stand? 🫣

haha. this is such a tough question. especially since i am not dnd world expert [or whatever is between expert and novice]. so come on the journey wif meeee~~

Hiyam:

Hiyam is someone who cares about appearance and success. She cares about her looks, music, and isn't the most social of people -- though she knows how to flirt.

So I feel she might be an undark being. Maybe half/full-drow or duergar. I'm leaning the latter because it seems that drow society is Intense and I don't feel that such an intense society would actually beget Hiyam, though she would probably fit there after birth. Also duergar are dwarves -- and dwarves are creatures of pride [from what I can see] and can be quite snobbish. Plus the duergar we've met are DICKS.

I can see her being a bard, because music. But also because I feel it would get the same reaction from the duergar society as it got from her parents: WTF.

Duergar value toil above all else. Showing emotions other than grim determination or wrath is frowned on in their culture, but they can sometimes seem joyful when at work. They have the typical dwarven appreciation for order, tradition, and impeccable craftsmanship, but their goods are purely utilitarian, disdaining aesthetic or artistic value.

So I can see her being like the cultural hard-work but being like well I like flash and substance, and everyone was like .... was she dropped in the head? Also, I feel Bard works because Hiyam is a flirt -- and she has the allure of a songstress. She isn't traditionally charismatic but she does draw people. Plus vicious mockery and tasha's hideous laughter is perfect for her lmao. I think College of Valour would work best for her because music tells a tale -- I mean most mine do, but she definitely I feel uses her music to recount her experiences or hint at things. But also to talk about certain things she finds important.

Like her beat was definitely upbeat political popsong in game:

"Try as you might but we're not goin' without a fight." "The people have spoken and our spirits aren't broken." "We're a million awoken hearts. We're a million bright lights." "Yeah, we're a million eternities. You try to break us but we'll always be free."

Alternatively, I think half-orc could work for her as well.

Lala:

I want to say Lala is human. Because off the top of my head, I feel they best fit that sort of whimsical race? But maybe gnome. They would be a fat gnome, lmao

Gnome Cunning: You have an advantage on Intelligence, Wisdom, and Charisma Saving Throws.

I would lean with Forest. Because tho they aren't RECLUSIVE but 1. the speak with animals [which lala would mostly just use to speak with cats] and 2. they do value their quiet and own space. They're not very out to the party [tho they are the one to walk to their own beat]. [Though would deep gnome indulge the love of black and rocker aesthetics~? lmao.]

Also for CLASS. Druid doesn't seem -- from what I've seen about druids though they're nature-y, they seem to be very fixated re: a certain ORDER. I suppose they could be like Integrity and do their own thing. Or a barbearian like Kendis.

Would Bard be a cop out? In another life Lala was a math teacher. So, Wizard lmao. [Though infamous Lala probably should be a bard or at least have a background as entertainer. If they were a bard, I feel they'd be college of Lore.] Tentatively I say Divinity or Transmutation sublcass.

Ori:

Ori is defiinitely human. Or half-elf. Jack of all trade: skilled in all, master of none. I also like the 'belonging' element that hits half-elfs, tho. Especially since Ori is mixed and also trans.

I wish artificer was a thing in BG3. Because Ori liked to make model planes and etc. Still does iin infamous but it was a whole connect thing in another time I played him. I really don't know what he would be.

Hi! I was wondering if the dark urge route is worth playing. I enjoy the customisable tav route, but I've tried to play dark urge origin route and it just feel Yandere simulator Disney channel cartoon villain vibes at last through the first half of act 1. I trust your recs, so I was wondering since one of ur mcs is dark urge if its worth continuing to play this route. 😅

I don't hate it. I feel like I've gotten some really good moments so far playing a redeeming Durge romancing Wyll [when from what I gather the meaty stuff is an evil durge or a redeeming one romancing Astarion]. I'm still early in act three, and from what I gather end of two and three is where we really get into Durge's history. I do admit it can drag on -- not the learning but the getting there.

I feel to have avoided that they should have 1. done better with the memories 2. introduced a certain character in MCs backstory earlier 3. connect mc better to ALL the potential romance routes not just Astarions 4. the pacing -- or maybe pacing isn't the right word, it's sorta disjointed some of the things Durge can do/has done or said and how the characters react.

In retrospect, thinking about your comments actually, maybe it's because I play a non-dragonborn [I hear they are more expressive] but it is SO weird how my Tav is constantly smirking when the narrator speaks about their EhVuhl. It makes me feel like I'm playing BBC Morgana.

I would say I would give the route a 3/5. Maybe a 3.5 but I'm also still asleep and will probably have more thoughts as I wake up but also as I go on. I think a lot of the appeal for me is the RP perspective. The figuring out her motivation and her connections and what it means to her. I mean I do that with all my Tavs. But I sorta like calculating WHY Kaeliana makes the 'wrong' choice and why she doesn't when she does, what drives her, what is her outlook. So I think if you go into it like that, you will find it very enjoyable. But yeah the smirks are annoying.

I do have some problems with the game, but overall it's fun to play. Probably wyll or laezel. Initially I was gonna go for shadowheart bcs I really liked her character design and my tav also hs that similar kind of dry sarcastic sense of humour. But after having her for a while in my party, she got on my nerves real quick. I tried out some races and she almost always had something to say about it. Im not thst far into it and I like astarion but the fact that he can leave ur party if ur character kicks him in the nuts sent me and now I can't take him seriously. I think my tav enjoys messing around with him. I just keep throwing spells at him and reviving him and he hasn't left yet so he's a trooper. 😂

I was playing as a tiefling originally but they kept having stuff to say about them being a tiefling and it got kinda annoying so I changed it to something else. /lh 💀

Playing as a Sorcerer is so much fun I can just make shit explode. Idk how to use astarion though, I just make him throw arrows and hide, he doesn't really do much in fights, but he's funny so I keep him around. I might get rid of shadowheart, but she's also a cleric and provides good heals so idk. She's so fine but she's really got a poll stuck up her ass so idk. Some of the remarks she makes about certain races and some of her actions towards a certain character because they are that race (don't wanna spoil it) just kind of put me off especially with her being white. I'm aware it's fantasy and stuff and I haven't finished the story, but anyways we'll see, maybe she'll get better. 😅

Wyll is my fave so far, he's super underrated!! I do wish there were more romance options of color though. I think so far I've only met one which is Wyll. 😭😭

i mean he's good for picking locks. that was actually his sole purpose for me for the longest. then is tarted respecing him/multiclasing him thus he became my lock picker AND my arrow man in certain PTs. or my arrow man/shadow man. i am sure i dont use that to the full potential bc i am such a newb but wte. so you're not alone.

I know people wnat to include Karlach bc of what Larian did with her features [some people said she was modled after Gemma Chan] but I do not, because her voice actress is white. IDC. She is white. She a white woman who got surgery. Blame Z----l, if it makes yall feel better. She got a fetish or something. But Karlach is WHITE.
