I mean, he had eight-hundred thousand followers on the ‘Gram—again, he was very with it. He was practically a household name, really. Right up there with, like, Harry Styles and Adam Sandler, the greatest comedic genius of all time. But did this deter his family from patting his back sympathetically? No. They were all like, ‘Poor Hamish. All alone again this Christmas Season.’ Piss off. Oh, he wasn’t getting any younger either, as his sweet mother put it. Not that thirty was old or anything. He was young at heart and could easily keep up with those twenty-somethings in Uni still. Like, he knew what ‘rizz’ meant and the way you pronounce ‘Lol’ instead of spelling it out loud like those boomers would. …Yeah, uh, he’d known that for forever and no one had to correct him by laughing in his face. Nope. Nuh-huh. His parents were disgustingly in love. His older sister, Harriet, was married to some old guy that was on Season One of Love Island. Sometimes he’d try to bond with Hamish since they were both on a reality TV show. Weirdo. Like as if anyone watched the Love Island seasons before electricity had been invented. Newsflash, Jake: If you’re not on the app, you’re irrelevant! Not that Hamish would have ever said that out loud…he’d have been canceled for sure.

EXCLUSIVE: Following the June merger of Great American Media with Sony’s subscription streaming outfit Pure Flix, the combined entity will now be called Great American Pure Flix.

Great American Pure Flix is now the 24/7 home to faith and family-based series and films. Upcoming movies include Divine Influencer (September 15) starring Lara Silva from The Chosen and directed by Shari Rigby; Harvest Homecoming (October 6), starring Trevor Donovan and Jessica Lownde; and Birthright Outlaw (October 13), the new western from director Aaron Burns starring Lucas Black and Sarah Drew.

New Christmas movies will also stream in November, featuring Great American Family players such as Candace Cameron Bure, Lori Loughlin, Danica McKellar, Donovan, and Jen Lilley.

“We appreciate how seamlessly Great American Pure Flix fits in with the Great American Media family,” said Bill Abbott, President, and CEO of Great American Media who also oversees the streaming arm. “We love providing families with quality entertainment that celebrates faith, family, and hometown values wherever and however they enjoy watching.” 

Pure Flix was previously known for faith-based franchises like God’s Not Dead before it merged with Great American. It was acquired by Sony Pictures Television in December 2020.

“Family-friendly entertainment remains an important segment of the industry, and merging these two entities will create the greatest opportunity to achieve more scale for Pure Flix as it continues to build its subscriber base,” said Ravi Ahuja, Chairman of Global Television Studios and Corporate Development for Sony Pictures, at the time of the merger. “Bill and the Great American Media team have been successfully leading the Great American Family and Great American Living brands, and we believe they have a winning plan to take Pure Flix to even greater heights.”

Hopefully these answers aren't too cliche. ;)

#1 - Nightcrawler

What can I say? Even thought Batman was my introduction to superhero comics way back in the 90's, it wasn't long before my friend started introducing me to X-Men and Excalibur. She was really into Kitty Pryde but I immediately fell in love with this blue dude. (Thankfully they appeared in a lot of comics side by side so she had lots of books for me to read.) I had a pirate phase because of this guy. I watched a lot of Errol Flynn. I have Flaming Carrot comics on my shelf because of that one time he had a FC t-shirt in one scene. He's my rotten soldier, hes my sweet cheese, my good-time boy.

#2 - Honey Badger (Gabby Kinney)

Maybe the only Marvel comic book gal I've ever cosplayed? She's just... fun. I appreciate that even at her young age, she's really been through it. As a clone "granddaughter" of Wolverine, she's got that tragic backstory down pat, but she looked at all that trauma, and how Logan and Laura responded to it, said, "nah" and went on about her life caring about animals and being besties with Deadpool. There's probably a metaphor in there about generational trauma or something, but needless to say, I'm just glad there's a superhero girl out there who wears pants and looks and acts her age.

#3 Spider-Man (all of them)

I know, everyone is so surprised. The most popular superhero in the whole world. XD As a middle schooler, I lived on a steady diet of Gargoyles and the Spider-Man animated series, both of which introduced a lot of (dubious) scientific concepts before my science class got anywhere close to talking about stuff like genetics or cloning. I know Peter Parker is written to be this supposedly relatable everyman, so it's not hard to project on to him, but that means there's a lot of *there* there. I think Spider-Man is also one of the heroes who best understands his position as a symbol. Other characters go about their super-lives, making choices that they think are right, but in the back of his head, I think Spidey is always aware of the fact that kids look up to him, and that holds him to a stricter code than a lot of heroes. He walks this razor thin line and is stressed out about it all the time, and that's what the kids call a complete mood.

#4 Foggy Nelson

Putting up with Matt Murdock's crap is a super-power, actually.

No, but seriously. I LOVE a best friend type (see also: Nightcrawler) who provides that pragmatic (but not gloomy) perspective that other "more exciting" hero types need. They're not just there for comic relief, or so bad things can happen to them when shit goes down, they're essential, and Foggy performs his role admirably in basically every incarnation.

#5 The Bowler (Mystery Men)

Shut up, I'm putting a Mystery Men entry on here because that movie kicks ass and more people should watch it. I was vaguely aware of this movie when it came out (because of my aforementioned interest in Flaming Carrot comics) but I wasn't in a position to go out and see it. A few years later I picked it out of a bargain bin and it rocked my socks off. Mystery Men's greatest crime is being ahead of its time. It's a pastiche that came out before the world was oversaturated with big budget super-flix. And the Bowler is easily best of the bunch. I have a soft spot for Janeane Garofalo who brings the exact energy this role needs. I love her for being a competent hero who is still flawed and has her own shit going on, and I love that she's just... a woman out there doing her best... FOR REVENGE. I painstakingly made her costume for Halloween one year and literally nobody got it and actually I do not care, it's dope.

I’m one of those people who straight up judge documentaries by their titles. It’s important to keep fighting for better gun control laws in the US and to keep raising awareness for mental health in youth and this message is as important today as it was fifteen years ago. After you’ve watched Bowling For Columbine, read A Mother’s Reckoning written by one of the mother’s of the shooters. Michael Moore is a little bit sensationalist but his messages are generally pretty tops. If you haven’t seen this, it’s a really important documentary to watch. I was in high school when it happened so it always resonated with me quite strongly.

Some of these are new and some of them are older but sometimes people miss the release of docos the first time around and it would be a shame to miss these…ġ3 Documentaries on Netflix You Need To Watch Right Now These are a few of my all-time favourite documentaries. Although I admit, I spent most of last weekend watching the latest season of Degrassi. I like to watch documentaries so at least I’m learning something at the same time. The point is Netflix doesn’t know you as well as it thinks it does and there are some amazing hidden gems lurking in there that you’ve never even heard of.Ī lot of my time is spent crocheting and sometimes when I’m working on a new project that’s very repetitive, I need something stimulating on while I’m doing it. A bad war history documentary is like setting fire to your brain and your spare time simultaneously. A good war history documentary is one of life’s greatest pleasures. I have first-hand experience with this because Mr Smaggle is a fan of war history. There is nothing more boring than a boring documentary. I’m a big documentary lover but I really need them to be recommended to me. I love Netflix, but sometimes the dear old Flix gets it very, very wrong. ‘What the hell is that?’ I shrieked as I grabbed the remote from him. People generally being batshit crazy? Check. It was just about the most perfect show for me. One of his top suggestions was a documentary on Netflix called Wild Wild Country about a cult who created a city in a small area of Oregan and then poisoned some of the locals by spraying ebola on the local salad bar. I was sitting next to Mr Smaggle on the couch as he was flicking through our Apple TV.

so not only do i have an invader zim AU, but i also have a neat lil group of (unrelated) irken ocs! they hang around at a space gas station, which is one of many in a chain of gas station planets established by the irkens during Operation Impending Doom 1.

The Gas Station

The irkens’ chain of space gas stations is known as Pitstar, and traveling aliens stop by one of these small planets when they need to refuel their spaceships or pick up a snack. Now, majority of Pitstars are run by robots and computers, meaning no alien has to work at them. However, this one in particular, Pitstar 8, isn’t as automated. This is because the incident with Zim back on Irk happened while Pitstar 8 was still being worked on, so all attention shifted to Irk and the gas station was entirely forgotten about, that is until they sent a couple of irkens to work there instead of installing the robotics it was meant to have.

Flix

Flix is one of the employees on Pitstar 8. He’s a pretty laid-back, chill guy. As you can tell, he’s also pretty tall. He was sent by the Tallest to work at Pitstar 8 because they were afraid he might outgrow them. Had Flix actually been tall enough to rule, he would’ve chosen his life as a gas jockey over being leader of an entire alien race anyway.

Chevron

Chevron also works at Pitstar 8. She’s considered a defective because of her naturally sweet, friendly and innocent nature, so they sent her to work at the gas station alongside Flix. She loves talking to customers and learning about what their lives are like. She has two different colored eyes because she thinks it looks cool.

Ebb

Ebb doesn’t work at the gas station, but he hangs out there a lot. In fact, he pretty much lives on Pitstar 8. He was once in training to be an engineer for the irken military, but didn’t like the idea of using his own gadgets to hurt innocent lives, so he just kinda up and left. He was actually friends with Zim while they were both in training, and they caused lots of catastrophes together. Now, he’s a mild annoyance to the others at the gas station, but he also occasionally fixes up broken tech and makes gizmos of his own.

Mister Box

Mister Box is a modified SIR unit that one irken invader accidentally left behind at the gas station and never returned to pick up. Flix and Chevron found that he was useful for carrying in heavy boxes and doing other jobs around the gas station that are otherwise difficult, so the two adopted him into their team. ..Chevron named him.

Arrel

Arrel was once known as one of the greatest members of the irken military. He was strong, tall, smart, resilient; all good qualities of an irken soldier. One day, he met his fate, or at least his body did. His PAK was quickly transferred to a computer, which was later installed inside Pitstar 8. Since then, he’s lived on as a computer program, stuck within the gas station.

That is all i currently have! someday i might expand on this little group of weirdos, in fact im thinking of having there be a diner on the planet, maybe even owned by a vortian?? but yeah that’s all i got for now lol idk how to end this post

Prince Of The Universe was released on March 12, 1986 in US, Canada, Australia and New Zeeland. The song was written for the soundtrack of the movie Highlander and released on the album A Kind of Magic, which also featured other selections from the Highlander song score in 1986. The song was never released as a single in the UK and while it never truly charted, it is considered a cult favourite because of its relation to the film. Is the only song on the album for which Freddie receives sole credit. The song's name comes from the original working title of the film. It is played over the film's opening credits, and was later used as the opening theme for Highlander: The Series. In terms of musical style, the song is notable for being one of the most hard-edged tracks performed by the band, featuring a bombastic sound reminiscent of contemporary hard rock and heavy metal and vocals by Freddie akin to opera. The music video was directed by Russell Mulcahy, and was shot on 14 February 1986 at Elstree Studios, London, on the Silvercup rooftop stage used for the film. It consists mostly of Queen performing the song, intercut with scenes from Highlander. Christopher Lambert reprises his role as Connor MacLeod for a brief appearance in the video, where he swordfights Freddie who uses his microphone stand as a sword. Brian is seen playing a Washburn RR11V instead of his Red Special. Although the single did not chart in the US, the video was regularly played on MTV.
