From the 1770s and up through the 1860s inks, paints, wallpapers and fabric contained arsenic, and though bans began in the 1830s and 40s, the practiced continued through the 1860s. So there is still a good chance these images are contaminated. ☠
Most commonly, the green book bindings of that era also contained arsenic.
