ice cream 5: At what point did your OC consider their childhood to be over? Was it a milestone in terms of age? Or did it follow a particular event? Did they feel ready for adulthood at that point?

In some ways they still don't think they're ready for adulthood. Quoye's young by viera standards, early-mid 30s, and they give themself a lot of leeway on responsibility as a result of that. They've lived a fraction of their expected lifespan, they're still figuring shit out, it's fine to be a little irresponsible, right? They also lost their parents young, and were raised by xaela and fellow refugees, they didn't grow up in an environment where viera norms were their norms. On some level, they're aware that they're making excuses for themself, but they think that's fine. So much of their childhood is a blur to them now, just a congealed mass of survival instinct, settling into new places and having to leave again, never really feeling like they had somewhere they belonged that was also safe, and so now they indulge their inner child whenever they can. If they had to pin down a specific point in time when they finally felt like a Grown Up, they'd probably say it was the day their tribe tasked (and trusted) them with heading out into the world to gather information about how far the Empire had progressed, and whether or not their advance was a threat to the Steppe yet. The Mhor took in a lot of refugees, so this was a big concern to them, and Quo was very flattered and a bit smug about being the one chosen for the job. And then they immediately fucked it up in the most spectacular way and ended up halfway around the world.

cupcakes 4: How would your OC choose to celebrate a major event or milestone (if they would celebrate it at all)? Would they prefer a quiet occasion with a friend or partner? Or would they enjoy as big an occasion as possible? Perhaps with many guests and much revelry?

Oh Quo's a "quiet occasion, nearest and dearest only" sort. They don't love big rowdy parties or overly formal events. They get exhausted easily by larger social settings, they're often very impulsive and prone to going along with just about anything that seems like a laugh, only realising how tired they are long, long after it's too late to avoid the resulting several days of burnout. If there are more than ten people invited, Quoye does not want to go.

27. How do they say “I love you” non-verbally?

Hmm mostly I think it’s just the way they take care of each other and look out for each other. Cori knows Shtola gets caught up in her work and forgets to eat so they’ll cook her food, or lure her away with the promise of a vanilla tart. And sometimes they probably have to force her to rest and Shtola is a bit annoyed but is always grateful later 😂

Shtola shows her love by doing what she can to lessen any burdens Cori is bearing. If Cori has a problem she’s already tracking down resources to figure out how to solve it. And by letting Cori pull her away from her books agshsj

Also just in general by being there for each other. they’ll wait up for each other if they know they’re due home, they look to each other first, they tell each other first when they have something interesting to say, they’re fans of the reassuring elbow/hand squeeze.

chocolate 3: What does your OC find comforting when they are distressed or anxious? Are they able to ask for this comfort from others? Or do they need to be alone?

At the risk of sounding like he has One Personality Trait Only, the first thing he's gonna do when he's going through it is play through it, his music is something he's taken refuge in many times over the years, it gives him a way to process but also to distract himself if needs be. It's not appropriate for all forms of distress though, and sometimes he does just need someone to talk to? Whether he's able to ask for it depends heavily on what the issue is, and how close he is wiith the person. He hates to let people see his weak points, or even let them know he has any. He's Fiadh, he's the life of the party, he's everyone's friend, nothing gets him down! And he hates to take that face off in front of people. Those closest to him can usually tell when he's faking it, though. Nuala in particular is especially adept at reading the subtle cues that differentiate "Fiadh is fine" and "Fiadh is not fine" and is usually quick to pull him aside for a quiet talk.

doughtnuts 3: Does your OC take the time necessary to recover fully from exertions or strain? Or do they sometimes push themselves to get back out out into the fray (literally or figuratively) before they are truly ready?

Depends on the strain. He lives in fear of tendonitis so if it's his arm or wrist that's strained, he is doing nothing until the pain is gone. Not a damn thing. Every other aspect of his health and wellbeing he's pretty reckless about though, and unless he's recently had some sleepless nights and incapable of pretending not to be exhausted, he's gonna try and let on like he's fine and everyone needs to stop worrying. He doesn't especially like to be fussed over, so he can be very "fake it till it breaks you" at times.
