Hi, I think I’m going to do a lil series of posts about my grishaverse ocs so if anyone has any questions or anything about any of them then please send in some asks! This can be if you’ve read my fics and have thoughts, if you see some of the oc posts I’m about to make/publish and have thoughts, or if you haven’t seen or read anything but are just intrigued 🖤

I put so much thought into characters who only end up being present for short snippets of time (I have a habit of accidentally fleshing out full backstories for every random name that gets used to fill space oops) and I would love to share more about them if anyone’s interested :)

Day 4: Freeform-OC's, Non-Canon, AU @grishaverse-week

The Bloodwitch, a dreaded Grisha with the power of manipulating liquids and the human body has earned her name righteously. In a world where the Sun Summoner shows up too late and the Darkling is dead, it is her who arises to fill up the empty power vaccuum. All that is left of her interference are nothing but pools of blood. It is said the Bloodwitch's red robes and gloved hands are naught but a curse laid by the Saints, forced to bear the blood of her 'enemies' wherever she goes. Little do they know that their Saints are Grisha too... She is revered among the Grisha as their savior and Sankta and later named as Ravka's Red General.

Meet my OCs - Kiada Nowi

Fic: Daughter of the Rain and Snow and the short holiday special sequel fic, called Happy Holidays. I am planning to eventually write a full length sequel as well, but I haven't gotten round to that yet

Will this post contain fic spoilers? Yes, but only because details about her backstory are revealed throughout the fic; there are no major plot points spoiled by this

Role: a big character but doesn't have POV chapters except for one in the holiday special; if I write the full length sequel then she will get POV chapters

She glanced over at Kiada and Aimee, curled up on floormats with blankets laid neatly over them. Inej had said that if they didn't wake up soon, she'd get a Corporalnik, but Maya wasn't sure what good it would do. If Yen wanted you to sleep, you slept. If Yen wanted you to die, you died.

Bio:

Kiada was born around four years before the events of Six of Crows an raised at an orphanage in Weddle, Novyi Zem, which she ran away from for undisclosed reasons at a young age. She ended up in a harbour town she didn't know the name of and was kidnapped by slavers, who brought her to Ketterdam and sold her into a pleasure house called the Tulip Mill. When Kiada was fourteen, Inej Ghafa and the crew of the Wraith attempted to shut down the Tulip Mill and although the plan went sideways three girls, including Kiada, were successfully freed. Kiada was severely drugged during these events, and cannot recall the escape itself.

Kiada is a quiet and private person, and she finds the most comfort in painting and playing the piano. She had piano lessons as a young child, had an affinity for music, and found that much her muscle memory in how to play remained even after a prolonged period of being without the instrument. Art is something that she has always carried with her and privately practiced in a variety of different mediums based purely on what was available to her at the time - at the Tulip Mill, she once stole a shard of glass from a broken window and used it to carve scenes into the slats of her bed by hiding underneath it - but when it is available finds paint to be the most enjoyable. She practices the Saints religion that she grew up with in Novyi Zem, but after learning Kerch be necessity only after her abduction and experiencing numerous punishments for speaking her native language, she experiences difficulties in going to a Zemeni Church or even holding a conversation in the language. As she works through this, she begins to attend a Church at the Zemeni Embassy in Ketterdam and is able to begin to heal her complicated relationship with the language. When she experiences severe stress she quickly closes in on herself, and has experiences with dissociation and a non-verbal period during the fic.
