#my post #successfully didn't cry on my zoom call with my advisors for my senior project for little clear reason other than general stress #like i know that the reason why you have to do a big mostly independent project is so that you get good at handling them but aaaaaaaaaaaaaa #nothing's happened. im already behind. i should try to get ahead? my timeline kinda sucks. I haven't started the literature review.#i know my want of having a project that's like... fun. was impossible but. hell on earth (has barely even started)#i'm starting to think more and more i'm not actually cut out for science. maybe i just like science communication lmao.#i know that's an overreaction but my work ethic is fucking shit for the fact i've been an honors student since... what like 1st grade?#i like learning i just hate the work that's supposed to come with it. i want my cake and i want to eat it too.#so the idea of fucking self monitoring my work. i'll probably be fine but i have to pre-emptively freak out and cry about it so.#guess if we get the crying about it done now then i'll have more time in my schedule for the insane bullshit I will be pulling later.#a normal semester (the heavier semester of the senior project and research again probably #and being the lead undergrad TA for one of the most insane classes i've heard of (it's 4 credits in a quarter) and 3 classes #(tho one is a freebie and the other shouldn't be Too much. the last one probably Will be a lot.)#time to go slam more video essays into my brain i suppose

uploading all the videos i took during my time on tour with scott onto a flashdrive and there's 190 items selected omg,,,,

#to be fair some of them are like 10 seconds of b-roll but other ones are 45 minutes to an hour so idk exactly what the total time is #and not all of these are specifically from the tour a few of them are other vids that could be used in the doc #but i'd guess the vast majority are the tour #current mood is that meme where someone asks to see the person's phone and they're like ''sure just a sec''#and then it's a screenshot of deleting 50+ screenshots of the same fictional character or celebrity #except all of the scott images/vids on my phone are somehow for WORK and i can't delete them i'm duplicating them onto a flashdrive #so even if i do need to free up space i will have the video of scott teasing me at my first gay bar FOREVER #anyone wanna watch through the several hours worth of footage with me as i try to figure out how i'm gonna edit this into a 10 min sample #as the final for my independent study credit lmao #(rhetorical but also maybe at some point i'll be sharing some of this behind the scenes footage even if it doesn't make the doc)#that tour was such a wild experience i miss it so much lmao #feeling nostalgic for sitting on the floor of a nyc train station with scott and casually chatting about being undiagnosed manic-depressive #literally the best vibes i wish i was sitting on the floor of a train station with scott rn

Discord's back it seems. Saw people on the reddit thread I found about this that was from like 20 minutes ago saying that they had moderate success resetting their router

No, I refuse. Discord broke it, discord can fix it, I'm not putting in that much effort when I still had my phone and didn't have anything important to do

And I won, I didn't have to do shit and it got fixed eventually

So like... good work, but I'm still gonna complain. The correct amount of outages is zero when you're a big company. Full stop (though while I'm very much applying this to stuff like ISPs, I'm sure many of us would say that by that standard their ISP isn't acceptable... and it's not)

#mine's pretty good at this point; they occasionally get an annoy outage; but it usually lasts for like a day #and like... the last one was some like master modem breaking and them needing to wait for a part #and it's like... you should probably have a spare part on hand... but fine #meanwhile comcast would drop to basically like zero service half of the nights #so my little nowhere ISP kicks comcast's teeth in; which is why I don't complain about the rare annoying outages #fuck comcast #I know the point of this post was dunking on discord a bit; but if you take one thing away let it be fuck comcast #nobody likes them; I've literally never heard a single nice word about them #only thing I'll say is they're better than century link which straight up didn't work when I used them #(and I had to pretend to move out of state to get them to fucking cancel)#(I'll give comcast credit of that I walked in to their store with my modem and said I'd like to cancel and they just said 'ok')#but fuck comcast; and fuck their attempts to rebrand to xfinity #a) that's a stupid name; but b) fuck you; you're comcast; and fuck comcast #I didn't realize it; but I guess I'm still really mad about how much they sucked even like... 4 years later #and the sad thing is they sound so much better than like AT&T #fuck ISPs; break their kneecaps; noncompete ass monopolies carving the country up into fiefdoms
