read about all the armor set pieces i never bothered to fin before stopping to play to make sure i wasnt missing any potential useful info and came across the thing that im guessing is the reward for the shrines given its description and i just

kinda sank back into sadness and desperation bc of how much i dont like it and im fearing they are just gonna mess it all up even further

i said it before but i have a seething hatred for how totk hurts botw in retrospect, like wow i liked the mystery of the sonau but never wanted an answer to it, i liked the mystery of who the ancient hero was bc of its strange depiction and man did i not want this kind of answer, some things not having an answer can be more interesting than having one, cant we focus on going forward instead of looking back further and further, it was fine with the shiekah but at the end of botw it felt like a relieved sigh of "ok the past is gone and done, now we can built a better future and move o-" NOPE LOL LOOK BACK EVEN FURTHER THERE WERE THE COOLEST PEOPLE EVEN FURTHER IN THE PAST OMG YOU GUYYSSS LOOKS HOW COOL THEY WERE AND ALSO FUCKED IT ALL UP LOOOOOK LOOOK

like in general i have nothing against introducing a new species/nation to zelda but the way they did the sonau is just nothing but frustrating to me, coming out of basically nowhere and suddendly being shoved into EVERYTHING, everything shiekah, basically erased bc ACTUALLY the sonau were here first lol and they were so much cooler and better in every aspect dont you DARE even THINK of any other boring old group central to the better game of the two (botw)

like i get it they are the new cool thing but they feel so much more suddendly FORCED into EVERY aspect of both lore and world and how everyone absolutely obsesses over them its like the devs were so scared of the player not being interested in them that they felt the need to make every second NPC obsessed with them just so they can constantly shove in your face how interesting they are (like i think they way this was done just made me even less interested/more annoyed, sorry, their design is neat yeah but i really dont care, you failed to make me care and TELLING me to care wont change that), the ancient shiekah felt so much better integrated as a natural part of the world without being annoying about it and i just ....

i worry about whats to come, both for possible DLC, or worse even another game pretending to be connected to it or just .. in general ... especially given how successful totk was and still looks like its only praised outside of my bubble of like minded people

i now got alot of people interested into my totk rewrite but now im worried ... isnt my energy and time better spent on something else .. especially if they are just gonna make it all worse anyway/mess with it more, like after seeing how much totk disappointed me yet how successful it is i doubt it will get better again

#hm. im in limbo. but at least i can draw again at last. ive never spent so long not wanting to draw. it was terrible #my job search lasted 4 days before i secured a position at target but i dont start until the 26th so im drifting until then #it feels so weird. like i dunno. i keep thinking abt jobs in a weird way now bc i just sorta drifted into what i do #weird academic stuff but i think most jobs arent like being a grad student and that never really occured to me #i dunno why. i could have done so many things but here i am. an ecologist mostly. i dunno. well see what the summer brings #maybe ill grow some social skills. its sorta weird but like the medication has made my head less terrible with intrusive thoughts. like i #can actually drive my car without hyperventilating which is fucking wild. so Maybe ill grow some confidence abt interacting with the world #going back in the fall still seems impossible rn but so does starting a job somewhere else. but i dunno #not where i expected to be in my life. im just lucky i dont have to worry much abt money #especially bc i got an ultrasound done so they cold make sure something wasnt wrong with my uterus #and its fine. guess it just hates me but that means i spent like 350 dollars for a 10min scan that showed nothing #ay. the us medical system #anyway. i guess ill continue drifting until the 26th #probably i should find something to do. or work on my old unpublished data #unrelated

i wonder if i'll ever permanently realise that this is all real and not some bad dream i can wake up from someday

#we uh . do a little coping? for 10 months now???#i do have moments of 'oh this is happening for real isnt it' but for the most part im just like #in this Waiting Mode. waiting for things to go back to the way they used to be #waiting for my mom to magically get better (she wont)#and like. idk. i guess its sorta helping me not feel soul-crushing sadness 24/7 #but it is also fucking w/ my perception of time and my surroundings so much #cuz everything feels as though its on pause. but it very much isnt. time keeps going and going #and everyones lives continue #but i feel as though im stuck. staying behind. willingly? unwillingly? its hard to tell #its scary. its also one of the only things that brings me a semblance of comfort. and that is also part of what makes it scary #i dont think this is gonna be good for me in the long run

Ykno the common critique I've seen around is that trimax fights r hard to follow & such. And I've always had the kind of thought of like "I mean sometimes it can be confusing, but if u stop to study it it's really not that bad"

Having a fight analysis post kinda blow up tho I'm seeing ppl comment over and over in the tags about how hard it is to keep up with the fights... and I'm just like. Is it really that confusing? Like genuinely. I thought it was one of those overblown fan critiques but it seems like a Lot of people agree with it.

#speculation nation #in the original manga Yea fights were pretty hard. took me a Lot of squinting to figure out what actually happened with the Nebraskas #but idk most of the fights r just vibes. u follow along and feel what the characters r feeling and the fine details dont matter.#a lot of times i do end up flipping back and forth between pages bc there r details revealed later on that make earlier things make sense #or just looking for clarification. that kind of thing.#so yeah it kinda does take some work to fully understand it but i kinda figured that's like... how manga fights go...#i much prefer this over the common shounen trope of stopping the fight to explain every single move that's done #so im just like 'come ON i already understood it!!! can we keep going already????'#is it the fact that nightow doesnt do this that makes it so confusing??? so ppl dont get the play by play as it happens???#this all probably sounds obnoxious but im just genuinely trying to make sense of it.#i guess im also just a perceptive person when im paying attention to smth. maybe that's what it ultimately boils down to.#one person commented saying theyd kill if i did play by plays for all the trimax fights lol #i probably wont for All of them bc that sounds like quite a project #but if another catches my attention in this same sorta way... then maybe.#i guess understanding nightow's fights is a skill. probably at least partially assisted by being able to read the sound effects.#oh yeah. that's another thing lol. i can read the sound effects. and that especially helps with knowing how many shots there are #stuff like that. 🤔 yea i dunno. i wasnt expecting that post to get so many notes.#but it's well over 400 now and still counting. waking up to 99+ notifications is... an experience lmao

#this is directed at both apple and also my shoulder #mad at apple bc: replaced the control bar on new laptops with a digital version #which includes a volume slider instead of just 'volume up' and 'volume down' buttons #mad at shoulder bc: two back-to-back subluxations??? wat are you DOING HONEY #what happened: accidentally tapped the top of the volume slider #which turns the volume up to MAX and blasts ur eardrums into smithereens #note that i did that whilst one of my hands was sorta loosely holding my arm #so in my panic. i think i must have grabbed and yanked on my arm???#and it popped RIGHT OUT of the socket (and then back in)#which is just adding insult to injury (or. injury to injury??) bc i was ALREADY dying #from the music blasting at an ungodly volume #and now my SHOULDER HURTS????#okay and um. i remembered how to turn down my headphones so i did that and took a moment to collect myself #and then guess waht. guess what i Immediately fucking did.#as soon as i was ready to proceed with the music listening???#i tapped the max volume AGAIN #and YANKED MY SHOULDER OUT AGAIN #bc i was kinda holding it since!! yk!!! it HURT!!!!#so yeah now ive figured out how to remove the slider and just put in the up/down buttons instead #but also im fucking Angy bc WHAY THE FUUCK #whatever the fuck
