***** my favorite Flamingos 🦩through my lens, series I: the large wonderful birds with deep pink plumage, a special design of bill and 2 pink sticks alike legs can be seen around 10 lakes and sanctuaries in India if we really love to travel. There are 6 types flamingos in this universe, only the Pink coloured Greater Flamingo which is the largest one is found in India. During winter season the marvelous pink avian creatures migrate to the Indian state such as Maharastra, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Andhra Pradesh and Orissa and fly back at beginning of summer season. Just want to mention some of the interesting points about the lovely🦩, 1. The bright pink color of their plumage is completely depends on their food habit as they mainly feed the crustaceans and red algae and the algae-crustaceans are loaded with beta carotene which contains the pinkish pigments. 2. If the bird stop taking carotenoid food the beautiful color of plumage will be turned to pale white. 3. The mature male 🦩 can be up to 4.7 feet but the weight is super low i.e. only for 3.5 kg. 4. The average lifespan of 🦩 could be about 20-30 years in wild and in zoo upto 50 years. 🕉 🚩 ⚜️♣️⠀ ⠀ Shree Swaminarayan Mandir Kalupur  is the first Temple of the Swaminarayan Sampraday, a Hindu sect. ⠀ ⠀ It is located in Kalupur area of Ahmedabad, the largest city in Gujarat, India. It was built on the instructions of Swaminarayan, the founder of the sect.⠀ ⠀ A British officer, Dunlop was so impressed with activities of Swaminarayan and his followers, that on behalf of the government he gave 5,000 acres of land in Kalupur area of Ahmedabad to build this temple. When the temple was completed, the officer was so impressed by the temple that he commanded a 101 gun salute to the temple.⠀ ⠀ When the British government wanted to build a railway station in Kalupur, the temple returned part of the land, where Kalupur Railway Station stands today. The government compensated the temple by granting it 1,000 acres of land in the Narayannagar village. Although the temple had very good relations with the British government, part of the wooden carvings in the temple depict the 1857 uprising, which is often referred to as India's first war of Independence.⠀ ⠀ With its architecture based on Burma teak wood, every coloured arch and bracket is a bright different shade, something that stands out in most Swaminarayan temples. According to Anjali Desai, author of India Guide Gujarat, the temple resembles a fairytale with all its colours and opulent carvings that profusely embellish every wooden bracket, column and arch. The temple attracts a million people on the day after Diwali.
