Handvo/ lentil -vegetable cake.. #handvo #vegetablecake #lentilcake #saltycake #gujraticuisine Ingredients: For batter : 1 cup rice,1/4 cup split pigeon pea,1/4 cup green gram,1 spoon black gram,1/4 cup split chick pea (soak everything for 5 hour and grind well) ,after grinding allow it to ferment for 8 to 10 hour,1/2 cup yogurt,1/2 cup grated bottle gourd,1/4 cup grated carrot,1/4 cup grated sweet pepper,(any choice of vegetable can be use), 1 spoon grated ginger ,1 /2 spoon finely chopped green chilli,2 spoon chopped cilantro,1/4 spoon turmeric powder,1/4 or less coriander powder, 1 spoon lemon juice,1/2 spoon baking powder,salt 3/4 spoon... For tempering: 2 spoon cumin seed,1 spoon carom seed, 1 spoon mustard seed,4 spoon sesame seed,1/6 spoon asafoetida,curry leaves ,2 spoon oil.... Recipe: preheat oven at 375 Fahrenheit,mix all ingredients in fermented batter, now turn on heat,prepare seasoning using ingredients,allow it to turn golden brown,turn off stove, grease a cake pan,sprinkle some tempering over base,mix some into batter,pour batter into pan,tap it,sprinkle rest of the tempering over the batter,bake it at 375 Fahrenheit for 30 to 40 minutes, check it using knife or tooth pick inserting into the centre whether it’s baked or not,if knife comes out clean ,its cooked,if top surface hasn’t turned brown,turn on broiler for 4 minutes, cut into pieces and enjoy 😋😋 (at Brampton, Ontario)
