The Top Selling Business Jets in 2021

So far in 2021, after gathering two quarters of shipment and delivery data. It appears as though business jet shipments and deliveries have been moving quite regularly, and as expected at this point, past the 6 month mark. As per the updated General Aviation Manufacturers Association (GAMA) report for September 1st 2021. It looks as though the number of business jets that were delivered so far in 2021 is approximately 264. As for turboprops (single & multi-engine), there are around 221 that were shipped and delivered up to now in 2021.

While the market had about a 20% drop overall in 2020, it looks as though 2021 might be looking better, based on the numbers we are seeing from Q1 & Q2 to this day.

While being able to take off on short runways at high altitude airports. The G550 is considered by some aviation experts to be an ultra long haul. This essentially means that most trips are single-leg and long-range in their duration. Trips that the G4 is not capable of handling, this aircraft can travel and perform much better. Overall, the range on the aircraft is 6,750 nautical miles.

The G550 has three living areas and can seat up to 19 passengers. The aircraft seats have the option of turning into beds and can allow 5 to 6 people to rest / sleep in a standard configuration. The lavatories have been improved (forward /aft). One of those improvements being the change to a vacuum lavatory system. This allows for more safety, sanitization, less odor, removal of chemicals and can also help reduce aircraft weight and fuel usage.

The noise insulation has improved. Along with a longer cabin, it can stay fairly quiet. Especially with the cabin doors closed. One thing to note is the aircraft pressurization system. This system simulates as if you are flying between 4,000 and 6,000 ft. At these levels, you are able to breathe better and can help to reduce fatigue on long-range flights.

When flying with the G550, you will typically work with a three pilot crew. If you're traveling longer distances up to 12 hours or more, you can expect there to be a fourth pilot as well.

Due to charter limitations, this aircraft can fly for approximately 12 hours. Although, it does have the ability to fly for up to 14 hours.

The baggage is approximately 50% bigger than in the G4. It also allows you in-flight access.

The third living area can be made into a state room or an office.

Italian Air Force receives its first special mission aircraft G550 from the JAMMS program

The first Gulfstream G550 aircraft of the Italian Air Force, of the MMMS (Multisensor Multisensor System) program, landed in Pratica di Mare a few days ago, after a direct flight of more than nine hours from Dallas (USA).

On board a mixed crew composed of personnel from the 71st Flight Group and the Experimental Flight Department, who carried out a series of preparatory activities to take from the aircraft.

The structure, which officially becomes part of the fleet of the 71st Group of the 14th Ward, will be immediately used in training and logistics transport activities, to enhance the redistribution capabilities of the Department, which has been working with Gulfstream G550 aircraft in the CAEW (Conformal Early Warning) version. In the future, the new jet will undergo some peculiar changes to host on board a sophisticated set of missions that will transform it into a G550 MMMS, which is a platform equipped with particular sensors through which you can expand the supply of defense information.

The systems that would be integrated as part of the conversion will include MX-20HD electro-optical and infrared systems, Osprey 50 AESA radars and AISREW ISR equipment.

According to an approval by the U.S. Department of State in 2020 for the purchase from Italy of equipment necessary for conversion, this part of the work will be carried out by L3Harris. In December 2020, the department gave the green light for the integration of two AISREW mission systems into two G550s that would be provided by the Italian Ministry of Defense.

According to the plans revealed in 2020, Italy plans to buy four fuselages of each configuration, eventually bringing its fleet of special mission G550s to ten. The service already operates two CAEW aircraft delivered in 2016 and 2017 as part of a reciprocal 2012 agreement, which saw Israel buy 30 M-346 training aircraft from Italian Leonardo.

The 14th Storm is headquartered at the "Mario de Bernardi" Military Airport in Pratica di Mare and depends on the Air Squadron Command through the Mobility and Support Forces Command. The Department is divided, among other things, into two Flight Groups: the 71st "Perseo" Flight Group, which carries out Early Air Alert missions with CAEW aircraft and radio measurement and tactical transport activities, also in favor of the Department of Civil Protection, with the P-180 Avanti I and II aircraft, and the 8th "Breus" Flight Group
