Book 7 Thoughts

I'd say this book was a mixed bag for me. It had some interesting ideas but didn't seem to do much with them. Plus it feels like a lot of things this book was left up to speculation. Might try to make a theory once I have my thoughts better put together and go over some things again.

I'm surprised Veronica only got one part in the whole book. I'm guessing getting her ass kicked by Gulliveig how they decided to write her out of the plot of this book. She probably spent the whole book recovering from that.

I liked Seidr just fine as the OC character. but poor girl is forever gonna be assiocated with that weird asking you to make a god baby with her bit. From what I've seen around a lot people are confused and wondering what the point of that bit is. My guess is it's probably Heidr. But if that's true does that imply that the Summoner made the vow with Seidr. Because I think Seidr said all the summoner had to do on their end was make some kind of vow. But since the summoner is silent protag we don't really know what their answer was. Though I'll admit after Book 6 it was nice to get to see the Summoner play a major role in the story.

I'll admit I only ended up warming up to Gulliveig as a character thanks to Brave Gullivieg. I guess one good thing that came from Gullivieg winning CYL7 was getting to see some more characterization for her in forging bonds. And yes I do have my Brave Gullivieg S-Supported with my Brave Corrin thanks to that as well.

Little disappointed that Njord's time as a villain was short lived. Revealed to be a baddie and then *BOOM* dead.

I don't know why but I wasn't able to get that attached to Heidr. Not really sure how to feel about her honestly, but I'll admit that the part where Seidr had to kill her was kind of sad.

Nerthuz, good unit, helpful in aether aids but no attachments to her character.

Ksavir, I've developed a soft spot for her and feel kind of bad for her. Though I'm a little confused to how killing her doesn't make Seidr disappear or something like that. Mostly because in most time travel plots, if the past self dies then the future shelf disappears. Like that's what happened to Kano in Mortal Kombat 11 for example. I get Seidr has to live but I'm still confused how that works here. Also kind of disappointing they didn't tell us why Seidr doesn't remember being Ksavir aside from having a vague memory of having met the summoner before.

Also I'm not sure what to think of the fact that Seidr now has the other versions of herself as mind mates now.

And I guess that's all I got for now.

A Few Thoughts on the New Chapter

I wonder if glowing Breidabliek is the past version of it. Right now I'm predicting the gold one will probably be used to take down Gullveig somehow.

This actually made me go "What the fuck?!" out loud. But then remembering this.

This now makes me wonder if we may have unknowingly told her something we shouldn't have.

I could be wrong but as someone who's played Kingdom Hearts, this feels like that Xenanort shit all over again. So now we'll have to wait to find out why she's trying become Gulliveig.

Also really hoping this doesn't turn out to be the Seidr/Summoner kid. That fact that this kid version of Gulliveg existed a few hundred in the past gives me some hopes for that. But on the other hand this is a time travel plot...So there's still potential for mindfuckery.

I think even Alfonse is little confused by all this. But knowing him he'll figure out eventually.

Sidenote: Loved seeing Alfonse happy here. Even thought I don't personally have my summoner shipped with him, I am fan of kiralfonse and I love seeing the different variations of it that people come up with for it.
