Ah, yes, because people are MORE likely to start trouble when they know anyone else might pop a cap in them. And also, random criminals - who generally don't own guns legally to begin with - are all John Wick-level marksmen and hardened murderers.

Because we all know there's nothing a predator likes more than a fair fight.

Also, notice how "I'm not saying the laws are perfect" is not the same as actually saying "the current laws are imperfect", much less addressing the claim that gun control causes more crime.

Guns!

Love em or hate them they're a huge part of American culture.

Many people believe guns should be heavily regulated or outright banned, while others will die before they'd consider getting rid of them.

You've probably heard many takes from both sides but I just had an idea that I think could actually work to help curb gun crime in America, without breaking the second amendment.

Outlaw lethal ammunition!

Just think about it, without bullets, guns are just heaps of plastic and metal. It's their ability to fire high speed, high power projectiles that makes them so dangerous. So if we get rid of that, guns become a lot safer. There are plenty of non-lethal or less than lethal ammunition types that people can use that can work just as well as lethal bullets for self defense. These things can still hurt definitely, and might be able to kill if you try hard enough, but thats way safer than the way things are now.

Of course people could still get lethal ammunition through extra legal means, but that would happen regardless if it was ammo or the guns themselves.

So I say, if America is unwilling to give up it's guns, than we must take away it's ammunition.
