Horror Manga Recommendations part 10: Sadako at the End of the World by Koma Natsumi

Happy Saturday everyone! I'm uploading today's recommendation a bit early cuz I'm gonna be busy this afternoon. This week we're looking at the oneshot post-apocalyptic comedy( kinda? ) ghost story of Sadako at the End of the World.

"In a world torn apart by an apocalypse, two lonely little girls chance upon a strange video. To their surprise and joy, a girl with long black hair named Sadako climbs out of the TV…But little do they know that Sadako is a vengeful ghost who will kill them in a week! In order to help their new friend, these two sweet, innocent girls begin a journey to the end of the world to look for more victims/friends. Can their bond with Sadako help her find peace and finally break the curse? Or will this tale have a tragic ending…?"

The story is really interesting because it explores themes of found family and perseverance, but it's also dread inducing because you know what's going to happen when the seven days are up. Especially as Sadako is introduced to more and more people...

What I especially like about this is that you can read it even if you've never seen/read The Ring. It doesn't assume that you already know how the rules of watching the VHS tape work so it is nice enough to explain things for anyone who wants to read it but is new to the series.

I will say that since this is a oneshot, the story could've benefited by being a bit longer so it would have more room for development, but it's still an interesting story nonetheless. Love The Ring? She's shushed, told that it'll be as slow and gentle as they know it needs to be for her. She'll be able to handle it, whether she wants to or not.

The room's pretty barren-looking. Seems like a place that was hastily abandoned long ago, and never really resettled, a frozen apocalypse. A thick layer of dust coats the books still laying face-down by the barricaded door type of situation.

It's a bit spooky, but not like, a horror movie set or anything. Any potential spiders in here are surely just normal sized ones. It can't possibly be as dangerous as it looks.

A second finger is now squirming inside her asshole. It brushes against her prostate, and she wishes she could be less clinical about knowing why she's feeling the way she is, but the sensation isn't really enough to hnnnNNNNN --

With a THIRD finger, the calculus changes; there's enough sensation to simply accept for what it is now.

Sigh of relief. Rolling of the hips. Maybe it won't end so bad for her.

She saw what they did to the other girls outside, by the fire pit, and she chanted along, and got all that resulting useful information in. Picking girl chunks out of your hair at gunpoint really teaches you a lot about how the world works.

But they're inside now. And there's not going to be a revolver, but…

The fingers being removed are her only warning.

The warmth and fullness that were definitely gonna be sufficient for an eventual orgasm are gone. Now there is only the cold hollow mouth of a shotgun barrel, pushing firmly against the cute puffy ridge of her asscunt.

This isn't right. She doesn't feel ready yet.

Some idiotic internal monologue, panic about all the dirt from the filthy gun getting onto her, into her, coming loose and building up inside her, through which she tries to stay calm and keep breathing but just when she thinks she can handle it they push the gun harder and it grinds in, horrible and ripping and barely-lubricated and not at all what she agreed to.

She tears at her lower seams, sobbing apart, tainted blood running down the penetrating steel like a barbers' pole.

They keep pushing. Somehow, another agonizing inch finds a way to fit inside her, despite every automatic attempt her body makes at rejecting it. She heaves and sobs plenty but that doesn't seem to have much effect on what must be done to her.

But that's been taken care of. Quiet hands.

The movement has stopped down there too, at least. She forces herself to peel an eye open, having to know what's coming next. Pale moonlight through boarded up windows doesn't give her much to work with, but through the haze of pain and dust motes, it sort of looks like-

The shotgun is broken open. She freezes. That's right, they can DO that.

Before she can whine out a pithy protest, something hot and acrid starts trickling down the barrel.

An estuary of steaming fresh piss bypasses several girlsphincters, washing all the residual gun chunks directly into the deepest, most wretched cavities of her body, and she starts to REALLY hyperventilate now, because how long it'll take for all those little ragged metal shavings and caustic gun oils (that are no doubt already digging into and dissolving her soft colonmeat) to come back out of her again, only God knows, and she doesn't want to ask him anywa-

KA-BLAM!

A big new hole's opened up in the center of her abdomen, and everyone's invited.

Ragged flesh tripelace dangles around the edges, scarlet ichor and black bile and golden piss and every other color of the human rainbow gushes from her yawning thorax wound. The orgasm she was chasing, perpetually just around the corner, slips out of view through the cascade of gore, replaced by an overwhelming shiver, dying animal curling into itself on the floor, babbling* the garbage data of a permanently shattered brain, everything suddenly very cold and real and serious again.

A thick marine layer of fog rolls into her brain, gently wrapping her in its cold wet embrace and shepherding her away from all the pain and ugliness they blasted out of her. Its purpose served, the shotgun is pulled from her stretchy hole, but the pellets remain, little balls of leaden death embedded in the dusty wood all around as she struggles for each next breath.

She recedes into that misty dark, her body still heaving and twitching its last in the steaming puddle of liquefied intestinal matter.

* "I don't want to die," end up being her last words, in a bit of irony she's in too much shock to properly appreciate.
