i have this weird tradition where the first movie i watch each year is something from yoshihiro nishimura and i actually think it's the reason my life never gets better
Ok here we go, because I want more pressure I guess? I make no promises, no guarantees on anything, but I am open to trying.
My fic meme tag
I love writing final girls, slashers, monsters, unhealthy dynamics, femslash, character studies, monster romance, and sometimes even just random little crack drabbles/minifics. I donโt feel comfortable with OCs/reader stories, and I wonโt write Caleb/Rachel from Skinwalkers.ย Also no Nick from The Mummy.
Skinwalkers
See No Evil
Hellraiser (original or remake continuity)
Nightmare on Elm Street (ditto)
Friday the 13th (again ditto)
Freddy vs. Jason
Candyman
The Haunting of Hill House series

The Howling (specifically the first or the fifth)
Donโt Breathe
The Invitation (vampire movie)

Hell Fest
I know What You Did Last Summer

The Bride of Frankenstein (or something based on the Bride's HHH maze at Universal)
If there are other horror fandoms youโd be interested in prompting me you can always reply/send me an ask and Iโll let you know if I think I could give it a go!

horror-comedy is a hybrid that deliberately provokes an emotional shift from terror, suspense, or dread to hilarity. in comedy-horrorโitsย relativeโa playful tone predominates, but it is undercut by horrific or startling events or effects.

-Answered Prayers by Truman Capote is now one of the next books I want to buy
-I read a couple articles pertaining to the book and surrounding figures, which then lead me to watching the documentary Always at the Carlyle (2018)
๐ ฦเธเนะณืฅีเธษญัเธฃ
-I am in my fairytale era ๐ง๐ผโโ๏ธโจ๏ธ๐ฆขโฒ๏ธ๐ชทโ๏ธ๐น๐๐ช๐ฅ๐ซง๐ชบ
-seedlings were planted back in December with reading E.T.A. Hoffmann's and Alexandre Dumas' Nutcracker stories, and watching Frozen for the first time and then reading "The Snow Queen" by Hans Christian Andersen
-it was cemented with rewatching Donkey Skin (Peau d'ane) (1970) early in the month and then reading that fairytale ๐
-I've continued / am now I'm continuing to do that with other titles

โช I swear I had other things to put here, but I can always do updates posts later
-taken from one of my Letterboxd tags "ethereal femme horror" which I started/came up with when I first watched a couple Jean Rollin films late last summer
๐น [Also, Fairytale + Moody and Ethereal Femme = my "growing up in a land far far away" list on LB]
-in October I watched Haunted Summer (1988) and rewatched Gothic (1986) and in doing so I realized I haven't read much from Lord Byron. I then bought his Selected Poems and Don Juan ๐
-reading his work is also likely to lead to finding a biography about him, and works by and about the other Lake Geneva attendees: Mary Wollstonecraft (Shelley), Percy Bysshe Shelley, Claire Clairmont, John Polidori (I have previously read Frankenstein and The Vampyre)
-at the beginning of January I really wanted to start reading Boy Parts by Eliza Clark, but soon afterwards I found out an internet booktube friend died suddenly, so I was a little out of it last month. Boy Parts was actually on her 2024 tbr, so I definitely want to get to it soon when the spur strikes again. ๐ท
-honestly, since finding out about her death, though it has taken me some time, I'm even more determined to get to books and movies I've been wanting to read and to watch for years! things I've put off because of high expectations or whatever. things I think will be new all-time favs, 5/5 stars, etc. I'm going to read them! and one of those is A Certain Hunger by Chelsea G. Summers ๐๐
-I'm now realizing, when you think about it, certain Jean Rollin films could probably be categorized here ๐ง๐ผโโ๏ธ

I finally swear that I put on my blog with no bullshit I'm not a liar I know I don't want any stupid money out of this I just want to give the humans the truth and the world the truth because the humans don't know what they're doing they lie a lot and I'm also doing my job from the Grays and telling you the truth about the end times I don't know why I had to tell you I have no why is my duty but I have to tell you the Grey's, one in the messenger on the earth and I said okay and of course that of course I said okay cuz they cuz earth water and fire wouldn't speak but me the one of air with speak because the air speaks
You Give the truth to the Earth and it will bury it and you might see it one day when something grows you give the truth to the water and it may flow everywhere but the same time May sink to the bottom of the ocean and that would be Never seen again
You give the truth to the fire and it may explode in all directions or it could possibly be burnt up and lost forever
You give the truth to the air and it'll be scattered everywhere and it'll be Flung From the cloud tops and all will hear it and all will see it, where they like the Message or not
