Welcome to high school, the best or worst time of your life.

This group verse is inspired by 90s high school sitcoms such as Boy Meets World, Sabrina the Teenage Witch, Saved by the Bell, Fresh Prince, okay you get the picture. It takes place in the fictional average-sized, average-American town of Marble Hills. Your muse is attending Marble Hills High, one of two schools in town. Go Wild Wolves!

Marble Hills is conveniently located about an hour away from the beach, two hours away from the snowy mountains, and can get any kind of weather. So somewhere in the North part of the East Coast.

The school’s colors are red and gold

Marble Hills High rival is the Clear Lake High, home of the Clear Lake Cougars. The school’s colors are blue and green

The most popular mall is Fairside Mall. It has Orange Julius, Hot Dog on a Stick, RadioShack, F.Y.E, Photo booths, Mrs. Fields, EB Games, KB Toys, and more.

There’s an old roller rink called Skateland that’s been newly renovated with our favorite 90s arcade carpet and features a Starcade!

Some teens congregate at Sal’s Slicery after school. The pizza joint has been open since their parents were in school.

There’s of course a Borders, Blockbuster,  Chuck E Cheese, Toys R Us, 7-11, Barnes and Noble, Starbucks, TWO McDonalds, a Taco Bell, a Pizza Hut, and some of our other favorite chain stores  

rules:

this is a lowkey 1990s american high school group verse. the idea of this verse is just to have interconnected stories. i will not be doing activity checks or dictating that you must write or follow someone. y'all do you.

any character can join whether they took place in a 90s american high school setting or not.

characters will be restricted between the ages of 14-18. muns are required to be over 18 to join.

characters may have supernatural powers, but keep in mind that this is a high school verse based on 90s sitcoms so don't go overboard. also if a mun does not want to interact with supernatural characters, that's their choice.

if you are a multi-muse please submit separate applications for each character you want to join.

in terms of fcs, if you have a duplicate talk to the person who is already on the list. it's up to them.

please be nice to each other and don't force each other to interact. i have to be a mother 24/7 i do not want to be your mother.

Hi! How are you all! first favorite cyptids? Now I was wondering if you knew of any vets with adhd? I`m currently an assistant and while I`m doing well, I always need to double check my work (counting pills, getting CCs) and that takes a little more time. The vets have seemed to be getting annoyed by this but let it pass, while the head vet just wont help and walks away, and I`m afraid of reasking. Is there anyway I should bring this up to them? I`m afraid of them firing me for the hassle.

I know many vets with ADHD. I myself have many of the symptoms but do not have an official diagnosis because my healthcare providers write it off as “signs of stress/anxiety.” I will say that in general it does get frustrating to have to consistently repeat myself or always have the same questions being asked of me by assistants/techs. I typically rely on them to do things independently and in a consistent way, unless they haven’t had to do some task on a regular basis so they aren’t as comfortable with it. Having to step in myself or remind them of things multiple times does tend to slow things down. Have you considered writing things down in a pocket notebook so they’re easily accessible and you don’t have to ask? Using a pill counter (typically free from drug reps) so it’s easier to keep track of number of pills? Having a written question list to ask clients when you take an appointment so you’re able to give a thorough history to the vet? In general I find that writing something down the instant I think of it, keeps things from being forgotten later. I’m sure if you’re showing that you’re making improvements, they won’t fire you. You may find more help from a mental healthcare provider!

I haven’t been formally diagnosed but my psychiatrist was highly suspicious that I have ADHD. I just didn’t have time for the testing process and like GV, a lot of previous healthcare providers just told me I was anxious or being a typical college student. Legally, they shouldn’t be able to fire you because of your mental health. I have found that people don’t really tend to understand ADHD. They just picture hyperactive boys being disruptive in class and don’t realize that it’s different for adults, particularly those of us that are considered “high functioning”. I struggle a lot with focus and memory, so I try to say things out loud in front of my techs to help keep on task and to have them remind me if I forget things. I also make a ton of notes...but I still slip up. Vet med seems to attract people with mental health issues so you may find that people are more understanding than you expect!

I know a thylacine isn’t technically a cryptid but I kind of like to count them because I love the idea of a cool carnivore sneaking around and never being seen.

Thylacines are a good choice, but unlikely. There’s so much roadkill in Tasmania and free-roaming rabbits in backyards that somebody would have seen one by now.

Since the LSB had his ADHD diagnosis and he started reading more about it, we came to realise that I also have traits of it but exist as a bunch of cooing mechanisms held together by duct tape and chewing gum.

The triangular pill counters are really good, a huge time saver, even if the maths feels weird in your head at first. Sometimes I have also had common drugs in common dispensing numbers pre-dosed out in bottles of 20, 30, etc to just grab and go. Labelled, of course.

I developed a ‘quick check’ habit as a new grad where I would tell people like the senior vet what I was thinking very quickly and then ask “Does that sound right/fair/reasonable?” and most of the time the answer was a quick ‘yes’ so it didn’t take much of their time, but it reassured me. It was the fastest way for me to check my thought process. I have a nurse that does something similar in surgery, eg saying “He’s 25kg so does 2ml of X sound right?” which is just a yes/no response.

I think emergency medicine attracts vets with ADHD tendencies because the case load changes all the time, you only deal with each case for a set time, it can very dramatic, you don’t really have to worry about your consult times or running on schedule, sometimes you have to jump rapidly from one topic to another and there’s minimal long term follow up.

I also suspect blogging is rewarding to an ADHD type brain, as it’s lots of small, fast tasks with near-instant gratification so wouldn’t be suprised to find it over-represented.

His legal name is Stephen after his father but refuses to even acknowledge that he was named after him. - His mother was murdered when he was thirteen years old. He came home from a baseball game and found her body. Since there was no trace of her killers or even an inch of evidence to process, it was ruled that she was a victim of his father’s work. He suffered from major PTSD for years after the incident. Though his grandmother fought for custody against his father, she ultimately lost due to her elderly age. - Thomas' father trained him from the time that he was a freshman to his senior year of high school in all the skills he needed if he wanted to enter the family business. When he turned eighteen, he turned down his father's offer and moved out to their pool house to avoid his dad. They still have a very rocky relationship although his dad has tried to apologize for all he had done.  - From his freshman up until the end of his sophomore year, Thomas did act out and often got in trouble at school and even sometimes with the law. He has a minor record for vandalism and trespassing.

Abigail Oglethorpe (19) has been dubbed Georgia's princess since she was a little girl. Coming from the founding family of Georgia, her father didn't even have to become governor for her to be dubbed so. Needless to say, Abby was born into money. The old family kind of money. Still, seeing as her father was elected mayor when she was just six years old, Abby has led a mostly sheltered life. While she attended the best schools, had many friends (mostly handpicked by her mother), and had every opportunity laid at her feet, Abby was certainly princess material.

But being a so-called princess also meant many expectations placed on her. She was not to step out of line, and Abby was always keenly aware that people were watching, waiting for her to fuck up. Because of this, her mother never let her do anything. Not without some sort of chaperone to remind her. In fact, it took a lot of convincing to get her parents to let her even leave her beloved Savannah to experience even a little bit of the world. Of course, her mother would only allow her to go so far, and that was four hours away to Atlanta.

Some things to know about Abby: She is intelligent, loyal, and kind. However, she’s also naive, a little too nice at times, and sheltered as fuck. She’s also majoring in English in case you’re wondering.

The Pitch

Welcome to Polis Apartments at 100 Dropship Ave. Located above Arkadia Bar, the building hosts 3 floors of 2-3 bedroom apartments. Boasting a rooftop terrace ( loosely using the term ) Polis is home to residents looking for a good deal and a close-knit community where doors are usually open and residents are rarely found alone or in their own apartments. If either of those sound good to you- Polis is where you want to be.

But be warned: the elevator is always out-of-service, hope you like stairs.

The Plot

#polisaptgv is a general apartment verse set in an indeterminate large city. Ground floor is the bar, then three floors of 4 separate apartments above, all of which are open for new residents to apply. We’re looking to make this a fun, chill GV filled with connections and friendships and romances and co-workers and in-character drama. This is a player-heavy GV, you’re free to suggest events and things like that, and I’ll try to come up with a couple from time to time to keep things movin’ and groovin’. 

You can have up to 3 muses but no more than 2 to room together to encourage branching out. Your apartment can be a 2 or 3 bedroom and you can plot who you want to room with in dis/co. We have a server for plotting and planning, and IC activities will be dash-based for the time being. You are free to have your character work at any of the 8 locations or create new ones of your own that you’re free to ask be added to the list.

Louis Warren  at 100 Dropship Ave Apt 401

Louis is basically a wild child trust fun baby. Born to a set of litigation attorneys, including one that traded in her dreams of being a judge for a reality of being a senator, Louis is the youngest of 4, and the least accomplished, a title he holds dear. Oldest sibling Lizzie is a lawyer like her parents, cutthroat and ruthless enough to make Attila the Hun sweat. Second eldest Stephen is a professional baseball player. And third eldest is rarely home, preferring to be out in the world with Doctors Without Borders, bringing home tales of her altruism and the less fortunate of the world that she discusses over hand washed china at tables that cost $2000 a head. 

A hypocrite of the highest degree, Louis scorns his wealthy upbringing while attending the same expensive parties and the same hoity-toity events, though he’ll claim it’s family obligation in reality it’s just a chance to cause a scene. 

Fighter by day and fighter by night, blood and gore is as embedded in his DNA as wealth. Louis started fighting illegally in a fight club situation when he was 14, was caught at 19 and given the choice by the arresting officer of jail or going straight. He chose to go straight, but the rules and regulations of MMA feel stifling to him, and never fully silence the monster in his belly. So he fights and trains for MMA by day, and every other Thursday he returns to the pit where he first learned to tame the beast inside.

Okay, so it’s been a good bit since I’ve last been seen on tumblr >< 

Long Post Warning Below

But, here’s what’s been going on. I was sick for a looong ass time (still am a bit), but the past 3 days I’ve been feeling brand new! I went to the doctor’s 2 days ago and had called off work to rest up and just try to get rid of this sickness inside of me. The medicine has been helping slightly??? But also feels like it’s not helping at all, but they work better than normal dayquil and nyquil soooo, I’ll take it!

I haven’t been around because I’ve either been feeling too sick, or just not motivated, or just been busy playing Breath of the Wild because let me tell you, THAT GAME IS ADDICTING!

All in all, I’m here for a bit tonight, then I’ll be around after work tomorrow night and most of the day on Friday! I have an open house I need to attend on Friday sometime, but other than that I’m free all day!

WELCOME TO SKYRIM, a beautiful and varied province in the north of Tamriel, where adventure certainly awaits those who seek it... and danger for even those who don’t. Bandits, thieves, assassins, giants, wild wolf packs, and sabre cats are only a few of the hazards travelers will encounter on the common paths. When night falls, vampires and werewolves prey on the unwary.

THE CIVIL WAR still rages on between the Imperials and Stormcloaks, one side fighting for unity and the other for their god. Ulfric Stormcloak has killed High King Torygg, and sees himself upon the throne. Everywhere allegiances are drawn. But that isn’t all.

DRAGONS are back for the first time since the Mythic Era, if the rumors going around the inns are true. Coasting the open country with a great winged shadow across the land, attacking travelers and cities alike. No one knows where they came from, or why. 

PRAY TO THE DIVINES (or the Daedra) your weapons stay sharp, or your feet quick enough to guide you to safety.

INFORMATION:

This is a HIGH FANTASY verse. 

There are many different RACES in Skyrim, each with unique abilities. We will not be including Argonian, Khajiit, or Orsimer races except as NPCs.

There are also several HOLDS and major CITIES. Around the country are different FACTIONS your character may be interested in joining.

Your character may not be the Dragonborn, a Jarl, or the High Queen. The Dragonborn can exist in the universe though, so your character may encounter them on travels. 

Anyone is capable of learning magic if they have the will and intelligence to do so, but it is only taught in one tundra-like location.

ADDITIONAL:

I have created a QUIZ to try to help you build your character in this world, particularly if you are unfamiliar with the races and locations. Feel free to take it before applying, however the results won’t show up when you submit, so I can send you your answers afterwards if you forget what you chose. Or simply retake the quiz.

Fox was caught stealing at 14 and given over to the system. She spent the entirety of her time with The Colonnas , who had one biological daughter, another foster daughter and two foster sons all the same general age as Fox and who lived in the same school system so that Fox didn’t have to leave behind her best friend Octavia Blake and Octavia’s other best friend Louis Warren. It was at the Colonna’s that she overlapped with John Murphy during his brief stint at the same house who was taken away for accompanying Fox on a routine delinquency trip to try to force a confrontation with her parents. It turned out that what was routine for Fox, cost Murphy his spot in the house. Thankfully he showed up at Polis in his own apartment and she has a chance to make it up to him. 

Post Colonnas she got a job at Sanctum Diner thanks to a head line cook who did his time at the same foster home years ago and has a soft spot for strays. There she got to know some of her regulars: Nicklas Williams, a cute in-training firefighter she has to fight the other waitresses to get into her section, Nina Wilde, a fellow waitress who left with a tab owed on broken dishes, and Clarke Griffin, a med student who became her roommate alongside Nina. 

She also works at Eligius Nighclub alongside her childhood friends, her the waitress in their dancer-waitress-bouncer combination, and is also where she got to know Peter Colton, a musician who plays on occasion. While Octavia is adamant that dancing pays better, with her two jobs she’s satisfied for the moment as a mostly-clothed waitress. But who knows what the future holds.

Regina Mills ;; wild & free verse bio

          Regina wasn’t always the girl she is today. There was a time when simple things in life were enough for her, she spent a lot of her time at the stables, riding horses, and just being happy with the sense of freedom she had. However, she always felt as though her mother was disappointed in her, like she was just never good enough. The time then came when her mother decided to marry into a richer family, and decided to put Regina into her current college, disregarding Regina’s own wants as she felt it would be her best chance. 

          With Regina feeling as though her life was completely out of her hands, like she was no longer free and was more so trapped, and being heavily influenced by her mother, her personality took a turn for the worse. Instead of the kind, selfless girl she had been, she became a lot more bitter, bratty and bitchy. What she shows on the outside is a girl who does and gets whatever she wants, and if you stand in her way, you’ll regret it, though on the inside she is still quite the vulnerable and impressionable girl she’s always been.
