how do you unwind at the end of a long day?

long overdue on this answer but typically i'll come home and take off my makeup/sunscreen/etc then eat dinner with a glass of wine or if i've already eaten, then make a cup of tea. realistically after that i'll scroll on insta, tumblr or pinterest but i'm trying to be better about that and instead read for a bit or watch one of my comfort youtubers :) if it's been a long day i'll usually be tired earlier than usual so i'll just go to bed once i notice my eyes feeling heavy, but set an alarm with enough time in the morning to get things organized for the day.

a favourite book of yours that you don’t like recommending to people so you can keep it to yourself?

The Blue Castle by LM Montgomery.

I don’t recommend this book to people unless I know it’s something they will value as I do.

What's the first thing you notice about someone?

I’d love to say it’s something cute or cheesy like eyes or a smile but because of my habit of walking with my eyes to the ground it’s typically their hands or noticing if their carrying anything first.

hey chelsea!! i'm so glad i was able to give you a change of perspective!! and i love that you thought of it like that like belonging somewhere bcs that's absolutely right.

when i was still living in the philippines, i heard the word being used all the time when it came to school and your class and i thought it just made so much sense. however, when i moved to the united states, batch isn't really used (unless you say smth like a batch of cookies) and they usually just refer to the same thing as class, grade, or cohort. the thing is, those three words didn't really emanate the same feeling for me bcs, well, batch just made sense,,, you know? that's why i always end up associating it with the philippines and, whenever i hear someone using it in that context, i'm always like "yep they're filipino" kfjkdjsf. honestly, it's just so cute and it's another one of those cultural things that really cannot be replaced no matter what.

also can i just say how immensely adorable it is that we don't usually say "class of '20" but instead we say "batch of '20" or smth like that like it's just so,, precious?? whenever i see or hear people using it, it just makes me smile. i live in a small town and there's not much diversity around so i don't really have any filipino friends and, whenever i see the word being used (like here on studyblr), it helps me realize that they're not as far away as i thought!! it's beautiful. i hope you're having a great day too; thank you so much for stopping by!! ✨
