The wording for Elle's plot sounds intriguing. Her exact words are "When you put your hand there, all of my dysphoria just hit me." Not something like 'I suddenly felt some dysphoria' or even 'my dysphoria came back'. The wording implies a build-up that we'll see before that moment.

Lambert was built up in S2 as a haven for Elle compared to the transphobic hellscape of Truham (and Higgs presumably, but we didn't get any of that), but will we see that it's not as simple as changing schools, that bullies - be they peers or staff - can be found anywhere?

Or is it a different source? During the beach trip in the comics, Elle mentions being unable to visit Egypt due to transphobic laws. Perhaps she has a video call with her family and someone slips up (similar to Donna's mother in DW). Maybe there's been an issue with her transition, like she's been unable to get puberty blockers or she has discovered that the surgery she needs has a years-long waiting list (a very real and painfully common issue for trans people).
