What’s the WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

I genuinely want to finish Dead to Rights, but I paused it indefinitely when I got pregnant, and I won't pick it back up until the topic of difficult pregnancies/risk of miscarriage stops squicking me out. I love it a lot, and there's a lot I want to say there, but the Creature will need to grow a bit bigger before I'm comfy writing it again.

What’s your writing strengths?

Uh. No idea, actually. I feel like I struggle with everything haha. Possibly writing banter? Not sure...

What’s your writing weaknesses?

EVERYTHING, if you ask me. Though the thing I struggle with the most is endings. It is SO HARD to find a good stopping point that doesn't ring hollow.

Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?

Not a full dialogue. A couple of sentences at most. I mean, I'm a native French speaker, so I could do a full conversation, but honestly I find it so unpleasant to read I wouldn't put it in my works.

how easy are jellyfish to kill don't ask why im asking

Oh! I'm not sure why you would ever want to see a jelly die but I can give you a general rating scale to tell you exactly how to not treat a jellyfish if you want it to live ^-^.

First I'll make a kill rating scale. 0 for would die upon birth and 10 for like, a cockroach idk.

As a whole, jellyfish have a kill rating of like. 4/10. Some of the bulkier ones can take a hit, but they're like 95% (97% in some cases) water so like. You could drink them to death if you wanted to.

On the lower end of the jellyfish kill spectrum (2/10), we have the ctenophores. That's right. Comb jellyfish.

They're weaksauce and hold VERY poorly in preservation conditions (some swear by a 5% formalin solution but realistically they're gonna fall apart haha)

Some, like the beautiful Venus girdle, could shatter upon contact with a particularly strong current

Which is a shame because I hate when pretty strips die :(

Anyways, ctenophores are really only dangerous to zooplankton so they're just pretty harmless all around.

Next is pretty much every jelly, which I'll be nice and give a rating of 4/10. Tbh most jellyfish can take minor injuries like champs. Lose half of your bell? Just regenerate it on like, a day or two idk.

They can shrug off a lot of bad and even life-threatening conditions if given the proper space to heal. But for pretty much every species, you can't count on life cycle reversal and ultra regeneration to save your life most of the time. (this is why the turritposis genus and hydra genus is a SHAM. Please for the love of god don't think they're indestructible or immortal they're just silly guys)

basically, just be really rough with them and 8 out of 10 times they'll die.

In the slightly harder to kill category (so like, 4.5-5.0/10) we have some of the heavy class jellyfish, like the Lion's Mane and Echizen Kurage (Nomura's Jellyfish)

These guys are just... big. So naturally they have more HP, and can take more hits from enemies.

Nature loves them, fisherman hate them. It's our big class jellyfish :))

For general guidelines on how to not treat a jellyfish, I'll just give you a list on what scientists have done to induce reverse ontogeny and stuff :/

Introduce to heavy metals. Not the music

Note: If your species is known to reverse their life cycle, theres a chance they might come back anyways.

And definitely, DEFINITELY do not bring out the jellyfish Shredder to efficiently dispose of thousands of jellyfish in minutes.

Also, back in the early 2010s (I think? I saw this on a documentary like YEARS before my first jellyfixation), japan has to resort to these in order to prevent the Echizen Kurage done totally collapsing ocean ecosystem (or harming fishing industries. Either or ig) and while it did temporarily solve the problem that year, there's just one thing that jellies are good at.

Reproducing. (I forgot but there's a word for really efficient breeders. It might've been on Snake Discovery's cricket tour video)

Anyways, they released a ton of eggs upon being shredded which p much guarantees that the next year will be even worse. idk how they solved that but man. It's chilling, isn't it?

The tone Sham uses is more in line with his own personality rather than the cheerful-sounding cadence of the store clerk he pretends to be with this particular vessel. 

On some level, it is upsetting to have essentially lost an incognito identity like this, but none of his other vessels had been closer. It’s similarly frustrating to have lost a valuable casual connection with such a potentially useful person, but there will always be other vessels. At the end of the day, Sham needs this information done away with more than he needs anything else. Holding all the cards of his own existence is the only key to survival anymore---unlike his thousands of vessels in America, the international vessels he’s accrued over the past decade or so don’t have any sort of significant sway, even despite some of them being in high places.

That had to change sooner or later. In any case, I won’t sit by and be an idle watcher forever; I need to make sure my identity remains a secret where it counts.

That’s why the folder at his feet which very well could have spelled out the secrets of the alchemists had to burn; that’s why the innocent store clerk had to have ulterior motives. There’s nothing personal about it, which is why he doesn’t even bother apologizing. It’s not like they knew eachother well---after all, even besides the fact that this vessel had only interacted with ‘Loid Forger’ professionally, Sham knows that both of them had been acting.

Either way, I have other connections to him. Still, what a shame.

peony - honor's compelling but truth for me all the way. there's the whole Catholic aspect to that for me to be sure, but even beyond that, honor at the expense of truth feels like a sham. truth though, even when there's some perceived shame with it, has in itself inherent honor and the integrity which comes with unabashed truth is nearly priceless.

alstroemeria - i would love nothing more than to spend a month in europe to visit most places but especially spain, rome, france, greece, and belgium. i'd absolutely hit the other countries while i was there but i'd love to enjoy a lunch at a french cafe after visiting a cathedral; visiting athens and reading my plato where socrates debated athenian nobles; see the vatican after wandering roman streets; enjoy the spanish beach; look at belgian castles with a street waffle in hand. in a perfect vacation, i'd swing by the uk to see a museum, happen upon neil gaiman (my favorite author by far) and enjoy dinner with him while we talk about art, comic books, and what makes life great (and then he'd pull some strings and get me published haha). i'd top it all off with a week in cork, ireland at a quaint bed and breakfast while i meet people, write, and otherwise enjoy existence.

Riverdale should have been a Disney show

Riverdale should have been a Disney show. There I said it. I'll admit the first season was fine Great even. Self-contained with an intriguing mystery and you waited at the edge of your seat for what will happen next. But then... Part of the problem for me is because I've read the original comics since I was a girl. I still do get some from my mom, and the way they have changed the characters just bug me.Betty used to be the girl next door, always hopeful, smart, trying to figure out the mystery. And it was perfect that she was a reporter because Betty was always someone who valued honesty so her being the roving reporter was perfect. And her taking pills for anxiety or some sort of disorder was also a nice take because she does take on so much, and tries so hard to help and be good and nice and perfect. All the stress. Archie was also great in the first season. A bit horny, but he means well, and he truly is an average American boy so his big trouble of choosing between music and football. He's a klutz and sometimes his plans go sideways but he means well, he's all for family and Riverdale and school spirit. None of this whole Red Hood/semi mafia/wrestling nonsense. I actually really liked their take on Veronica, she still a bit materialistic and thinks she can depend on her wealth to get her out of trouble but I do like their take on trying to be enterneauripal and working to act less high class society girl as she was used to. 

Jughead, I'm conflicted with. Because he's good I guess as a brooding, investigative journalist he's good. It fits the setting of the show. But I do have a soft spot for him as the sane man to Archie. Going about his business, surprisingly philosophical. And you can't forget the most important attribute to him. His love of food! I miss that. Like the one scene in season 1, I forget what exactly but basically he ordered burgers and when Cole Sprouse just protectively held the burger to him...such a nice touch. That sort of guy I can see as a DCOM. The genius ditz I guess it's called. But he's not dumb. He just prefers napping to being awake. 

Now the others...omg.I have a bone to pick when it comes to the other characters in Riverdale. Josie and the Pussycats-- they are such lively musicians who solve crimes, sometimes in space. ABsolutely wasted here. Melody barely had any lines. And they didn't have Alex or Alexandra Cabot which was such a shame. I know, I know they're in the new Katy Keene show but having them be step-siblings who used to date is wrong and weird and bad and no! Stop having the twins in these shows with vaguly incesteous feelings. It's weird!

Kevin Keller, all his storylines revolve around his bfs or lack of bfs or how much he wants a bf. The Kevin of Archie comics was so much more well-rounded. He was head of ROTC, he was class president, he ran marathons, he was Veronica's bff, he was a reporter. He had an appetite to match Jughead's. He even had a brief crush on Jughead! He was so much better than this sham. He was confident in who he was and did his best to help others feel good about themselves too because he knows not everyone is lucky to come out as LGTBQ in a supportive environment. 

Reggie. I think not giving him enough of an arc in season 1 really backfired because if he appears, it's only as Veronica's arm candy. Which is a shame because he is a good contrast to Archie. A bit richer yet a cheapskate. Thinks he's a casanova, loves being the class prankster. A modern day politician with his sweet words when all he cares about himself. Basically like 

Yet he has his hidden depths with his neglectful workaholic parents and jealousy of Archie's popularity. Cheryl. Omg Cheryl. They have ruined you here. I'm sorry, I do NOT find any of her lines iconic. It's like she swallowed urban dictionary and a gothic novel and came out all jumbled in a google translate. She may be abused but the way she still treats others like shit and gaslights her gf and makes everything about her is just...ugh!!! OMg, comics Cheryl is actually fun and iconic. She's as rich and pretty as Veronica and unafraid to use it. She wants to be a star like a modern day influencer. She's a red-haired Sharpay Evans basically. 

Also Jason, her twin whom they sadly killed off. He was also fun like a meaner, snobbier version of Reggie. But with a huge crush on Betty which I think could have been used to milk such drama. 

Polly also got hit badly. She was a good older sister. She was a reporter, and inspired Betty's enviormental-feminist activities. A sane person. Not a cult worshipping cuckoo. Toni Topaz, ah she was so good in season 2 and then they made her Cheryl's arm candy. Alas. I liked her as a friend to Jughead. In the comics, she was his equal in food contests. That's no small feat. She was cool, and joined Betty's band and... she was her own person. Remember when Toni used to be a photographer for the South Side paper. Yeah. Basically Toni as a 3d character with personality. Please return. 

Dilton. Oh Dilton. Once the smartest person in the Archie universe and they turned you into a survival freak to get killed by the gargoyle king. Or whomever. I just remember he got killed somehow. Honestly, they should have stuck to smart Dilton. They need a smart scientist there, cuz no one is using their brains in Riverdale. 

Chuck. They have done you SUCH A DISSERVICE! So so bad. Chuck was a good person! He was a cartoonist, and a basketball player and Archie's friend. (Yeah, that's right Archie has friends in the comics. Even though Riverdale makes some effort to show Archie and Jug's bond, they're mainly consorting with their gfs. In the comics, they had guy nights. Reggie, Chuck, Kevin, Dilton, Moose. Come on show. Friendships are just as important.) And what did they do, make him a lying scumbag, turn him good and then have him arrested because of what Cheryl did! No, no no. Bad writers. Just no. Ethel Muggs. You have also been wronged in season 3. Making her a crazy freak. Ethel in season 1 was nice. Ethel in the comics is nice. Plain but with a good heart even though she had a slightly obsessive crush on Jughead. Here, making her cult worshipper.... smdh.  Okay at this point I know I sound like a bitter, bitter person complaining how it'S nOt liKE tHe cOmICs. But hey, I admit season 1 was good even if they changed the characters a bit. It’s just that I watched Riverdale because of the property it derived from. Because of the comics. At the least I expected some faithfulness to the characters. Not make them all so inconsistent and crazy. 

It's just the writing is so inconsistent! The plots hop around and so do their moods. Bughead and Choni broke up for one episode and then they got right back together. Even though they had VALID reasons to break up. Nope. That made fans mad. So they had to get back together. Ugh. And Archie got attacked by a bear and was so traumatized that he broke up with Veronica because "he's changed" for like two episodes before forgetting about it and going back to Veronica. Oh which brings me to the ridiculous "love triangle" of Archie/Reggie/Veronica where she couldn't choose. Please, Archie and Veronica were reuniting and planning to go run away for a weekend together. Reggie was completely forgotten until he walked in on them. And Veronica couldn't decide because she loves them both? No, she didn't. She may have felt bad to tell Reggie but it's not because she loved him. Forgetting a guy so quickly...yeah great proof of love. Horniness maybe. But her indecisiveness makes her look bad. Don’t tease a will they, won’t they when the answer is so obvious.  If you're going to do something like that, you should have there be something called CONSEQUENCES! They can get back together but at least wait. Wait 8 episodes at least so they can have character development. But who am I kidding. Character development is not the goal of this show. The character's just move because the writer's want them too not because it fits their personalities. Such as Archie's grieved reaction for baby Teeth in season 3. 

Not only do I have no idea when (the ridiculously named) Baby Teeth appeared, much less why Archie or I should care about his death. But sometimes the show juggles too much. Too many characters. Too many plots. It's all so ugh!!! So my final thought on this is... Riverdale should have been a disney channel sitcom. Archie comics are about family friendly entertainment and sometimes imparted lessons... well so does Disney. I get the appeal of having Riverdale reach a new teen generation, but from what I can see the only big thing Riverdale on CW is that it allows alcohol and gartituous sex scenes. 

Which is another small gripe of mine. I can handle sex scenes (hello Magic Mike XXL) but so many at such inappropriate moments too It's like that scene in an action movie where they suddenly kiss when they should be running for their lives. No teen is that horny all the time. Plus there's always less is more. If one kisses so much it loses the meaning. If you think your shirtless Archie is going to distract me from lack of plot haha. No. Plot and consistency still sucks and shirtless Archie does not make it better.

But Riverdale as a Disney show can work. After all the comic stories are a bit formulaic. It's all high school hijinks. And all the characters fit an archetype. Archie, the protagonist. Veronica, the fashionista. Betty, the reporter. Jughead, the slacker. Reggie, the class clown/bad friend. Cheryl, the Sharpay, Kevin, the sane one. And if people want a season long story arc with dramatics, Disney can actually handle it too. After all they had the mysterious "threat' lurking in the background of My babysitter's a vampire season 2. Or the Juliet and Mason saga of Wizards of Waverly Place. And if people want adult situations, look on to Jessie. Rewatching an episode now, there were so many adult jokes and references that flew over my head so they could sneak those in. Heck, Disney channel is infamous for all the innuendos they manage. And they handle consistency. Cody and Bailey broke up in Suite life on deck, they actually stayed broken up for a good half season. Gabe matured from a prankster tween to teen in love in Good Luck Charlie. Actions have consequences, characters grow. Storytelling 101

And the best part is they don't even have to think too hard for the plots of the week. They literally can build on stories from the comics. All 80 years of it. And I have put some examples right here from my own Archie comics. Like Veronica literally being the fashion police.

About this Revival of a Revival business

Okay, so some of you messaged me about my feelings regarding the Metro article on Gilmore Girls Part 2: Three Women and a Baby, and some asked what it means for my stories, so I’m just going to address it in one long post because it’s easier than doing 15 different PMs. And maybe only three people will see this, but whatever (too few follower problems haha). Warning,  extreme ramblings and nonsensical arguments are below. 

My main gripe about all this is that AYITL ended perfectly for what the Palladinos wanted to achieve, despite the anger I had over it. Everyone got their okay-ish ending, and most of all people could speculate what would become of Rory, kind of like the end of Season 7. Fine, leave it at that. Great ending. BUT WAIT THERE’S MORE!

Emily’s story was perfect. Honestly, it was the best part. Kelly had fantastic lines and was tremendous. Amazing. Can’t think of enough adjectives. But for those of you who don’t know, Kelly really had to make it work. Her husband is ill, so one of the kids had to move up from Florida to stay with him while she was in California. It took a lot of finagling to get Kelly available. If her husband is ill would she want to do that again, and get a kid to take time off to help? So I get the feeling Kelly would be in very little (or watch ASP kill Emily off). Shame, because Lorelai’s relationship with her parents really makes the show for me.

Lorelai’s struggle over the death of her father was so wonderful. That phone call in Fall just about killed me. It was everything I wanted back in the original show. Again, Lorelai’s arc was just what I needed. Now with Luke. Most of the whole manufactured drama with Luke was because Amy said it always upset her that the fans never got the wedding they always wanted. So they needed a way to put the wedding in there. BUT THEN – they couldn’t even do the bigger wedding because shockingly all that money had to go into producing that stupid, annoying musical.  And what would be their great manufactured crisis now? (Watch, one of them gets deathly ill or something). And now Lauren has a pilot – what’s going to come of that and trying to get her in the Revival Part 2: All Night Dance Marathon Electric Boogaloo?

Rory’s career arc was just flabbergasting. The reviews were right – feels like it should be about Rory in her twenties. After all these years she couldn’t go hmmm I need a job? Nothing about her career makes sense. How does she afford to travel? What is she even doing? Then she gets her big break with eccentric Naomi to write a book, which goes down the toilet, won’t even bother to try with Suzy says and Conde Nast, just ew. And then Jess appears and after four years goes “write a different book about your mom!” Which let me tell you, angers me no end. Not only is it as meta as fuck, but this is not a “fix it”, Rory. She will still need money to live before the baby shows up. That’s if someone decides to publish it. Then she’d have to find a way to support herself after it is published. Just, ew. It’s a cheap as hell solution to a much larger problem. But again, everything is swept under the rug by ASP and Co! So Miss “I want to be the next Amanpour” will just be floundering in the Hollow? *vomits* 

I said long ago that I would be perfectly fine with whatever the Palladinos had in store regarding relationships. Naïve ole me thought they’d all just show up for a cameo. Listen, I never shipped. I still have magazines debating Jess versus Dean, but I didn’t shed a tear when they left. I was always like well Rory has moved on. Then the details of the revival came in. At first I thought, well the only one I could really see being all that serious would be Logan. Then spoilers trickled in and we knew he was in quite a bit, so it got me thinking. They spent a lot of money on Matt. Milo, who worked very little in early 2015, was only on set four days. It seems like Logan was going to be the contender. Alright, fine with me. I can deal with that. Makes sense. It was her most serious relationship and they loved each other very much. Can I go back to being that naïve again? 

Then Amy and Dan said “I don’t know why people pay attention to who she dated in high school. Over and done with.” (That makes it seem to me like Dean and Jess don’t have a future btw) Amy and Dan acting like Rory’s relationships are not a big deal just annoys me no end. They were a big deal. OBVIOUSLY, IT’S THE BIGGEST ONE OF THEM ALL BECAUSE OF THEIR DUMB ENDING. So that brings me to the boys. 

Dean was always the most blah. But his ending was great. Have fun shooting in Vancouver Jared because we really never need to see you again!

God, I’m so angry about Jess. We still don’t know very much about him, other than he’s an author and lives somewhere… and visits Stars Hollow often to see Luke and Doula. Still has a thing for Rory who just can’t really give him any attention (sad as hell). There’s so much I want to know about him! Again, they could have scratched that dumb musical for more Milo. He was available. I know Jess has a lot of fans, but I would personally need a lot of Rory/Jess scenes for a possible romance with Rory in Gilmore 2: Judgement Day. Rory said “I might have loved you,” but she never really reciprocated so I never got the feeling she ever did? So would Rory just go from not really paying attention to him for these last eight years to thinking he’s the love of her life? What? Even ASP and Dan went “they’re star-crossed and family now” so the rational side of me thinks that’s never going to happen. But then I think about how Luke was never intended for Lorelai but they changed because of the fans. And there are a lot of fans out there. But would Milo be involved in Revival Part 2: Return of the Krakenbaby? He’s in a popular show now. I don’t watch TV but I hear he has a big part.  Won’t he be busy?

Then Logan! We know nothing about Logan! Why is he working with his father? Why is he Rory’s sounding board? Why is he the only one who knows what’s going on with her? Logan is her best friend, more than Paris and Lane.  I know people don’t agree with me, but honestly, OS Rory and Logan had a mature, adult relationship. Logan understood her Stars Hollow and Yale life, didn’t disparage her about it, called her out on her privilege.  Again, naïve ole me thought that Amy and Dan thought Logan was it based on the way they wrote him with all those stupid marriage references. Boy was I wrong. Listen,   Alexis said we’d know who had won her heart. I think Alexis knows it’s Logan. So let me move onto this sham of a relationship they had. 

They are having an affair, but it doesn't seem like an affair because it’s pretty serious for them? She’s basically living with him. Remember, Naomi’s book was going to take eight weeks. So she’s living with him for those eight weeks and who know’s how long she’s been crashing there before. She’s getting her shit shipped there. So this has been going on long enough for her to have the audacity to do that? They are going on to eat all the time, having fun, he’s planning dates. They are both putting in the effort to have this serious affair when neither of them do not put that effort into their other lovers. AND THEN we learn about his fiancee. I was like wow what the hell Amy why are you both making them so shitty. And I was all aboard the Logan doesn’t care enough to break it off train because for some reason he still wants to marry Odette but then… DYNASTIC PLAN? WHY in the world would they write that if it didn’t have some meaning? So does he not want to marry her? Rory doesn’t want this nonrelationship either but won’t tell him? Okay, Amy and Dan could have easily made it a wham-bam-thanks for the sex type of relationship, but no they did not write it that way. They are putting feelings into this. Logan is begging her to tell him what’s happening. There’s such a disconnect between what they write and what they want to show. Why do Amy and Dan want us to believe they don’t care about each other in some capacity? ARE YOU SEEING WHAT YOU’RE WRITING?  So Rory are Logan are just going to shut up about what they really want in Revival Part 2: The Palladinos Strike Back Against Negative Reviews? Both will be unhappy? I just don’t get it. 

So Rory is pregnant. It’s not the Wookie’s, it’s not Jess’, it’s not Paul’s. They said the hints were there. It’s Logan’s, we all know it’s Logan’s, it goes with her full circle bullshit after all. I get the feeling that Amy was going for Rory not telling him and doing it alone because you know, Rory has to lead the shitty life, but it’s just WHAT? Lol, let’s be real. Lorelai will know it’s Logan’s. Even Lorelai told Chris and always had the door open for him to be involved for Rory’s sake. Luke would be okay with it now because… Amy wants him to be despite his history with Anna? And Logan is a freaking adult, not a damn teenager. He can support his kid. He needs to know about his kid. I don’t understand how someone she dated for three years, who proposed to her, would not like to know. This is not a one night stand. Wouldn’t he find out anyway through the grapevine? But let’s be real, he’s never going to know or be involved because it goes with Amy’s plan, despite everything she’s written to the contrary. She wants her story. Hey, if Amy actually made it a happy ending I would be shocked. But I put it at 0.001%. You know what does bring me joy, though? That Lauren, Alexis, Kelly, Milo & Matt were all upset about Rory’s ending and to repeat Kelly’s words, “it was mean.” Matt (who also has a pilot) is too nice to say no to them so he’d probably make an effort to appear and man, that’s depressing to see where Logan would be. 

Oh and let’s talk about this Life and Death Brigade business. These guys flew in from wherever the hell they were to take Rory out on the town because she was feeling upset. Something I found interesting – Rory has clearly kept in contact with them. She knows about Colin’s knee surgery. Again, Rory knows more what’s going on with her lover’s friends than her soon to be step-cousin Jess. She was putting more effort into keeping those relationships when it would have been so easy to get in contact with Jess. Then they have their big tearful goodbye where Rory is basically Mother Hen. So after all that, does ASP really think we’re to believe that pregnant Rory would just be ignored by these guys? That once they found out, one of them wouldn’t show up and be like “it’s Logans?” Remember, Colin and Finn helped Rory move out of her grandparents after she and Logan broke up. They are friends. So I don’t get it. Once again, there’s that disconnect between what ASP writes and what she wants to show.

So let’s talk about Amy’s grand plan. She and Dan said the father was going to be who was under contract at the time of the show’s ending. I’m also going to assume that it was going to be with whomever Rory recently broke up with. Someone on Reddit put together a list of each boyfriend and all their Chris comparisons (can’t copy it here), and it’s obvious now that’s what they were going for all along. And you know, after looking at that, the one I could believe that could fit that role best would have been Jess Season 3. Jess was so lost at that point and left without telling her, without a way for Rory to contact him. Rory going off on her own would have been believable. Dean, not really. Even if the relationship was doomed, Mr. Dean “I like the Donna Reed show type of life” would still be in contact with the kid. Let’s talk about Logan now.  Season 5 maybe? But Logan, the one that walked out on his family after the disastrous dinner, wouldn’t somehow be around for Rory? (And let’s remember Shira was pregnant, and that’s why Mitchum married her). Season 6 is baffling because they parted so in love and Rory is living in the apartment. She can’t hide the baby.  Season 7? (I know that’s not her season but come on) Lol, the dude wanted to marry her, Amy. So even if that was Amy’s plan all along, there’s that disconnect coming up again! 

Well, I feel I’ve gone too far yet again tonight. This is a mess.  TL;DR: I won’t be watching it Revival Part 2: The Curse of the Netflix Sequel. Part of the magic of AYITL was that they were able to bring everyone back. This isn’t Arrested Development. There are too many power players with busy lives. Could it happen? Maybe. As for me (if they do this) - I’m going to finish up the stories I’ve started/have planned and say goodbye to this fandom. I feel like the revival ruined Rory for me. Melodramatic, sure, but it’s just so sad and heartbreaking. It’s like Emily and Lorelai got these wonderful arcs and Rory became like Walter White (bad analogy but I’m tired give me a break). Jess, Logan, and Paris got shitty endings, too.  There’s a lot of happiness I wish I’d see, but knowing Amy, god knows what she has planned. And frankly, I just don’t want to feel sick to my stomach again.

GRAPS AND CLAPS REVIEWS - PCW 'MASTERS OF THE FYLDE COAST'

Hello and welcome everyone to another edition of Graps and Claps this time taking me on a trip to Blackpool for Night One of a PCW Weekender and also the return of Chris Masters to a PCW ring, so without further ado let's get into my day out.

Whilst the world and its wife was in Oberhausen having the best time ever, I was instead looking for the new Northern Monk Brewery pub in Manchester which has just opened in the last week in the old Kosmonaut pub and on first look there hasn't been much change in the furnishings but for a couple of new signs and that's about it.

Drinks wise, there are around 20 beers on tap costing anywhere between £4 - £6 a pint, plus an array of cans from the Northern Monk collection which is a vast collection. I myself on this afternoon had a 4.2% £5.50 pint of Don't Mess With Manchester that was quite fruity in taste but nowhere near the alcohol content of our Geoff's Imperial Barrel Aged Dick Kicker. With that said this is certainly a place to visit if you are in the city.

Next pub was Port Street Beer House who were having a Siren Brewery Tap Takeover, but with that said I have probably already had all of their drinks in bottles before today, so the choice of what I haven't had was slim to none. So I plumped for a 3.8% £5 pint of Yulu which was alright but not one of their best efforts.

Final pub before we set off to Blackpool was The Piccadilly Tap to get a taste of Germany that we were missing this weekend with a pint of Kostrizer Black Lager, sadly though even though it went down well it was lacking a bit in flavour where if we were in Germany it probably would have found its flavour.

Arriving in Blackpool for 5pm, we made a visit to two lesser visited pubs/bars in Blackpool, first of was The Hop which is maybe the closest pub to the station, this pub has plenty of seating and also big space for a pool table and 2 dartboards. Drink selection is up there with the best for real ale in Blackpool with 4 cask ales and around the same number on the cold tap, also costing under the £3 marker.

Next up was a place called Bootleg Social which comes under the Pieminster banner of bars and pubs, this on first look, looks like a new concert venue that has been introduced into the town and I would say it is a welcome addition to a place which is in need of places like this.

Drinks on offer were cans of beer from Signature Brewery of London costing £6 for 2 cans anything ranging from Vienna style lager to Stout, we also had a pool table (£1 a go) and a band who was playing that evening do a soundcheck which in no uncertain terms sounded like Ilja Dragunov's noise what he came out to at Wembley. Toilets in this place were a solid 8/10, very clean and well kept it just needed more decoration in the walls.

A swift pint or two was had in the two Wetherspoons with a Phoenix Brewery West Coast IPA being the highlight costing £1.59 with my 50p Camra discount taken off. Drinks done it was time to get into Blackpool Tower Circus for the evening's action, so lets get into what went down!

With an attendance of 400 which was alright considering that I found out off Promoter Steven Fludder that outside the venue was supposedly one of Blackpool's biggest nigbts away from the illuminations with a show that was being headlined by Sooty and Sweep.

Show started 30 minutes late, due to wrestlers being stuck in traffic and some not turning up for one reasons or another e.g Sha Samuels on a last minute bino in Amsterdam, Adam Brooks having to go back to Australia because his mum isn't too well and so on and so on.

First match up on this evening was a tag team match with the ever confident James Finn and Dave Birch taking on A.C Stryker who has been making a name for himself on the PCW undercard and he was teaming with Kieran Kelly who plys his trade on the underground Scottish scene.

On first impression Kieran did well for himself hitting a couple of dives and not looking fazed on his PCW debut, he is in a singles match with Philip Michael on the Leeds show so I look forward to that. Sadly for Kieran and A.C they ended up on the losing side of things as Finn and Birch hit an assisted Lung Blower with Finn hitting a move which can only be described as the following :- Cock Block/Penis Punch/Dick Dive for the 3 count.

2nd match was a Teacher vs Student match with the returning Philip Michael who hasn't been seen in PCW for a couple of months now despite being one of the best up and comers on its roster and he was taking on our boy Ashton Smith who as ever came out to myself bellowing his theme tune at the top of my voice (proper 'Mania style entrance).

Opening of this match was a feeling out process with both using counter for counter holds trying to outwit each other. Phil along the way hit a perfect plex and a face first buster for a 2 count, whilst Ashton hit a slice legdrop for a 2 count.

When Ashton was trying for a bridge pin to end the contest, it was reversed by Phil into a pinning combination of his own for the win to end what was probably match of the night and welcome sight to see Philip back in a PCW ring.

Third match was Joey Hayes taking on Twitter Favourite Bram. Now I have to be honest here and say that I didn't pay much attention to this match as we were chatting with Fludder during this (as always good value). What I did catch though was the finish as Joey Hayes hit a DDT of sorts to put away Bram in just under 10 minutes, after the match to add insult to injury Bram was chased around the tower circus circle by the kids of Blackpool baying for his blood haha 😂😂.

I think this might have been the moment where Blackpool Tower Circus officials got in PCW's ear to do announcement later in the show to tell parents to keep kids in there seats or they would shut the show down - darn circus killjoys.

Anyways I digress, we then had a Tel Banham Tel-ebration who was out to gloat about being a double champion but not before he was interrupted by Chris Masters who asked Banham if he wanted to test himself in a Masterlock Challenge but Banham was having none of it as he sent his mate BIG T in to do his bidding in this Masterlock Challenge with T locking in the full nelson on Masters.

Sadly for T, Masters was able break the lock by kicking T in the Balls but this only led to Banham, T and Iestyn Rees who had ran in to lay a beatdown on Masters until Dean Allmark and Matthew Brooks interrupted to set up a 6-man tag team main event later in the show.

Next we had Sheikh El-Sham vs T-Bone in a Blackpool Street Fight which was announced by T-Bone during a talking segment between the two where El-Sham was trying to pay T-Bone off so he wouldn't have a match with him.

As good as Sheikh at talking, this talking segment did seem to go a bit long with some of the crowd chanting 'Boring' which is a bit of a shame. When we did get down to action, this as ever went all around the circus with many children trying to get out of the way of flying fists and boots from both Sham and Bone.

Once we got back to the ring, T-Bone was well on his way to victory but not until Bram came up from behind and DDT'd Bone to leave Sham to pick up the scraps and pin the former PCW Champion - This was alright but a bit of an overly long segment as stated before.

Before the next match we had the announcement that the 23rd November at Blackpool Tower Circus had been double booked in the room, so PCW were having to move the show to the 3rd floor and a Jungle Jim's which supposedly you can fit a wrestling ring in. Here is what it looks like 👀

Semi main time we had a PCW Women's title match with Jennie B taking on the Champion Nightshade. This was a short and swift match with Nightshade dominating from the early bell and finishing off poor Jennie after spraying hairspray in her eyes while the referee was distracted to retain her PCW Women's title.

After the match Nightshade went to beat down Jennie but out came Rhio to make the save and set up for the 23rd November another match between the two in of all things - a blindfold match - My Word 😞😞 This feud must end sometime???

Main Event time next with Iestyn Rees, Tel Banham and BIG T vs Dean Allmark, Matthew Brooks and Chris Masters in a 6-man tag team match. Early part of this match was the baddies beating down on Brooks and Deano but it wasn't until Masters got involved that things changed for the good guys.

With the end in sight, Brooks went to clothesline BIG T over the top rope at the second attempt which he succeded in doing but Banham snuck up from behind to take Brooks out, but when Tel turned around he was caught with a Superkick from Deano and then finished off with the Smiles Clash for the 3 count to send the crowd home happy into the Blackpool Wet Night.

Overall this show had 2/3 good matches with Philip Michael vs Ashton Smith being the standout to probably watch back, but being honest it was possibly a skipable show but the company and the day out was still a really good one.

I arrived back in Rochdale for 1 a.m after watching some of the closing moments of the Oberhausen Open which looked great fun and well done to those who organised this for people after the wrestling in Germany, hopefully they do this in March when I am back over there.
