Fandom Trumps Hate 2024

I'm participating in Fandom Trumps Hate again this year! FTH is an auction of fanworks and fanservices to benefit progressive causes. It works by people bidding on auctions, with a promise to donate that amount to one of a given list of charitable organizations. The winning bidder shows proof of their donation to the mods, and then I write a fic tailored to their preferences to thank them! The auction runs from 8:00AM EST, 5 March 2024, to 8:00PM EST, 9 March 2024.

This year I'm making two offers:

A fic of 5-10k in length, up to E rating, in MDZS/The Untamed, TGCF, or Mysterious Lotus Casebook.

A fic of under 5k, up to E rating, in Haikyuu, KinnPorsche, or Spy x Family.

matsukawa collects the marbles from ramune bottles. he doesn’t even drink them just collects empty ones from family friends hanamaki etc. he claims to have “perfected” the strategy of getting the marble out of the bottle without causing bodily harm (it’s notoriously hard to do) and No One knows how he does it. not even hiro.

hiro is Pissed he knows everything about issei why not this he’s an asshole what gives. the marbles live in a giant jar on matsukawa’s desk hanamaki regularly Stares into the clear glass abyss he KNOWS issei is hiding a horcrux in there no other explanation . he doesn’t even Do anything with them they just sit in the jar maybe there are a few in the family fishbowl hiro seethes. he finds one under his pillow one day in the hanamaki household he jumps up and down he doesn’t talk to issei for two (2) days he hasn’t forgiven him (he keeps it in his sock drawer he fidgets with it)

there are theories as so how he does it ofc (plastic grocery bag and bowling ball, cooking knife, magic, fire even) this is a well known phenomenon most people don’t care or are blithely impressed . hanamaki is livid he and oikawa point fingers call him out for gatekeeping issei hums sips his sports drink walks to the bleachers. he is unbothered. 3 new marbles in the jar that afternoon hiro hides all of issei’s left shoes.

Watching Run With the Wind and Oofuri back-to-back was a stroke of luck that convinced me that I like sports anime. Watching Daiya immediately afterward reminded me that actually I like good anime but I enjoy a nice no-stakes procedural build-up for its own sake and sports can provide that. Watching YowaPeda after that has established that no actually I don’t even like that.

Immortal Heart (Part 1)

Vampire!Reader x Fledgling!Atsumu

It was 1:43am when your phone rang. The screen read “Yukitara”. It wasn’t unusual for your best friend to call you late at night. Even as a human, she was a night owl. It was just a result of her job as part of the Supernatural Crimes Division of the Police Department. 

You picked up the phone and swiped your thumb across the screen before raising it to your ear. “Hey Tara.”

“Hey Y/n.”

“I’m guessing you need my help?”

Yukitara huffed out a soft laugh on the other end. “You know me too well.”

You smiled to yourself at the comment. “What happened?”

“We just got through with a rescue mission. Vampire kidnapped two humans.”

“How’re the victims?”

Your friend sighed sadly. “They’d already been turned by the time we got here.”

You felt your sluggishly beating heart ache with sympathy. You had been turned in a similar fashion, kidnapped from your village over 3 centuries ago. “How old are they?”

“Files say they’re both 21. Names are Miya Atsumu and Miya Osamu. They’re twin boys.” 

“How are they taking the news?”

“Better than we expected. Osamu, apparently, has a boyfriend who is a vampire. They’ve been living together for a while now, so he’ll be alright. His boyfriend is already here calming him down.” She hesitated for a second. “It’s Atsumu I’m worried about. Kid had just gotten an apartment, and now, he has to forfeit it because the landlord refuses to house a vampire, especially a fledgling.”

It was a sad and certainly unfair circumstance, but you understood. Fledgling vampires were the most dangerous of all because they have yet to learn how to control their thirst and their powers.

“I know it’s a lot to ask, but...can you take him in? Just until he’s ready to be out in the world without supervision.”

You sighed softly. “Send me the address.”

Yukitara let out a breath of relief. “I will. Thank you again, Y/n.”

“Hang in there, Tara. I’ll be there soon.”

You could hear the smile in her voice when she responded, “I’ll see you soon.”

The house you came upon was dark and dingy. Rusted metal and barb wire was scattered around the yard. The officers milling around said nothing as you ducked under the police tape. They knew you from the many cases you had helped Yukitara with. 

The second you stepped in the door, you smelt it. Blood. A lot of it.

You followed the scent up the creaky stairs and into the hallway where you were confronted with the body of a dead vampire. His neck twisted at a jarring angle. It felt too grim to admit that you were used to the sight. Contrary to popular belief, snapping the neck and fire were the only ways to kill a vampire. 

You crouched down beside the body, peering at the strange markings on his arms. It was strange to see the swirling runes burned into his skin. Normally, any burns should heal within 1-3 days depending on how severe they were. These burns were fresh, but what was the point of them? 

You glanced to the side and noticed semi-dried wax on the floor. You raised your head and looked up at the ceiling. Something didn’t feel right with this place. You pushed yourself up. You could see the smallest strip of light above you. 

An attic?

You stepped around the body, scanning the ceiling until you found it. You jumped, hooking your fingers around the edge of the trapdoor. Your weight pulling on the seam caused it to come crashing open. You caught the ladder easily before it hit you and lowered it to the ground. 

“Y/n?” You heard Yukitara calling your name from the other end of the hallway. 

You crawled into the attic, and your eyes widened. 

There were runes scrawled across the floor in blood. The room was lit by hundreds of black candles of varying sizes. You recognized this ritual. 

That was the problem. 

Only you and the other nine Primus Vampires should know this ritual. 

Everything had been completed except for the circle of chalk around the runes. It was only half-drawn, the chalk still laying, abandoned, on the floor. 

The man had been caught just as he was about to finish it. 

“Y/n!” Yukitara called from the bottom of the ladder. “What are you doing? Did you find something?”

“Tara.”

“Yeah?”

“I need you to find every piece of information that you can on this guy. I want to know everyone he’s ever met and when.”

“I mean, sure, but why?”

“He was in the middle of preparing a ritual.”

“What kind of ritual?” 

You jumped down, landing silently on the floor beside her. “A very dangerous one.”

“How dangerous?”

You looked back at her, your expression grave. “Catastrophically.”
