Do they know how to cook and what (Human) food do they eat usually? Beta trolls edition:
Karkat: cannot cook, usually eats instant foods, especially instant curry and tofu powder.
Aradia: Questionable if she can cook other foods, but she makes the best pasta. Best not to question what meat she has in it, but usually uses bone marrow for the "meat".
Tavros: Can cook. He used to cook farm-fresh omelettes every morning, but since he started using a wheelchair, he finds soup really soothing.
Sollux: Cannot cook. Eats "gamer foods" like Maruchan instant ramen. Also actually likes powdered eggs with gravy.
Nepeta: Can cook. Most of her foods consist of things she forages herself. Her favorite is venison steak with mushroom soup.
Kanaya: Can cook. She tries lots of different cultural foods, mostly. Her favorite dish is cabidela.
Terezi: Blind people can cook, but Terezi sure can't, even with her heightened senses. She does try though, and I suppose her liking her own food counts as a success. Stay away from her food though, especially her "surprise dish" which is literally just ghost peppers in YooHoo.
Vriska: She can fry food, but not cook any other way. The fact she eats so much fried food and never gets sick of it shocks everyone else. Though, it does give her a nice range of cultural and american dishes, main courses and desserts. Her favorite is tempura with a side of fried okra.
Equius: Cannot cook, he breaks everything. Usually goes to Vriska or Nepeta's homes to eat dinner. When neither is possible, he will eat Military Ration Packs and Ovaltine with extra milk.
Gamzee: Can cook, but always cooks it with faygo. Most dishes are entire abominations, but some can be salvaged. The most edible thing he makes is Hot Wings using Faygo in the sauce.
Eridan: cannot cook. Simply goes over to Feferi's house to go eat, since he likes her cooking and seafood.
Feferi: Seafood master. Absolutely brilliant chef. Want some nice, homemade food cooked with love? Feferi makes a feast every night, filled with Paella, Halabos, Takoyaki, Sushi, Calamari, etc but her pièce de résistance is her Lobster Thermidor.

Cucina in Marco Polo Ortigas Manila Offers New Filipino Boodle Fight
Tumblr media
Cucina in Marco Polo Ortigas Manila has been one of my favorite buffet restaurants ever since the hotel opened its doors in 2014. Throughout the last ten years, the Forbes Five Star hotel has featured many different themes and events at its signature restaurants. Last year, they launched their City Zen semi buffet setup for those who want a more relaxed dining alternative during weekdays (Read: Marco Polo Ortigas Manila Launches City Zen at Cucina). This time, they are now offering new Filipino Boodle Fight sets for barkadas and groups who want to have this Pinoy dining experience inside a premiere luxury hotel.
Tumblr media
Cucina is Marco Polo Manila’s all-day dining restaurant located on the 24th floor that is well-known for its superb international and local cuisines. Marco Polo Ortigas was one of the first hotels in the Philippines to earn the coveted Five Star rating from Forbes Travel Guide, the global authority on luxury travel since 1958. Considered as the Olympics in the hotel industry, this prestigious award giving body recognizes the most luxurious hotels, restaurants, and spas worldwide. Since getting the award in 2017, it has continued to receive this recognition for seven straight years.
Tumblr media
Starting August 4, 2024, Cucina now offers its new Filipino Boodle Fight that can be shared by groups of two to eight persons. This is available daily at Cucina during its non-buffet hours so diners can still get a hearty smorgasbord of Filipino favorites in the afternoon.
Tumblr media
The Filipino Boodle Fight is available in two delicious sets. The Malasa Set starts with a platter that comes with Inihaw na Pusit, Steamed Vegetable with Homemade Shrimp Paste, and Sinugba na Manok.
Tumblr media
Together with these grilled favorites are the Inihaw na Pork Liempo and the Pina-Rilya na Pampano. These Filipino surf and turf dishes will surely make the entire table happy.
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
That's not all, because the Malasa set also comes with a big bowl of Oxtail Kare-Kare and Sinigang na Suahe. The Kare Kare was really creamy and goes well with the bagoong. Of course, Filipinos cannot eat without rice so the set also comes with a platter of Pandan rice.
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
Another option is the Malinamnam Set which has more seafood than the Malasa set. Start with the very crunchy and sinful Pork Bagnet Chicharon for appetizers, then continue with the Ensalanda, Inihaw na Tahong, and Sinugba na Kitang Fish.
Tumblr media
There's also the Halabos na Suahe that you can pair with some Lumpiang Shanghai dipped in sweet chili sauce. Condiments are all provided to complete the festive feast.
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
The highlight of the Malinamnam set is actually the Bulalo Pata ng Baka with its juicy chunks of tender beef mixed with corn and vegetables in a warm clear broth. Pour some soup on your Pandan rice for a truly Filipino dining experience.
Tumblr media
We would like to thank Melissa Ferrer and Francis David of Marco Polo Ortigas Manila for hosting our Filipino Boodle Feast at Cucina. This is a good option for diners who prefer not to get their full buffet but still want to have a full selection of Filipino dishes to share with friends and family. You can enjoy these sets at P3,500 for two to four persons and at P5,500 for groups of four to eight. See you at Cucina!

Halabos na Alimasag | Steamed Crabs
Halabos na Alimasag | Steamed Crabs
This recipe is the same as my steamed shrimps from awhile ago, only we are using Maryland Blue crabs this time. I always get my crabs fresh and I will cook it right away. If I have leftover, I store them in the refrigerator wrapped in brown paper and sealed in a plastic container. This recipe pairs well with rice and with chili vinegar dip, or you can also pair it with green mango tomato salad…

Soberbia

Living in coastal area gives you the benefit of being able to buy fresh seafoods, which is totally awesome! But then it can also affect your lifestyle when it’s rainy season mixing in with the sea’s high tide. Guess you can’t have too much of a good thing. Anyway, this recipe is super easy again, anybody can do it. There’s just three main ingredients shrimp, water and salt. It’s optional to…
