been (re)watching the ninja show and having an absolute blast

Had to get this off my chest, don't expect anyone to care- here's my Doctor who watchlist for the Moffat era.

Season five is more solid than I remember, there are really no awful episodes, it's just morphed into a mediocre sci-fi show with a sloppy overarching plot and obnoxious dialogue. The writing is a major downgrade, but the creative monsters, scenarios and scattered great moments keep it compelling enough. It's a rough start but it has a close place in my heart.

Eps. I'd skip:

Ep. six, Vampires in Venice.

Really sluggish pacing, so much that it feels like a two-parter when it isn't.

Ep. 11, The Lodger.

Not completely terrible, but it has James Corden as a main character and takes forever for the monster to show.

I did not watch the Christmas special, I cannot vouch for it.

Season 6 is better and worse in places than s5. The first seven episodes are varying levels of mid and even great, and they all build up to a pretty impressive climax in ep 7.

Wow! The show really seems to be finding it's footing.

Episode eight is one of the worst episodes of television I have ever seen. Unfortunately it is extremely plot relevant, but that isn't worth subjecting yourself to its misery.

Look up the plot synopsis and spare yourself.

Episodes nine and eleven 😱 are extremely forgettable, don't contribute to the overall plot. Skip.

I cannot vouch for the Christmas special. I've seen it but do not remember anything special. Watch at your own risk.

Season seven drops the ball extremely hard.

There's a big tone shift halfway thru, as we say goodbye to Amy and Rory. This happens in episode five, buts it's fucking stupid and a terrible decision. Skip ep. 5

Pretend that after episode four is where they get off the ride.

Episode three was so boring I couldn't finish it. Skip. how do you make an alien cyborg cowboy boring.

Ep 10, 12 and 13 are the weakest ones, especially 13. If the premise doesn't grab you, don't bother.

The 5oth anniversary is solid fanservice slop.

Season eight is a rough transition to a darker tone they abandoned anyway after this season.

Skip episodes 3,4,5,7 and 10. Embarrassingly dull television.

Not a huge fan of ep. 2 either but it isn't the worst.

The rest are fine.

I once again cannot vouch for the Xmas special. It has Nick Frost as Santa if that sounds enticing, but I was too exhausted by this season to try.

Season nine is a big improvement, they ditch the childishly "mature" tone of the past season and the show is much better for it. It isn't perfect, some episodes drop the ball.

Ep. Nine is the only standalone episode, the rest are oddly two-parters, even though they don't refer to themselves as such.

Ep. 9 was one of the most disappointing for me, doesn't live up to the great premise. Skip.

Not all episodes are great, a few of them suck, but the show is solid enough to stick it through.

5 and 6 are connected but introduce a pivotal character, so you should at least watch 6 even though it's hella dull.

Episode 11 is inexplicably great. I genuinely couldn't believe it. Why. Why only now. Watch it.

It almost validates all the mid.

Ep. 12 is a decent follow-up which isn't on the same level, but still really solid. A good conclusion to this story.

The Christmas special is pretty great, one of the only good River Song episodes.

Ep. 14 isn't terrible, but definitely not necessary.

Season ten is much more light hearted and often hoakier.

Ep 2 is obnoxious and has a terrible ending. Hate this episode. Skip.

Episodes 4 and 10 are awkward and dull. Skip.

4 isn't as much the better episode as ten is the worse.

Episodes 6,7, and 8 are a three-parter and relapse on this era's worst habits.

They set up a mystery with a deflating answer, are often dull, and try to trick the audience rather than the characters. Not terrible but definitely a low stretch of the season.

11, 12 and 13 are where the season ends, concluding in the Christmas special. (That episode being the best imo.) Really solid ending to this Doctor.

Not looking to argue or change anyone's mind. This is more so I can get this out of my head.

Y'all ever think abt how Rangs mother literally tried to kill rang while he was in the womb bc she didn't want him and only saw him as a monster?? How when he was around 8 or 10, the very own people in his village beat him, his mother just watching on, not doing anything to stop them?? How she took him with her to the forest of the starved n left him there after saying she would go collect berries, abandoning him with the evil spirits of the once living that died from starvation that she knew would rip him apart, limb from limb, flesh from flesh??

Then many years later, how his only source of family, his only source of acceptance, attempted to kill him? Then when he was once again in dire need of help in the forest for the starved, his brother told him he opened the wrong door n ended up with him instead of Ji Ah. That it was an accident he came to save Rang.

Have you thought about how Yeon had told him many times that he was sorry that he had saved him? That he should have left him to be eaten and killed?

For centuries, everyone and everything he's loved has either hurt him or died, leaving him alone with no one and nothing to count on or lean on. He's even admitted himself hes had nothing to cherish for centuries, nothing to live for, other than the chance that he could make his brother feel just an ounce of the pain he felt. For those centuries, he had believed his brother meant to kill him all those years ago.

When Yeon literally asked what he was afraid of, and Rang replied "Being abandoned. You abandoning me as well."

I started watching tangled adventures again! i’m like.... really behind & have also missed about 11 eps of s1 but at least i’m catching up.

we’re watching the rest of elementary s6 with my family now and for a really long while we’d been convinced that it was s5 cause it’s just been that long since we saw it and the last season we saw was a real shocker. don’t tell our brother tho, he will Freak from the spoilers.

assassin’s pride: much better than i thought it’d be. the magic system seems so interesting, tho i want more on the world itself! and also that last ep? i feel they skipped like ten chapters. so not cool. i rly like kufa (hot) and the op? magical. 

azur lane: everyone’s hot and it forced me to become addicted to the game. thanks. (jean bart best girl) first ep animation was spectacular. but it’s rly gone down in quality. sometimes 3d models are jarring, specially with enterprise, but whatevs. i just want more from bae like. better production quality hello? how many millions is this game making a month?

@kitsnicketts ok so the littles had a tv show on channel 11 and it replaced the sabrina cartoon’s timeslot (not the more well known one but sabrina’s secret life) which id been watching in secret and once my mom caught me halfway thru an ep so i had to steer cleer for a few weeks and when i turned it back on it WAS THE LITTLES and i was SO mad. im going to find and finish that sabrina ep right now actually i deserve justice UPDATE im researching these shows now and apparently the littles is from 1985 but i clearly remember it!!! and i found a sabrina screencap w the cartoon network logo even tho we didnt have cable then.............. lol honestly i thought the girls group, li mo’s group, did well!! i was surprised that jojo’s team won hahahah i think one thing that has surprised me so far is how supportive the girls and guys are within their own teams. i guess that shouldnt be surprising?? but at the same time, even tho its obvious that some are more popular and some are more talented, everyone seems to be friends (reminds me of ip) and they all have a lot of confidence in themselves and their groups, which is nice to see , theyre like very supportive and proud of each other

i like how rather than putting jojo and guanguan the two cute ones together in one group, they let them each be group leaders and then they led both of their groups to do happy cute songs LOL so 7 out of the 11 boys got to show off their cute sides HAHA

Hey friends. It’s that magical time of year where everyone does their annual “Here’s my favorite music that came out” song and dance. I couldn’t be happier.

I decided to start off my lists with my favorite songs of the year for a random change of pace. Staggering beautiful and subtle. Wish the album matched it.

Pure anger and fury with a fucking brutal ending breakdown.

9. August Burns Red: “Invisible Enemy”

Far and away the best music video of the year.

8. Scale The Summit: “Witch House (featuring Angel Vivaldi)”

Best guitar song of the year. Slay, Angel, slaaaaay.

Contagious optimism, happiness and energy in song form.

Simplicity. I’m an Evan Weiss fanboy for a reason.

Terror and nausea bludgeoning you with staggering, bombastic drums.
