Come And Hug Me - Episodes 7-10 Recap/Review
Tumblr media
Episodes 7-10 of #ComeAndHugMe brilliantly showcased what the victims and the murder's family side go through after a murder case. Both sides are the same; they both are suffering. The victims' side is suffering the pain of losing someone, while the murder's family is suffering the backlash of the public. What most people don't understand is that the murder's family has nothing to do with the murder. We clearly see that situation with Na Moo.
Tumblr media
Another main point is that, no matter how long it has been, both sides are still going to be hurt over the situation. Both Na Moo and Nak Won met again after many years. It's a bittersweet moment - both still like each other, but are pained by the past.
These are my favorite scenes:
Tumblr media
Nak Won comforting a broken Na Moo When Nak Won and her brother are getting driven away from the crime scene in a police car, Nak Won saw Na Moo huddling alone in the corner. It was unexpected when Nak Won got out of the car and hugged Na Moo. She comforted him by saying that it's not his fault and that he must stay alive or she won't forgive him.
Tumblr media
Na Moo and his father's take on "wickedness" How Na Moo and his father define wickedness shows how completely DIFFERENT they are from each other.
Na Moo's Father: "Wickedness is in your blood".
Na Moo: "Wickedness isn't developed. Wickedness is ... it's a choice."

Come And Hug Me - Episodes 5 & 6 Recap/Review
Episodes 5 & 6 of #ComeAndHugMe made me feel so many different emotions: heartbroken, anger, and excitement.
Tumblr media
I was heartbroken when Na Moo said goodbye to his stepmother and So Jin. I was sad and disappointed when his stepmother begged Na Moo to let her and So Jin go. You can clearly see the hurt in Na Moo's eyes to see that his stepmother would even think he would harm them. Of course, being the angel Na Moo is, he thanked her for being his mother and said she did nothing wrong.
Tumblr media
I was angry at how prejudice others are towards Na Moo. Just because he is a murder's son, they assume that he has psychopathic tendencies like his father. A recurring scene that reiterates this is his father's book reappearing at the foot of his door. This took a toll upon him, to the point where he even read a few pages. I was also angry at how disrespectful the news media are to victims. Nak Won now has panic disorder whenever she is reminded of the night her parents got murdered. During Episode 6, a reporter surprised her by asking about her real name. Nak Won started to become anxious and was not able to walk properly. Sadly, the reporters loved her response and pushed to have her talk more. This shows the lack of care the news industry has; they just want the juiciest piece of gossip.
Tumblr media
On a more positive note, I fangirled so hard when Na Moo confessed to Nak Won.(I love the significance of the cherry blossom trees whenever there is a romantic scene between them - their first meeting and both of their confessions). I also fangirled when adult Na Moo and Nak Won reunited.(*Cue the slow motion effect*) I'm excited to see how their relationship will be now.
What I'm thankful for: So Jin and Nak Won's trust and love for Na Moo. They are the only two people who doesn't look at Na Moo as a murder's son. We see that So Jin still loves her "Na Moo Oppa" very much (the phone call scene was so cute - Na Moo has such a poker face, but smiles when talking to So Jin). Nak Won is called Na Moo's paradise because she is the only person who can relieve him of his problems and be able to read his poker face. She can sense when he is having a hard time. In the present time too, each time Na Moo actually believes that he is just like his father, Nak Won's voice from the past reassure him that he is different from his father. "In those time, come to me".
Tumblr media
Something I noticed & Predictions: Nak Won's brother (Moo Won) is a bit suspicious. I'm thinking he might not be Nak Won's blood brother. During a scene where he was reading about a homicide case, he flashed back to a time where he was young. In his flashback, he had a knife and blood in his hands with 2 people lying dead on the ground (I'm thinking his blood parents). This relates back to when he confronted Hyun Moo (Na Moo's brother) about beating up a student. He asked him what if you killed him - have you ever killed anybody because you don't know how it feels to kill someone because there's no turning back.
What I like so far in this drama: I really liked how the drama switches back and forth between the past and present. At times, it gets confusing, but a good confusing - because the story-line stays mysterious and keeps the viewers guessing what's going to happen next.
If you made it this far, I sincerely thank you for reading my long review (I like to point out and break down important parts). Also, I'm sorry for the very late review. With a full-time job, I can only write reviews on my spare time. I most likely will be reviewing 2 episodes per week, unless I have extra time to write more. Please like or comment below if you enjoyed reading my reviews or if they helped you. Until the next review~ #YoonNaMoo #GilNakWon #NamDaReum #RyuHanBi #ChaeDoJin #HanJaeYi #ChangKiYong #JangKiYong #JinKiJoo

Come and Hug Me - Drama Review (Episodes 1-4)
Tumblr media
If you like crime/thriller K-dramas mixed with teenage-to-adulthood romance, then #ComeAndHugMe should be on your watch list. Come and Hug Me is about a boy (Yoon Na Moo) whose's psychopath father murdered the parents of his first love (Gil Nak Won). Because of his father's wrong-doing, Na Moo is inspired to become the opposite, a police defective who protects others. Nak Won also inspires to become an actress just like her late mother. Due to their past, both have changed their name. Na Moo is now Chae Do Jin and Nak Won is now Han Jae Yi. The first episode takes place in present time, while episodes 2-4 is a trip down memory lane of how the main OTP met and developed their relationship. Why this drama is good:
Each episode leaves you on the edge. Some of the scenes, especially when Na Moo's father appears, leaves viewers intensed and terrified.
Each episode is about 35 minutes. Because each episode is short, the story doesn't drag on like the usual 1hour episodes.
The teenage actors for the main OTP are awesome at acting. I was especially impressed with Na Moo's actor (real name: Nam Da Reum). He really knows how to show emotions in his eyes, which only a few actors could do. I see him going places in the future 👍. The adult actors have a lot of pressure matching up to the teenage actors because I have higher expectations now lol. I'm curious to see how it the adult actors will portray their characters.
What I hope for: I really hope this drama doesn't focus too much on the main OTP's romance. Though I love the main OTP, too much romance in a crime/thriller does not make the drama good. That's my review for Episode 1-4 of Come and Hug Me. I will be writing a review for Episode 5-6 within the week. Please follow me and continue to look out for it. Thank you for reading this far 😘 #YoonNaMoo #GilNakWon #NamDaReum #RyuHanBi #ChaeDoJin #HanJaeYi #ChangKiYong #JangKiYong #JinKiJoo #AdventurouSeoul
