'Cillian Murphy, Claire Foy and Barry Keoghan are among the Bafta nominees who will attend the star-studded ceremony on Sunday.

Irish stars Murphy and Keoghan are both nominated in the best actor category for their turns in Oppenheimer and Saltburn respectively.

Murphy plays J Robert Oppenheimer, the theoretical physicist described as the father of the atomic bomb, in Christopher Nolan’s epic biopic, while Keoghan plays a student at Oxford who becomes enthralled by a wealthier classmate and pays a visit to his sprawling estate in Emerald Fennell’s viral black comedy.

The Crown star Foy is nominated for the best supporting actress prize for her performance in All Of Us Strangers, Andrew Haigh’s searing drama about grief and loneliness.

Oppenheimer director Christopher Nolan will also attend the ceremony, which will feature performances by Sophie Ellis-Bextor and Hannah Waddingham...

that nolan is lowkey, we all know that but when he's at winnipeg he's just gets more expressive and shows us his personality (i love it) and when he was in philly he was stoic, serious and with no emotions. he acted like this bc he didn't like philly OR bc he was there to work and he take a more serious posture?

I wouldn't say his whole stoic, emotionless demeanour was due to wanting to come off more serious? maybe to the slightest... but to me it just seemed like his whole demeanour stemmed from how much he's never liked doing media... having to answer the same questions over and over, people writing nonsense about you... camera and mics shoved in your face... so I cannot even blame him for the moderate asshole-ish front...

The only things I could see him dislike was the obvious dealing with the media and obnoxious fans, but it's almost inevitable in his profession. Other than that he seemed like he didn't mind the actual city and organisation.

Also we have to keep in mind the times we did see him full of life was when he was back in his hometown during the off season, fully in his element with all his good buddies... so it's not a surprise we witnessed this complete 180 of him aksjdaskjds.

We're getting that much closer to the end of film awards season with the holding of the BAFTA awards. No real surprises with Cillian Murphy, Emma Stone, Da'Vine Joy Randolph, Robert Downey Jr., Christopher Nolan, OPPENHEIMER and ANATOMY OF A FALL taking some of the top honours.

Among the presenters were TED LASSO alums Nick Mohammed

who, as his character Mr Swallow, did a skit.

and Hannah Waddingham who led the In Memoriam.

The BAFTAs gave an opportunity for Hannah to reconnect with her fellow Emmy presenter Colman Domingo.

- Phi Dunster partook in some pre-awards events and the BAFTAs afterparty.
