Alfred announces, “Coffee, eggs benedict and The Daily Planet, Master Bruce. I took the liberty of presuming you would be taking breakfast in the cave this morning.” Alfred sets the tray down on a nearby table as Bruce silently holds a gun up without looking at him, his finger still on the trigger. Alfred gasps, “Master Bruce? That gun, is it...?” He trails off but Bruce speaks up. “The one he used. That night. On them. I took it from the G.C.P.D. evidence depository last year... there was nothing more they could learn from it.” Bruce unloads it, letting a bullet clank to the desk before he picks it up and stares somberly at it. Alfred stiffens up as he asks, “I see. And what precisely did you hope to achieve by stealing your parents' murder weapon, if may be so bold as to inquire...? Beyond an increased capacity for morbid introspection, that is.”

Bruce elaborates, “He fired two rounds. 117-grain hollowpoints... twenty-five cents apiece from any gun store. Is that all their lives were worth, Alfred? Fifty cents of ammunition...? He left four rounds in the clip, one in the breech, dropped it and ran—afraid to finish what he started. And I just stood there. Helpless.” Alfred tells him, “The good your parents did lives on, Master Bruce. And I, for one, am glad he left those final rounds in the gun. I happen to believe the world is better served for having you in it.” Bruce still doesn't look at Alfred or acknowledge the kind statement. He'll go on to explain that a young mother was murdered while he was on patrol and that he blames himself for not preventing it. END ID]

Multiple times, even! The effect is ruined somewhat by how bright red his face has gone. "Not that kind of plant!" Shen Qingqiu says.

I’m submitting a soft Danny thought early. To preface, i woke up with Selena in my head and listened to her music all day.

So you’re on tour with the guys, maybe you have your own band and are opening, maybe you’re crew or a friend of a friend that’s visiting whatever you wanna fantasize. You have a lil crush and Danny and he has one on you too but it’s just friendly nothing serious has happened at all. You stop after a show at this little Mexican restaurant for a bite to eat and a few drinks, and they have a live band. All through dinner you watch people dance, and you want to go out there. Your friends/band mates/crew mates decline, the Kiszka’s decline, everyone citing there’s not enough tequila in them yet. It looks so fun and you desperately want to go and twirl around, shimmy your hips and be a part of it. You’re about to lean over and bug someone one more time, when you’re tapped on the shoulder. Danny is standing next to your chair, hand extended, and bends at the waist.

“I don’t know what I’m doing out there, but I wouldn’t mind dancing with you, if you still want to.” you don’t waste another second. You let him pull you from your chair and out to the dance floor as a new song starts, and you show him how to do a basic side to side and cross back. After a few minutes, he was a natural and took to spinning you on and out and around the floor as you grinned wildly, feeling so free as your hair whipped around your head and the lights shined in the curly headed man’s eyes. Soon others from your group filtered out to the floor, inspired by the bravery of you and Danny.

After a bit, the band slows down, playing a ballad. You expected Danny to part from you, going to the bar and getting a drink but instead he spun you back into him, suavely wrapping an around your waist, his large hand splayed against your back to hold you close and the other still clasping yours, beginning to sway you around to the beat.

“Thank you, Danny, so much.” you looked up at him through your lashes. He smiled down his nose at you, giving a small shrug.

“When a beautiful woman says she wants to dance, you dance with her.” You couldn’t help the blush that lit your cheeks on fire. “I’ve never danced that way before, it was fun trying something new.”

“It was!” you agreed. It was quiet between you two, the lilting, soft trumpet of the band weaving between you. Danny took a breath, as if he was going to say something else and then stopped himself. You prompted him asking what was on his mind.

“I was wondering…if I could try something else new..” he took a deep breath during his sentence, building up the courage to speak. You nodded and he leaned down, brushing the tip of his nose with yours before pressing his lips to yours. His hand on your back pressed you closer and yours on his shoulder moved to his neck, tangling in his hair as you deepened the kiss. When you finally parted, you both couldn’t help but grin at one another.

“We should dance together more often,” you hummed as he spun you out and back in. Danny smiled down at you again before kissing your forehead.

“I’ll dance with you anytime, anywhere.”

I LOVE THIS. SHOWING DANNY HOW TO DANCE???? I didn’t know this was something I needed to experience until now. He would be blushing the whole time when he trips over his own feet for the first couple of tries. Also looking at you for reassurance making sure that he was doing the moves correctly and he would just want to impress you so much 😩

THEN HIM BEING NERVOUS TO KISS YOU???? I can’t even think straight. Just imagining slow dancing with Danny under all the lights and him looking at you and then looking away cause of how nervous he is. THEN HIM FINALLY KISSING YOU????? I’m getting weak in the knees just thinking about it.

Ok so i have decided to assign a LotR/the Hobbit character to each day of the week, based on the first letter of their name. (This idea came to me from a reblog from @blairsanne on one of my posts about fili, with a tag that said “fili friday”) and i will be celebrating them on each day of the week

The days are as follows:

Witch-King Wednesday

Thorin Thursday

Fili Friday

Smeagol Saturday

And Samwise Sunday

You could also have Frodo Friday or Theoden Tuesday or Sauron Saturday or anything else i’m too stupid to think of. I’m gonna do one of these for PotC characters in a bit :D and i might also assign characters to months too, such as Aragorn August or Arwen April or Saruman September or Nori November or Deagol December or Dori December or Dwalin December (idk i’m just thinking of these on the spot lol)

Marcia blinked her eyes open, bringing her fingers to brush against her own lips. “Did I do something wrong? Was that bad?” She asked softly, scanning Anetra’s expression.

“No, of course not. It’s just… uh. You taste like olives.” Her nose crinkled again with mild distaste.

Marcia didn’t reply for a moment, blinking slowly as she processed what Anetra had said. “You stopped kissing me because I taste like olives? What are you, five?”

“I don’t like olives!”

“Oh my god. I can’t stand you.”

Anetra licked her lips. “You’ve got a funny way of showing it,” she teased and Marcia rolled her eyes.

“Are you gonna stop being a baby and kiss me again or do I have to go find someone who isn’t ridiculous?”

“You are so lucky you’re pretty,” Anetra murmured, leaning in to press their lips together once more.
