Haunts of the Upper Great Lakes (1997) by Dixie Franklin
A bit of superstition haunts most of us -- a remnant perhaps of the memories of chillingly scary ghost stories told to us in our childhood. Northern Wisconsin and Michigan's Upper Peninsula have more than their share of ghosts and haunted spaces: from Lotta, the mysterious 'shady lady of the night' in Hurley, Wisconsin; to the ghost of Mary Green, who apparently thinks she is still the captain of the Delta Queen, an elegant paddlewheel boat that sails the Mississippi River today; to the mystery light that appears along a lonely road near Paulding, Michigan; to the various shades and ghostly occupants of homes and inns on Mackinac Island and across the Upper Peninsula and northern Wisconsin.
There are haunted lighthouses, haunted mansions and inns, and haunted woods -- all waiting for you in Haunts of the Upper Great Lakes!

sharon & janice propaganda:
best friends watching out for each other!!!!! including cooking their stalker into a nice meal
eleanor & theo propaganda:
Two people selected to stay at the allegedly haunted Hill House. Eleanor is very awkward & doesn't have much agency in her life, while Theo is much more outgoing & free. they got some kind of mixed friendship/love/hate thing going on!!!!!!! this is some conflicted lesbianisms in the terrifying setting of a house that feels wrong at every turn!
Eleanor has been a shut-in for a lot of her life, while Theo is very outgoing and fun; they become friends quickly while staying at Hill House and have such a great chemistry. I love them both so dearly- as characters, individuals, a couple, and a duo!!! Weird WLW for the win <3
Overlooking downtown Kalamazoo, the 1895-established Henderson Castle is as famous for its arsenal of ghost stories as its exquisite Queen Anne-style architecture. The 25-room house was the creation of Kalamazoo resident Frank Henderson, who spent the better part of a decade working with surveyors, engineers, and landscape architects to build his dream home. Sadly, he only got to live in the finished mansion for four years. That clearly wasn’t enough time for old Frank, as his ghost has reportedly been spotted in and around the property by several visitors. The Henderson Castle opened to the public in 2011, sharing its history through ghost-themed cocktails at its Spirits Lounge and monthly murder mystery dinners.
My novel Kings of the Earth incorporates the myth of The Wild Hunt, which (thanks Wiki) typically involves a chase led by a mythological figure, escorted by a ghostly group of hunters engaged in pursuit.
