the thing abt ppl moving to tumblr from other sites is that tumblr is currently the shittiest its ever been. like its always had problems but now its problems are less "held together with duct tape and luck" and more "desperately trying to squeeze every dollar out of the site" its a mess. they run five kinds of ads (each more annoying than the last) and then tell you that you can hide those ads by buying their own ad block. they sell merch with stolen jokes that dont even look good most of the time. 90% of the blaze posts i see are obvious bots or fancontent that will get the op ruthlessly bullied, even if they arent the one that blazed the post. tumblr live, which is such completely useless investor bait. like, welcome to tumblr! its just going to become more of an obnoxious money-making scheme!

this is borderline discourse i just gotta get it off my chest
i just find it real interesting that people who actively post stuff about the new male da characters (particularly lucanis, let us b real) such as "i want to get that man pregnant" and adjacent level of feminization will then turn around and start complaining that other fans (who are already imagining a more dominating version of him for the romance) (keep in mind neither of them really know what lucanis romance is like because the game isnt out yet) are "enjoying him wrong already".
Like it's so hypocritical it drives me crazy ehgjehghegh like hello ? sexualising him in a way *you* dont want to see doesn't make people wrong and complaining abt them publicly bc they're girlies who see male characters in a different light than u want to doesn't mean that they're wrong and ur right it's so frustrating to see this type of bs PRIOR to the game's release already.

i can't say i know much about history, wars, or gender roles i guess, but the idea of men and women being exactly opposed to war feels real silly. this might just be because i'm an american, but i know women love to support their husbands, encourage and support their sons to go join the military, and anything even close to criticizing the military here is generally met with accusations of saying u sympathize w terrorists (the enemy), and it's not a gender thing. i think if the settlers here were that freaked out, it'd make sense the men support ivar, but also i think a good amount of women would, too just because they're associated with the men wanting to participate.
yukimura doesn't bring it up in this chapter, but it kinda dances around the topic of race, in favor of focusing on gender, and i feel like that'd be more relevant than the patriarchy here. the fact that the norse don't know the lnu well and can easily call them different (bad) from them, would easily lead to them freaking out. i get the patriarchy is relevant, but yukimura repeatedly acts like women never support it at all, when i feel like its common for women to do so. i think women can even attack men for not upholding the status quo and even try and join the men in fighting against some Enemy.

nothing i hate more than seeing lolita brought up over and over again in pro/antiship discourse. please free nabokov from this bullshit he would have hated it so much. it's such a nonsense set of arguments at this point. it merits no discussion. end of
(also it's almost always someone who has never actually read the book bringing it up ... lmao. name one (1) other piece of fiction involving problematic themes)
