I LOVED IT. Top to bottom a great episode. The light comedic tone was back. There was romance. There was heart. Every second of Eda and Serkan on screen felt magical. 

AND

THE PROPOSAL!!!!  Our girl stepped up, decided she wouldn’t be controlled any longer and went after her man. She surprised him, which he’d asked for episodes earlier, and she did it in a way that was so special for them. The plane. The rings. Well done, show, well done.

I was at the D23 panel and the big reveal at that panel is that Henry's lady love is this "new universe" Cinderella. Basically Adam described the new Universe that Henry finds himself in by saying that many cultures often have different interpretations of essentially the same fairytale stories and characters. So we will be seeing a new universe enchanted forest inhabited by new versions of characters we've already seen.

hm. i like that explanation a lot more than my knee-jerk reaction to hearing she’ll just be “new cinderella”, so...interesting! hm. hmmm.

Question: Do you have any author recommendations for folks who like Lisa Kleypas? I am looking for new stuff to read.

I have enjoyed Eloisa James, which is the pen name of Mary Bly. And she’s the daughter of Robert Bly the poet (my english major is showing). 

Looking that up reminded me I need to read more of her stuff. I think I only read a couple of her Fairy Tale themed ones...I need to read more!

They were so happy to see each other, and the little look they exchanged when Aladdin and Jasmine kissed. Heart eyes. And him taking the staff away all cutely like “let’s put this away before you hurt yourself mermaid”

And her glancing at him when she takes Jasmine’s ring like “You know what’s up, right pirate?”

The knives to the neck in greeting. The “slap some sense into your ignorant pirate ass” tough love.

Helping him realize the right thing to do, even if sometimes it wasn’t really her.

All the hugs (again sometimes not her).

Trash talking Blackbeard.

Her knowing all the pirate bylaws and correcting him.

Him being like “Mermaids are the fucking worst, except this little redheaded one. She’s cool.”

Just the whole idea of Captain Hook and a mermaid really. Like picture the climax scene of The Little Mermaid with The Jolly and Captain Hook at the helm instead.

Just…. picture it.

She doesn’t have a voice but he talks enough for both of them.

Really appreciating her corkscrew collection when he’s trying to crack into a new bottle of wine.

Bringing her home ridiculously shiny human objects, some of which he doesn’t understand being a man out of time himself.

“It’s a staple remover, I’ve no idea what a “staple” is but we will have the means to remove them should we ever have the occasion to find out.“

Like….it’s tough sometimes man. People are just too damn attractive and look like their mouths should go on one another.

Did you watch the new SCK episode yet?

Hello! Yes, I’ve seen it. So much good Eda and Serkan in that episode. It felt like finally having quality time with them. Even though the uncertainty of their relationship was hanging over them, they were both prioritizing the other over the distractions, acting as a unit, and enjoying being together. Lovely. 

The episode had some interesting structural... challenges. LOL. One day lasted like 5 years with multiple, random wardrobe changes and set dressings. Something must have happened with the shooting schedule or something because no professional writer would structure things like that. (I hope!) I’m putting together my thoughts on the episode and going more into that, but the heart was there and that’s all I really care about. 

On another note, I am laughing because there was such an uproar (not here really, but on twitter and IG) because of this from the summary: “However, Semiha, the paternal grandmother of the secret partner, shakes Serkan’s trust. Serkan immediately leaves the company, Eda chases after him and tries to tell him that she did not know the identity of the secret partner until that minute. Serkan does not listen. Eda does not give up. She goes after Serkan.”

Most of us thought that would be really overblown and misleading and the trust issue would just be a small part at the start of the episode, but even I didn’t call the entire thing being just plain WRONG.

WTF? Is the English translation just that bad, OR does the person who writes the description not read the script? (The episodes are done so late, the promo people probably don’t get access to them prior to writing the description, so they have to go off a script or maybe from dailies?) Or did the script change that much?

Be safe. That's really chicken shit of your job. Here in Hawaii where we rarely get hit, they tend to be over cautious. I hope, if we do experience a major hurricane in the future, people don't become too blasé because of the number of "false alarms" we've had. But better to be safe than sorry.

I was pulling into my parking space at work when they called to tell me not to come in... Sigh. In any case, that relieved some stress from the situation. So I was able to go shopping and buy some last minute supplies of candles and food. But I’m shocked by how no one in the malls or at the store seemed at all concerned (there’s so many new transplants to South Florida. They’re in for a rude awakening.) I’ve lived through some bad hurricanes, I know exactly what can happen when you don’t prepare. Anyway, thanks for your kind words! I appreciate it <3

Stay safe dude. If I were you, I would fake illness and just prepare for the worst, ESPECIALLY if you feel you're out of practice.

Thanks! Luckily they realized how fucking stupid it was to be open a day before a storm, and told me not to come in. Thank god, because I have so much yard work to do.

don’t let it make you sad. I’ve been thinking that this is probably something I should do for a while.

I will still put out a few after the finale, but after that (over the summer) I’m just really hoping to be harder on myself before I publish whatever floats my boat. :) 

Mostly because as I said, there’s just SO much content from this fandom. And I don’t really feel I need to be there... adding to it. ..does that make sense?

I really feel like that speaks to the strength in construction of KJs character and Colin's amazing face that I can see aspects of him in virtually every romantic interest.

Hi! Where do you watch Sen Cal Kapimi with English subtitles?

Hello! This post here gives you the options I know about. I usually watch on the FB group because I can use the Facebook Watch app on my TV and it works great. Once the captions are up on the official youtube channel version, which usually takes a week or two after it originally airs, then I usually watch there too, that way I get a second set of captions and I give them the views.
