S4 under Munakata really need more appreciation omg. The amount of time they clean up other mess especially Munakata and Fushimi. One the good thing from RoK is that we see a glimpse of Munakata's emotion when he quarrel with Fushimi. The close up of his hands show how that quarrel was also painful for munakata. Although Munakata being Munakata must have prepared for the situation when for Fushimi to left Jungle when he was found out, it still didn't change the fact that Munakata have to put Fushimi in danger to save the world.
The gold king, I'm sure he know the danger of Suoh's sword from fallin, what effect it will cause. But he doesn't seems to be care that much about it. And there's Mizuchi (is that his name) case too, the gold even ask specifically for Fushimi's help.
I can see why Munakata was very fond of Fushimi and annoyed with Shiro who run away. Fushimi is someone who really face his own problem, like on LSW we can see it. Being a very genius, Munakata probably so happy to find a genius like Fushimi. Munakata was probably smiling in his office knowing that Fushimi being Fushimi probably create a system during his time in intelligence to place the old system
Is it time for another Periodic Munakata Appreciation Post (™)? Time for another Periodic Munakata Appreciation Post (™). Munakata definitely spends a lot of time cleaning up messes and not getting any appreciation for it, though to be fair he likes cleaning up messes. I do think it’s worth noting that Habari’s S4 was dealing with a very different situation than Munakata’s, Habari’s Blue clan and Kagutsu’s Red clan were truly enemies (versus the more ‘friendly’/sexual tension rivalry of Munakata’s clan vs Homra) and Habari’s people were constantly being put in danger or even killed due to the actions of the Red clan. In that case it’s somewhat understandable that there were only so many members of Habari’s S4 that Munakata found useful at all, a lot of the most loyal were probably killed when the Kagutsu Crater happened and the rest held on under Shiotsu but were ultimately largely disbanded after having to work as the Gold King’s dogs. From Munakata’s point of view these people had a different view of justice than he does and dealt with a different threat, so it’s no wonder he doesn’t find many of them useful in his new clan. I don’t think that speaks to Habari’s men being ‘lesser’ and more than that they had a different enemy and different goals than Munakata does. And on that same token, even if Habari wanted to remake the world like Munakata does he had a much bigger obstacle in the way that he had to focus on, Munakata is much more able to treat Homra as annoying buzzing flies while he pursues other goals whereas Habari had to focus a lot of his manpower on keeping Purgatory in line.
And in keeping to his goals and ideals Munakata is more than willing to put himself or those he cares about in danger, because he will do what he thinks needs to be done to keep everyone safe. He definitely didn’t enjoy having to have that fight with Fushimi, especially since this being Munakata he absolutely always knew just the spots to hit to make it most painful and therefore seem the most real (and even so he totally trusted right from the start that Fushimi would do his duty and save everyone). I feel like Munakata tends to get blamed a lot for having to do the hard things that were ultimately proved to be right too, like Yata’s mad Munakata sent Fushimi into jungle but it’s not like there was much other choice, Munakata always believed in Fushimi’s ability to complete the mission, and he specifically put two contingencies in place (Yata himself being one of those) to make sure Fushimi made it out safely even though Munakata knew that he himself might not survive the coming battle. Similarly he gets a lot of flack for being ‘the guy that killed Mikoto’ even though he literally spends all of S1 trying not to do that and his face when he realizes that there’s no choice is really heartbreaking. Considering what Munakata’s had to face head on and his own strong beliefs I’m not surprised that he wasn’t impressed by Shiro, because Munakata’s never been a person to run away from what he sees as his duty.

Off Day
Pairing: Moxiety (Patton x Virgil)
Prompt: an unexpected kiss that shocks the one receiving it
Words: 1,407
*
Patton had been having an off sort of day. He’d woken up feeling… weird. There wasn’t really a better way to describe it. He just felt wrong. The mindscape outside all their windows was vaguely dreary and looked a bit as if it would rain later. Patton himself just felt kinda like sitting somewhere alone and crying, though he wasn’t sure what about. Nothing seemed wrong. He just felt… bad.
So what Patton usually did in a situation like this was spend time with his fellow sides.
Roman was always a good bet for distracting himself from these unwanted feelings. He was often boisterous and loud, smiling frequently. His regal demeanor often helped to lift Patton’s spirits when other avenues seemed to fail.
But this particular morning, Roman declined Patton’s offer of hanging out. Roman told Patton rather solemnly that he would be going on a quest in the Imagination for a couple of days, and would not be able to bring Patton along. He did sometimes, bring the other sides along on days of questing and adventuring. But he claimed that it could be “rather perilous” and that Patton was “needed here to help Thomas should he need it”.
So Patton, being a good sport and all, smiled and wished him luck. He gave Roman a hug and a quick peck to his cheek, and then sent him on his way.
As soon as Roman’s back was turned, Patton’s smile fell and the urge to cry alone returned, this time a little stronger and suddenly with a reason.
But Patton refused to spend the day that way. He was the optimism of the group, the Dad, the happy pappy Patton. He wouldn’t mope around when there was work to be done and people to make smile.
So Patton looked towards Logan next. Sometimes Logan was willing to let Patton sit with him while he worked out the schedule. It didn’t require a whole lot of concentration, and Logan had once admitted that, on occasion, it was nice to have Patton was a background distraction. Just to change things up and keep himself from getting burnt out. Not because he liked Patton’s presence or anything like that. No, not at all.
But Logan, too, was busy. Thomas had recently been faced with a lot of scheduling conflicts and some conundrums of the logical and scientific sort, and Logan couldn’t spare any time to “babysit” Patton.
He wouldn’t admit it, but that one stung a little. He was sure Logan didn’t mean it. The logical side was just stressed, and he and Patton did tend to work against each other from time to time, so he understood the slightly shortened temperament.
Though, that didn’t mean that Patton wasn’t left with a tighter smile than before and a chest that was aching just a hair harsher than he could generally handle.
He stood in the hallway for a moment, just fighting down the bubble of emotion that was fighting its way up through his lungs. He had to keep it together, after all. If he got too upset, it would start to affect Thomas, and then the others would notice because their jobs would get a lot harder rather suddenly.
Once again, he shook himself, settling on his next course of action. Roman and Logan were busy, but Patton still had a friend left. His best friend. Well, he hoped, anyway.
Patton found himself plastering on the widest, truest smile that he possibly could, and knocking jovially on Virgil’s bedroom door.
“Virgil!” Patton called, careful not to be too loud. “Are you up yet?”
He heard an answering groan that was followed by a couple of thumps and a few seconds of silence. Then the door was opening a little, revealing Thomas’ anxious side, still dressed in his pajamas and rumpled from sleep. His hair was all over the place, messy and knotted from rolling in the sheets. (Virgil was not a still, nor sound, sleeper.) He squinted harshly against the hallway light, peering up at Patton like his presence at the door was offensive.
Patton was already bracing himself for rejection.
“Hey, kiddo! I can tell you’ve just woken up, but I wanted to see if you wanted to spend the day together.” Patton smiled encouragingly. “We could bake cookies or do some puzzles, or we could drink some cocoa and have a movie marathon. Interested?”
Virgil took a few seconds to answer, rubbing at his eyes and stifling a yawn.
“No offense, Pat, but… all of that sounds kind of awful.”
Patton’s heart dropped straight into his stomach.
“Oh!” He tried to keep his tone light. “Well, did you have any ideas? We could-”
“I just want to lay down in the dark, Patton. I don’t feel great today.”
“Oh,” Patton said again, feeling like a broken record. “Well, can I get you anything? I’ll go and make some soup or something, and I’ll check in on you later-”
Patton was already backing away from the door, retreating. He could feel his chest tightening, his throat beginning to sting. His eyes were becoming just this side of wet with welling tears. He prayed a little that Virgil didn’t notice, or that if he did, he didn’t comment. Because now Patton really did just want to go back to his room and cry for awhile.
“Well, I hope you feel better, kiddo-”
Virgil’s hand shot out quicker than Patton would have expected the anxious side could do anything right now and caught his shirt.
“I didn’t say I didn’t want you with me, Pat,” Virgil admitted in a soft tone, now seeming much more awake than he was a second ago. Patton tried to tell himself it wasn’t because Virgil knew he was about to cry. “I would just rather we sit and nap today.”
Patton was quiet, unsure how to respond. He was doing his best not to get his hopes up. Virgil could still change his mind, and Patton would never fault him for that.
“Is that- Is that okay?” Virgil asked, all mumbled words and shy tones.
Patton smiled at his friend, hoping the look wasn’t too sad.
“Of course that’s okay.”
Virgil smiled gratefully at him.
“Tell you what,” Patton started, sounding a lot more sure of himself this time. “How about I go change into some better cuddling clothes, and then I’ll come join you. Okay? Might even grab some cocoa if you were at all interested in that. Yeah?”
Virgil nodded. “Yeah. Yeah, I’d like that.”
“Alright,” Patton sighed, pressing a peck of a kiss to Virgil’s temple quickly. “I’ll be back in just a few.”
It took Patton just about ten minutes to be changed and have his hands full of two mugs of hot chocolate, padding his way back up the stairs. The feeling from earlier was still there, lingering in the depths of his lungs, but it had lessened by the offer of cuddles from his best friend.
He joined Virgil in his bedroom, setting the mugs on the nightstand to cool while they curled up together under the heavy duvet. Virgil’s room was often kept cool, but not uncomfortably so. Virgil slept better in a cool environment with plenty of warm, heavy blankets on top of him.
Virgil tucked himself into Patton’s chest, all but burying his nose into the skin of Patton’s neck. They laid there together for what seemed like ages, drifting through Almost Dreams and floating a little bit. Their hot chocolate was cooling to vaguely room temperature cocoa on the nightstand, but who really cared? Patton certainly didn’t. Especially not when Virgil yawned and shifted, pulling away from Patton far enough for the both of them to lock eyes.
“Thanks, Pat,” Virgil mumbled, sleepy. He leaned forward again, pressing his lips to Patton’s.
They hadn’t kissed a whole lot before. It had only been a handful of times, and in all of those times, Patton had been the one to kiss Virgil. So, understandably, Patton hadn’t seen this coming. Honestly, just a moment ago, he’d been convinced Virgil was actually asleep.
But this was better. So much better.
Patton sighed into the kiss, flattening his hands against Virgil’s back and pressing them both closer together.
“Any time, Virge,” he promised against the other side’s lips.
Any time. Because Virgil was worth it and this was so much better than crying alone in his room.

Write Christmas morning for all of the sides (and Virgil getting emotional because they care, they got him gifts and they careee)
Virgil awoke bright and early, his door being knocked on. “Viiiiiirgiiiiiiil…… Viiiiiirgiiiiillll….. Virgey Virgey Virrrrrge….” Came Patton’s gentle coo of a voice. “Hmm?” He managed as his door gently opened. Patton tip toed into his room and placed a hand on the awakening side’s shoulder. “Virgil? Wake up kiddo! It’s Christmas!” He barely understood what he was hearing in his sleeping state.
“Christmas? What?” The anxious side began to rub his eyes.
“Yeah! It’s Christmas! We alw— Uh.. Come on, Kiddo!” Patton faltered, remembering this was Virgil’s first Christmas with them.
It took a little bit of time, but Virgil slowly woke up and sat up. Patton grabbed the black comforter from Virgil’s bed and wrapped him up in it. He then gently took the darker trait’s hand and led him downstairs. He slowly awoke as he made his way down, noticing how pretty it looked. The Christmas tree was covered in twinkling lights and cute ornaments, the lighting was gentle and soft, and there was faint festive music playing from somewhere. Patton led him to the base of the tree and sat him down next to Logan and Roman. The fatherly figure then scampered off to the kitchen and came back with a tray with four mugs on it. After settling down with the other three sides and passing out the mugs of hot cocoa, Patton eagerly began to bounce around.
“Can I go first this year?” He asked, his voice full of hope. Roman and Logan chuckled, while Virgil silently raised an eyebrow. He had no idea what was happening, he had never been invited to Christmas before.
“Of course you can, Padre.” Roman smiled. Patton basically vibrated with excitement before reaching forward to grab a small stack of three presents.
/Oh./ Virgil thought to himself as he eyed the small stack and the remaining two piles under the tree. /They open all their presents and we get to watch. I guess those other two piles are Logan’s and Roman’s. Thats fine. I was included at all… That’s.. Plenty for me./ He began to reason to himself. But to his surprise, Patton took the three packages and passed one to each of them. Virgil was shocked. But, it was Patton. Of course Patton would get him something. This was nice, he had never gotten a gift before.
“I hope you all like them!” He smiled brightly. The three other sides began to tear into the rather poorly wrapped gifts. It seemed almost like there was more tape than there was wrapping paper. They each pulled out a bundle of cloth. “They are all cat onesies!” Patton beamed, he stood and showed his own gray housecat one. “Roman, your’s is a lion! The king of the jungle!” Roman beamed, and slowly put his own over his princely pajamas. “Logan, your’s is a jaguar, the smartest of the big cats.” Logan blushed slightly, also putting his on. “And Virgil… Your’s is a panther! A dark and powerful protector.” Virgil was choking back tears that he hid as he also pulled on his onesie.
“Th-Thanks.. Dad. I love it.” He smiled, loving his first, and probably only Christmas gift. Patton threw his arms around Virgil.
“I’ll go next, if there are no qualms.” Logan stated, fixing his glasses slightly.
“Go ahead, you big nerd.” Roman chided gently. Logan reached forward and grabbed three gift bags. Practical wrap option, it made sense. Virgil began to busy himself with his sleeves, trying to not to look like he expected a gift. One was already more than he ever expected.
“Virgil?” Logan asked suddenly. He raised his head, seeing Logan holding out a purple gift bag.
“Oh.. For me? Thank you, Logan.” He smiled weakly, his heart could barely take this. Logan nodded curtly and leaned back into his spot. Once again, the three sides receiving gifts began to open their presents.
“Awww Logan! A cookbook?!” Patton squealed, pulling out a thick book.
“Yes, it contains several recipes for healthy meals… And multiple chapters specifically on desserts.” Logan smiled. Roman pulled out a hardback book, with a red cover that said “About Me” on the front. He began to flip through it.
“Roman, you can fill in stories about your adventures and also just answer general questions about yourself. I thought it might be fun for you to record your adventures.”
“This is epic! Get ready to read some amazing tales, Calculator Watch!” Roman chuckled. Virgil studied what was in his hands. It was a notebook. A really fancy, beautiful notebook. It had a hard front cover that almost looked like black marble. Attached was a gorgeous purple fountain pen.
“Virgil, I understand you like to write, I thought maybe a nice new journal would interest you.” Logan stated, slight embarrassment breaking through his even tone. Virgil looked up at him, the tears much closer to breaking through this time.
“I… It’s.. It’s perfect, Logan. Thank you.” He slowly said, he couldn’t believe Patton and Logan both got him gifts. This was.. He didn’t even know how to describe it.
“Psh, Wait until you see mine!” Roman suddenly interjected.
“Wha?” Virgil said under his breath. He definitely didn’t expect anything from Roman. Roman grabbed the last stack, the last three all immaculately wrapped in golden paper.
Patton eagerly tore into the golden paper. Inside was a huge Disney coloring book with matching Disney colored pencils.
 “Aww thank you Roman!”
Logan pulled out a surprisingly large book “Slang Words for Adults and Teachers, 2017 edition.” As well as large stack of blank notecards. Logan chuckled.
“Thanks, Princey.”
Virgil stalled a moment before pulling open his parcel. He found something soft. He unrolled it and found a pajama set. The top and bottoms were obviously both black but they had hand sewn patches all over both. They weren’t exactly Virgil’s colors but as he looked over the two hand done pieces, he realized that they looked like Sally’s dress from Nightmare Before Christmas.
“I… sewed the patches on myself. Your hoodie always reminded me of Sally… I thought that maybe.. that was what you were going for.”
Virgil’s hands clenched tightly around the cloth in his hands. He bowed his head down, a few tears escaping his eyes this time.
“I… I…” He began, his voice breaking. “If you don’t like them, or if i’ve upset you, I can..” Roman began, inching toward Virgil. The anxious one pulled the pajamas close to his chest and hugged them close.
“I love them! Thank you Roman! I.. I…” He was steadily crying. “None of you… You guys didn’t… You.. I… “ He looked up with red eyes at the three staring at him.
 “Virgil.. We…” Patton began.
“Virgil, we’re sorry. We should have been including you in holidays before. We made a mistake. But we’re trying to fix it. Please… Forgive us.” Logan said. His dark eyes traveled between the three of them, before he suddenly stood. He placed the pajamas on top of his new notebook and then ran away up the stairs. Patton’s shoulders drooped down. “It’s ok Patton. We probably overwhelmed him. It is going to take some time for him to trust us.” Logan said, his voice a little sad. They all looked down at their laps, upset at their past actions.
They suddenly heard Virgil’s still onesie padded feet plopping down the stairs. They all looked up in unison and saw panther onesied Virgil holding three nervously wrapped packages.  He returned back to his spot and placed them down in front of him.
“I wasn’t sure… How Christmas was going to go… But I got these for you guys… Just incase.” He admitted, slowly. He slowly handed out the packages. Patton was nearly crying at this point.
“Oh Kiddo… After everything… You still got us all gifts?!” Patton smiled. They all opened their gifts with great curiosity, having no idea what Virgil would have gotten them.
Patton got into his first. He found a small light purple kitten stuffed animal.
“Oh Virge! This is so cute!” He snuggled the little kitten to him.
“It uh.. It has a bag of lavender inside. It should help you sleep or relax if you ever needed it.” He explained, his cheeks burning. Roman pulled out a grand robe.
“Oh Virgil! This is magnificent!” He held out the red robe with golden accents to show the others.
“It is.. reversible. One side is soft and warm, the other silky and cool. It’s great for relaxing… Or if you were sick.” He once again felt embarrassed. Logan slowly pulled out a small box. Opening it he found a few different stress balls and puzzle toys.
”…These are fascinating.” Logan said softly, pulling out a metal puzzle.
“You get really stressed sometimes… I thought… Maybe these would help.” His face was burning red at this point.
The three other sides slowly inched toward Virgil, giving him ample opportunity to back away if he wanted, but he didn’t. Slowly, they all managed to wrap him in a group hug.
 “…Merry Christmas, Guys.”
 “Merry Christmas, Virgil.”
