Surprise - I didn’t stop at making Charlie Spring’s room! As of earlier today, here is my miniature version of Nick Nelson’s room!!!

Had the perfect box (no space on the shelf yet) and with a few minor adjustments (namely the vaulted ceiling) I had convinced myself that I needed this in my life XD

About 5 hours, some cardboard and LOTS of fabric scraps later, I now have Nick’s room as a little nook to match my earlier one of Charlie’s room!

There was a LOT of hand sewing in this one, but I got the beanbag right on my 2nd try (the first attempt was more a hackey sack lmao) and managed to match as much as I could to the illustrations AND Nick’s room in the tv show.

Anyway I just figured I’d continue posting these on here since it’s where I originally put Charlie’s room on, so I hope y’all like it :D

One of the main themes of Alice’s books is that there are no happy people. In Solitaire, Tori says it and thinks it throughout the book, and Alice continues with that theme throughout all of their books. In solitaire, there are no happy people. Micheal isn’t happy, Charlie isn’t happy, Lucas isn’t happy, Becky isn’t happy, Tori isn’t happy. There are no happy people. Radio silence, there are no happy people. Aled isn't happy, Frances isn't happy, Dan isn't happy, Carys isn't happy. There are no happy people. Loveless, there are no happy people. Pip isn't happy, Rooney isn't happy, Sunil isn't happy, Jason isn’t happy, Georgia isn’t happy. There are no happy people. In I was born for this, there are no happy people. Rowan isn't happy, Juliet isn't happy, Angel isn't happy, Lister isn't happy, Jimmy isn't happy. There are no happy people. Heartstopper, there are no happy people. Nick isn't happy, Tao isn't happy, Elle isn't happy, Tara isn't happy, Darcy isn't happy, Charlie isn’t happy. There are no happy people. In every one of Alice’s novels, she starts with a character who isn't happy and knows it, who isn't happy and doesn’t know what to do about it or how to help it. And then throughout the novels, the character learns more about the people around them and realizes that, there are no happy people. Everyone they thought was happy and had perfect lives, doesn’t. And then towards the end of the novel, the character feels less alone in their sadness because they realize they are not the only one. There are no happy people, and that’s what can make the not-happy people happy again.

I'm not even exaggerating when i say that Charlie is the best OCD representation I've ever seen

I've had obsessive compulsive disorder for almost 10 years now and when i first read the heartstopper comics and i got to volume 4 (and also solitaire) i was really confused because i didn't know how OCD worked until then, it made me feel like i was seen and i realized it was because it's the first correct OCD representation I've ever seen

seeing a character with the same disorder as me and whose writing about the disorder isn't based in stereotypes or very incorrect things was one of the best things for my mental health, it allowed me to finally seek professional help because i realized i had an actual problem and i got diagnosed a couple of months ago

I will always be grateful for having Charlie as such an amazing representation <3

For the first time I have noticed that Nick has some books in his bedroom (top right of the image). I can’t identify any of them but they look like Penguin Classics.

Is it too much to hope for a glimpse in Season 3?
