Backstory: Katriona grew up as a tall child, permanently taller than everyone around her. Her mother the less successful sister of a specialist doctor, and her father the eighth of eight kids. No one knew how tall she would eventually be, and how much pain she'd end up in, before she got corrective surgery at the age of 20 (she stopped growing at 7'0"). She pays for everything in her life through wrestling (and her artwork), something she'd learnt from her family.

Katriona started wrestling professionally when she was 16, and back then she was only 6'0". Having a flair for the dramatic, and a desire to up the amount of money she could spend on food, Katriona trained to be a highflyer (and took a more comedic angle to her wrestling), and soon doubled her drawing power because of it, after all, it's not everyday that you see an (actual) giant do a backflip and succeed. Going under the mask, as a way to market herself as a potential threat, came soon after this.

Although, in reality, she knows deep down that she wears the mask to hide her face, and remain somewhat private in her everyday life. She would make people think that if the mask was removed, during a match, that she would become much more savage, and cannibalistic, and attempt to bite her opponent. Vesta talked her into becoming the Gluttonous Giantess, and soon after joining the Lucifarians, her natural height and weight advantage, put her on track for being the biggest draw of the group, a role Katriona doesn't like much.

Shadows Over Loathing Cats

- Calliope - Once in the store go to the right, a cat is snoozing on the rug and you can ask Jessica about it. This cat wants sardines, which you can get from the cola wars surplus next door. Once you have her boon she gives you plus one to physical armor. - Ishmael - Won’t let you pet it until you finish the urn quest. Gives plus one myst. - Dottie - Found in Gretas petshop at the lake. You’ll need to go back in time in the hardware store, have an outhouse placed at Greta’s, go through it, help out Grady, and then disarm the mouse trap. You’ll need to pass a skill check when interacting with it for a second time, 4 moxie. When you return, the cat will be fat and willing to be pet. Adds 1 moxie. - Stinky - In the pirate food shop in the tunnel through the manhole on the floor. Will need 5 stench to interact with him. Plus 3 sleeze. - Sprig. - Cat playing in catnip behind the middle frat. 5 moxie to pet. Plus one muscle. - Fishermans cat - Found in the largemouth bass n sons left office. Won’t let you pet her until you help the kids. - Scylla - Found in the right office. Unlocked if you had the kids taken home somehow. 20 percent meat drops. - Boris - Monster shack, big moist. Hobos

- Gus - Go to the left when you first arrive in front of your uncle’s shop. There will be a hobo sitting on a bench. Give him 2 meat and leave him to his rain watching. - Clancy - Just wandering around on the first map, he wants five meat. - Obie - Go to goldwight park, you’ll be asked to as part of the main quest. Talk to the man on the right, and say security. He’ll ask you to run Obie out. Go to Obie in the next screen up, and ask him to go. If you’ve given him fifty meat you can choose as a favor to you and he will. - Dusty - When wandering Gabby will give you the address of the boardwalk, and Dusty is right there. Talk to her, and she’ll ask for five meat. Give it to her and she leaves. - Samuel - In front of Hirams Grocers. He’ll ask for ten meat, give it to him. - A hobo at some point will find you wandering and give you the address to the hobo camp-go there and talk to everyone to get hobo codes. The hobo in the car labeled cryptography lets you open up this dialogue option with hobos currently here and those you meet out and about. - Beanie - Found in the dump at the lake, trying to drag an oven out. When helped to do so he goes to the hobo camp you tell him about. 5 muscle needed to move the oven. - PencilHobo - Found in SIT outside fission chips, he’ll only give you hsi code if you give him an SIT cup for his pencils. Doesn’t go to the camp. - Still Hobo - In the second floor of the first frat. Wants 87 meat for a heat before she goes to the camp. - Ovid - Found while wandering SIT, takes you to his shop. Can only be recruited to the camp when the king asks you to do so. - Walter - Found under the SIT bridge after reading a hobo code. Ask abou fishing and he helps. - Mossman - Found in Big moist in moss. Talk to him about his humanity, needing 6 myst. - Pepperidge Daulphin - Found in Big moist in a sunken boxcar. Do his quest to recruit him for the camp. Will tell you code once hes there. - Creamy Steve - At the lake, at the sandwich museum in the past, vandalise the sign about vagrants and he’ll appear in the present. - Cornelius - Grey county, drexel corn maze. Convince him to go to the camp, when he brings his corn a lot of hobos will have corn based gifts for you and some help in areas. - Beatrice - Grey county, mcgillacudy farm. Chase out all the ducks before she’ll give you code and leave for the camp. - Croesus Vanderbilt - in the blackgold mine behind the vampires once they’ve been chased off somehow.

Speakeasy Items

- Wine - Under a hobo code in the far right of the speak easy is floor grapes. - Rum&Gin - At the lake is a distillery infested with vampires. You can find it wandering, or the mob will ask you to go there, giving you the combo to the lock so you don't have to wiggle in the wall. There is a grate of gin on a shelf. Once past the vampires, there is a crate of rum on the floor. - Absinthe - Found in SIT in the maintenance tunnels in Rufus’ room to the right in a jug. He’ll let you have it. - Barrel of Olives - Goldwight main. Tunnel through a manhole in the fishman bar. Needs 7 moxie to sneak out. - Vermouth - Basement of the first frat house - Case of whisky. - A poster at the busstop in the big moist will point you to their shack follow the tire tracks from their house. Go to the cave. Help the brothers by clearing out the gators and fixing their truck. - Tequila - Big moist mob submarine. Either peer through the windows w 7 myst or simply put in 19 into the console, then open the torpedo tube to receive it. - Cocktail Onions - Grey county, drexel maze, past the crow and down. - Enchanted ice - Grey county, macmillicancuddy farm. - Cherries - Grey county, after helping the lady in the orchard w her worms. - Galleon jug of bitters - Grey county, moleross house, fridge in the wormhole room up and in front of you when you first come in the house, and then through the next one to the right.

Gabby Gabby is the first one you’ll meet right in the store itself. She has to accompany you on your first mission to the news store but can be replaced later. She like all companions has two vignettes. Her first is when you arrive at Crystaldream Lake. Does it a second time layer on. Obie Go to goldwight park, you’ll be asked to as part of the main quest. Talk to the man on the right, and say security. He’ll ask you to run Obie out. Go to Obie in the next screen up, and ask him to go. If you’ve given him fifty meat you can choose as a favor to you and he will. You’ll meet him next in the hobo camp, where he can be recruited. Molly Turns up outside the store if you agree to work for the mob. Vignette-Grey county, then ocean city. Needs a thousand meat for this one. Has a third part. Take her to the prison in govt, go in alone and talk to the lady in cell block 3, 3c. SIT companions Robotics course, joins you when you finish it. Has two vignettes, one in gray county, one when you return to ocean city. Professor Adams Chemicals course. Follow quest until you get the arsenic back. Make bronze reivier. 3132, our it on statue in first room. Joins you for the rest of the chemicals course but can be asked to go to the speakeasy. Vignettes-first got my attention in the sit steam tunnel. Second crysdream lake

This gives you something to look up in the Watchful Eye files. - Lv3 Saint polycarps, right in front of the building. Tells you where to find meat. - Lv1 outside the salesman boarding house. Just gives you basic info but you still gain the exp. - Lv6 outside hardware store at the lake. Tells you to ask for candy. - Lv7 at the dam. Shows you hidden meat. - Lv9 in the distillery at the lake. It tells you something is in the barrel. - Lv8 on the sit main. Tunnel wall next to the pirate food shop. Recommends a special. - Lv10 Goldthwait main. Tunnel. Gives ring. - Lv6 SIT library stacks, three bookcases in. Gives you book. - lv11 SIT by the paradox labdoor. Talk to the mopping man about the vector lab to get the hint to remove the chalk. It doesn't matter what buttons you press now, you will receive the no coffee. - Lv7 roof of SIT building on a steam machine. Has ice cream inside it, keep it for the little girl in the maze. - Lv9 under the bridge at SIT where rufus asks you to go. Points you to a hobo - Lv 14 feldman quarry in moist. Books Read October 2020

Sorry Not Sorry by Naya Rivera

TBH even though Naya Rivera was a biggish celebrity I never really paid attention to her but I was spurred to read her memoir after her death. It’s written like a lot of celeb memoirs i.e. like a well written blog post. Not a lot off depth but it does involve a lot of interesting stuff about things I didn’t know about her early life like her early success as an actress, the long fallow period of her teenage years and the abortion she had and the fallout. Even though she doesn’t seem to have enough self-awareness to reflect on it at the time when she was writing it the whole circumstances around her abortion, the trauma of it and her getting back together with her husband and the subsequent father of her child was really poignant and touching. A sad read only knowing the circumstances surrounding her death. She really was an ambitious and fun person.

Transcendent Kingdom by Yaa Gyasi

I really liked Gyasi’s debut Homegoing but this one, while initially really engrossing, fell a little short. It’s about a neuroscientist whose mother falls into a deep depression and her reflecting on the circumstances around her career choice and her mother’s mental illness. A lot of really interesting themes here about religion, choice, addiction, mental illness etc but the book is short and really doesn’t go in depth to things the way I would like them too. I get the sense that Gyasi is more of a short story writer and that writing long form is a stretch for her. I hope she works this out because she is an interesting writer and I feel like she has more interesting works in her.

Memoirs of Hecate County by Edmund Wilson

The rare NYRB Classics pick that I did not fall head over heels in love with! There’s something about literature from the ‘20s and ‘30s that I just don’t connect with. Hecate County was published in the ‘40s and follows that period and there’s just something... cold and unfeeling about it for me. It’s a short story cycle about a kind of sleazy wealthy upper middle class white dude floating through life in the (fictional) suburban enclave of Hecate County. There’s murders, sex, STDs, mistresses and time travel. It was alright I suppose but I have really high expectations when it comes to NYRC classics and this was very forgettable.

FAMILY 

Father: Henry John Ames

Born on May 1st 1920 and raised in a small wizarding/squib village in North Devon, England. The youngest of three children, his parents were much older and tended to spoil him a bit. 

His childhood prior to Hogwarts was...chaotic. His father (a cursebreaker), who he admired, had multiple affairs and his parents were always fighting about it. His siblings, Holly and Hannah, were also in and out of the house with their own families, so it got a little cramped. 

Henry was thrilled when he got his Hogwarts letter.

Henry was sorted into Gryffindor upon starting Hogwarts. He was fairly popular and played Beater on the Gryffindor Quidditch team but was known for messing around with girls. In spite of this he attracted the attention of his first wife Nancy White.

After Hogwarts, Henry decided to pursue a career as a Cursebreaker like his dad and repeated the patterns of his father before him. A breaker of cycles, he is not.

He had a brief fling with Elsa Orn, who had Rubin as a result. He would write to and visit Rubin, who mostly tolerated him until adulthood.

 He married Nancy in 1949 and had Wren a year later.

After his Wife’s brutal murder at the hands of blood purists, he took Wren and moved to Galway, Ireland to be near Fiadah and her mother Brigid. Fiadah hated him even as a tiny bitter four year old, so it was Not Fun.

In 1959, He met Saorise and after sweeping her off her feet he married her. He was also ‘Dating’ a woman named Gwen on the side who had Bryn on March 8th 1972.

On December 3rd, 1965, Saorise had Odhran Jacob Ames AKA Danny.

Sometime in 1973 Saorise and Gwen realized that Henry was cheating and he found himself divorced and with no girlfriend.

This did not keep him from moving on and it seems he has learned nothing and will continue to learn nothing until he dies.

Current wife is Sally Baker-Ames who had Evangeline Louise Baker-Ames in 1974. She goes to Hogwarts and it is very VERY awkward.

Looks for Jacob while out on Cursebreaking expeditions and helped Saorise pay for a private detective. He also informed Rubin when Saorise began to neglect Hecate and Sean. While he is a bad father and husband, he does care about his children, in a strange haphazard way. 

Faceclaim: George Arliss

Mother: Saorise Aine O’Malley (formerly Ames, changed her name back after the divorce)

Born on June 4th, 1930 in Tralee, Ireland to Sean and Bridget O’Malley.

Her childhood was happy and full of love, she was an only child and was doted on by her parents.

Saorise was sorted into Hufflepuff. She was a Hatstall between Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw.

After graduating from Hogwarts, Saorise worked as a court scribe for the Ministry of Magic.

In 1959, Saorise met Henry and was swept off her feet. Soon she found herself with a stepdaughter at home, two more abroad, and three small children.

She slowly realized that maybe multiple affairs are not ‘Mistakes’ but indicative of a pattern.

Eventually Gwen (her best friend) revealed Henry to her and Saorise promptly divorced him. She forgives Gwen, as she had no idea,  and they maintain a friendship until Gwen dies of cancer in 1986.

Jacob going missing consumed her and she soon began neglecting her other two children while looking for him. Rubin stepped in and took custody of Hecate and Sean after she came over to visit at the insistence  of her father and found Hecate seizing, Sean sobbing, and Saorise nowhere to be seen.

She eventually came back around after year 5 but the children have no interest in a relationship and she doesn’t really blame them. They have a distant aunt type relationship with her.

Older Brother: Odhran Jacob Ames AKA Danny.

Born on December 3rd, 1965, Danny is the oldest known boy. He was sorted into Hufflepuff and caused all kinds of problems due to his arrogance and inability to tell when he is being lied to.

Wants to be like his father which is why he goes after the Vaults so hard.

Hecate hero worshiped him and the truth of who he really was hit her harder than the others. 

Jacob calls Hecate Pip when he’s happy with her and Mouth when she irritates him.

They reconcile but are never close afterwards. 

Faceclaim: Patrick Swayze (1980s)

Brother: Sean Michael Ames

Sean is Hecate’s twin and is ten minutes younger than her.

Sean tends to drive Hecate insane but she loves him dearly and  understands him to an extent.

Sean takes over the Cursed Vaults Search for Hecate whenever she is in the Hospital Wing and they generally look after one another.

Sister: Rubin Agda Orn

Eldest ‘Ames’ Child. In her forties after Hecate graduates.

Becomes Hecate and Sean’s legal guardian when they are eight years old and moves them out with Kit to St. Ives when they’re ten due to wanting to get them away from their Mother’s negative influence.

Very close with both Hecate and Sean and teaches them her own form of magic.

Saved their lives during the First Wizarding War. 

Hecate adores her.

Drumstrang Student, chose ancient Norse magic as her concentration in her 5th year.

Sister: Wren Etta Ito

Wren is the second oldest girl. Forty when Hecate graduates.

Married Osamu in 1970 and immigrated to Japan in 1972. Had her first child, Mirou, in 1970 and her second, Sara,  in 1973.

She writes to all her siblings and they love each other but Wren is more like ‘The Ancient Half Sister’ in Roald Dahl’s ‘Boy’ book to the younger ones. 

Ravenclaw.

Sister: Fiadah Medb O’Faud

Third oldest girl. Thirty-nine when Hecate graduates.

As soon as she achieved Thoughts she decided to cause problems on purpose. Mostly for Henry and purist peers. Later this applies to criminals being tried in MAUSCA’s courts.

Hecate is a bit scared of her as a child/teen but grows to admire Fiadah as an adult.

Slytherin/Thunderbird house.

Brother: Bryn Ames

A year older than Hecate and Sean and the Responsible Sibling.

Hecate is very close with Bryn and he looks after her as best he can. She’s probably his favorite sibling.

Bryn helps with the vaults when he can but his Prefect duties keep him busy most of the time

Slytherin

Nephew/Sibling: Kitto Alan Teague

A few months older than Hecate, not that it helps.

Hecate and Kit get along well and he joins them on Vault adventures about 98% of the time.

A Good Noodle.

Cousin: Wednesday Anne Drew’

Older than Hecate by a year, like Bryn. Unlike Bryn, they don’t get along well.

 Wednesday is very difficult and unlike the Ames’s, believes that they aren’t looking for living brothers. Is glad to be proven wrong but still is very negative.

Will help with the Vaults. Will complain about it.

Sister: Evangeline Louise Baker-Ames

A year younger than Hecate. It is so awkward at first and would be worse if they were in the same House but thankfully, she’s Ravenclaw, so it’s Sean’s problem.

They bond over a love of creatures and Quidditch.

Andre Egwu spent months working up the nerve to talk to the Cursebreaking family and decided that he liked them. Especially Hecate, she was so cool and sweet if a bit hot tempered and foul mouthed.

They didn’t start dating until their 4th year, mostly due to miscommunication and Andre mistakenly thinking Hecate was dating Murphy.

It took Murphy McNully  and Skye Parkin trapping them in the Announcers box and Skye screaming at them to,  “JUST SAY IT ALREADY, I’M SO SICK OF HEARING ABOUT IT!” for the confessions to happen.

They then become a power couple with Hecate being the “He said no pickles” one of the two.

They get married and have three children immediately after the war and support each other throughout their lives.

Future Daughter: Aisling Rowan Egwu.

Born at 11:58 pm  on May 25th 2001. One of a set of twins, apparently it runs in the family. She is 5 minutes (technically a day) older than Orla and exactly identical to her.

Aisling is a nice girl, definitely her father’s daughter. Becomes Ravenclaw’s seeker and wants to join the Holyhead Harpies  someday.

Alder Wand, Phoenix Feather core, 11 inches, and springy.

Future Daughter: Orla Lynn Egwu.

Born May 26th 2001 at 12:02am. 

Orla is a mix of both her parents, she has her father’s sweet temperament and her mother’s stubbornness.  In Ravenclaw with her sister, would like to be an Astronomer.

Holly Wand, unicorn hair core, 11 1/2 inches, and inflexible.

Future Son: Julian James Egwu AKA J.J.

Born April 3rd, 2003.

Julian is a quiet boy and generally keeps to himself, having only a few friends and an affinity for plants of all kinds. Hufflepuff like his mother and would like to own his own Wand Shop or at least work for one.

Description: Hecate is generally kind so long as you don’t annoy her on purpose or hurt her family and likes to help people where she can. She is also reliable and will have your back no matter what. Just be prepared for cursing.

HISTORY & BACKGROUND 

Pre-Hogwarts Childhood:

Hecate’s childhood was tumultuous due to her parents divorce and Jacob running away. Her epilepsy was also triggered by terrifying visions (for the same reasons flashing lights will trigger seizures) and she was in and out of St. Mungo’s and muggle hospitals until they figured out what was wrong and prescribed potion to control it.

Due to her mother’s increasing neglect and one very dangerous seizure, Rubin took custody of Hecate and Sean.

After that, she had a much happier childhood with her strange yet kind eldest sister and her first best friend Liz Tuttle.

Hogwarts Years:

Trying to google everything would only frustrate me and waste my time, so I’m not going into detail.

Hecate has to give up the Vault search after Rakepick induces a seizure, which forces her to take it easy for awhile. She still helps her family though.

Second Wizarding War:

Due to the fact she was Rubin’s sibling and often spoke out against Death Eaters and Purist beliefs, this made her a target. 

In 1996, Rubin, Hecate, and Liz Tuttle fled to America. Hecate and Andre decided to find each other and get married after the war.

Hecate, along with the other two, help Fiadah shut down Death Eater influence in MAUSCA and Rubin arrests 12 death eater sleeper agents and kills 20. 

Hecate also helps place refugees with families or in their own homes. 

On May 4th, 1998, Hecate, Rubin, and Liz return to England and Hecate reunites with Andre. They get married in July of 1999.

Adulthood:

Hecate’s life was lively and fun after the war, spending several years as a commentator and then as Andre’s coaching assistant for Pride of Portree.

She and Andre have three children, Aisling, Orla, and Julian.

Death:

Hecate died after pneumonia complications at 105, the same day as Sean and a year after Andre’s death. Left behind her three children, ten grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren.

 MISCELLANEOUS 

Her favorite muggle sport to watch is Ice Hockey. She enjoys the occasionally pointless violence.

She, of course, supports Pride of Portree but will also root for the Wigtown Wanderers if Portree isn’t playing.

Doesn’t like Muggle movies much but loves TV shows, her favorite being Dr. Who.

Hecate is named after her ancestor Maran O’Malley (mother’s side)’

Chapter 2: Not a Student

Summary: Reader meets Professor Xavier and his team, the X-Men.

You were in the garage of the compound getting your bike ready for the drive to Westchester County. It would take a few hours so you had gotten up early to pump as much caffeine into you system as humanly possible. Despite Clint’s pleading, you had purposely ignored FRIDAY when she stated that Coulson was looking for you that morning. The sooner you got to the school, the sooner you could return. Coulson could punish you for insubordination later.

“Do you always ignore direct orders?”

“Clearly not, Director, or I’d still be asleep in bed.” You zipped up your leather jacket and threw one leg over the motorcycle. “If you’ll excuse me, I’m late for something that’s as much fun as a root canal.”

Coulson moved so he was directly in front of your bike. “You haven’t been dismissed.”

“You’ve mistaken me for someone who gave a fuck. Give me my demerits when I get back, Scout Leader.” You go to start the bike, but Coulson quickly pulls the key out. “Hey!”

“We need to talk.”

“No, we don’t. You want me to go do this stupid thing, then let me or get someone else. I don’t have all day for this.”

“I’m not doing this to punish you.”

“Could have fooled me.”

“This will be a great opportunity for you and your career.”

“Holy fuck. As if there was any doubt before about your fanboyism, you practically quoting Cap just sealed it.” Without even trying, you used your telekinesis to retrieve your keys and move Coulson out of the way. “You clearly don’t get it. I confided in you and you turned around and used it against me. Saying its good for my career, like that actually matters to me. I may continue to go on missions for you, but I will never trust any more personal information to you.”

“_____, this isn’t personal.”

“No, it absolutely is. But I’m not surprised. Not the first time SHIELD has done something like this. How do you expect to keep your team if the members don’t trust the organization or the people behind it?” You looked up into his eyes. When you had first joined, you had looked up to him. Even had a small crush, though it never went beyond that. But the man had a weird way of getting under your skin. It was one of the few things you and Stark agreed on. You let out a sigh. “I’m outta here. Maybe I’ll get lucky and this professor will change his mind after he meets me.”

You revved up the bike and rolled past Coulson, out of the garage. Steve and Bucky were on the lawn and they stopped talking to wave at you. You ignored them and opened up the bike, desperately wanting to get this meeting over with. If you had been anyone else, this wouldn’t be such a bad thing. But you had hated speaking in front of others ever since you were a kid. The pressure to remember your words, not knowing if you researched enough about the topic at hand, the laughter when you messed up. You weren’t like Stark, who could turn a moment like that into a hilarious joke at your expense. You were sarcastic, cynical, and preferred to stand off to the side alone. How you ended up as an Avenger still baffled you.

The road down to Westchester was calming, mostly taking you along the woods. It wasn’t long before you were pulling in front of an older looking mansion. You almost thought you were in the wrong spot until you noticed a sign on the gate.

Xavier’s Institute for Higher Learning

Either Professor Xavier changed the school’s name again, or Fury had incomplete intel. Either way, you were clearly in the right spot. You rode through the gate and up to the front steps. A large man covered head to toe in metal came out of the door to greet you in a thick Russian accent.

“Hello! You must be the Avenger. I am Piotr, though most call me Colossus.”

“Nice to meet you, Colossus. I’m _____ _____, though sometimes my teammates call me Hecate.”

“After the Greek goddess of magic?”

“Yeah, well I was called a witch when I was a kid so I thought I’d at least roll with it.” You climbed off your bike and shook the metal hand extended towards you. “Nice school you guys have here.”

“Thank you. The professor will be happy to hear that.” Just then, two more men busted out of the front door. One was in a head-to-toe red and black suit and was being followed by the other, who had some metal parts to the left side of his body. It almost reminded you of Bucky, except somehow this looked more organic.

“Get back here, you giant dildo!” The one with the metal arm shouted.

“Fuck you, old man!” The first man was running straight for you. Without thinking, you threw up a telekinetic barrier and guy bounced right off. “Fuck sticks!”

“Wade, Nathan, that is no way to act in front of our guest.” Piotr chastised the two men as he reached down to yank the first man off the ground. “Now, come and say hello to _____.”

The man with the metal arm just grunted at you. “Cable.”

“I’m guessing that’s either your name or you’re a metal version of Hodor.” You quipped.

The other man busted out laughing as he dangled from Piotr’s grip. “Oh fuck yes! Calling you Hodor from now on, old man! You can carry me around in a bag around your neck.”

Cable sneered and walked back into the mansion. Colossus placed the man on the ground. “Now Wade, we need to be on our best behavior when guests come to the school.”

The mask on Wade’s face actually rolled its eyes. “Oh please. Like she actually gives a shit. She looks bored out of her goddamn mind right now. Why don’t we get out of here, hot stuff, and let the metal man have fun alone?”

You flicked a hand at Wade and he flew across the yard. “Hard pass. I don’t want to be here, but I might as well get this fuckery over with.”

Colossus looked at you in confusion. “You don’t want to be here? The professor said that the Avengers wanted this merger.”

“That could all and well be true, but coming to the school was not my idea in the slightest. If it’s alright with you, I’d like to go ahead and meet the professor so I can head back to the compound. No doubt next time they’ll be smart enough to send someone more diplomatic.”

He looked at you thoughtfully and then nodded his head. “Please, come this way.”

Inside the school, kids were darting all around trying to get to class on time. A man covered head-to-toe in blue fur and wearing a suit strolled by. “Good morning, Piotr. Who’s our lovely guest?”

“This is _____ _____ from the Avengers. She is here to talk to Professor Xavier.”

“Ah! I was wondering when the Avengers would come knocking at our door. Pleased to meet you. I’m Dr Hank McCoy.”

You shake his hand, yours lost in his larger one. “Nice to meet you, Doctor. I assume you’re a teacher here?”

“As well as the man who helps create every item the X-Men use in the field. You’re just in time. Charles is finishing with a meeting right now. I’ll be glad to take you to his office.”

“Thank you, Dr McCoy.”

“Please, call me Hank.” He led you down a few hallways before stopping in front of a pair of French doors. A voice called out from the other side.

“It’s quite alright, Hank. We’re finished in here.”

You jerked your head back as Hank chuckled. “The professor is a telepath. Not to mention, he has been looking forward to your visit.”

“He has?”

“Yes, but I will let him go into as to why that is.” Hank opened the doors to reveal a beautifully furnished office.

An older man sat behind a large desk, a kind smile on his face. In front of the desk sat two men: one wearing red tinted sunglasses and dressed a little preppy and the other bearded and looked to be on his way to Canada to be a lumberjack. The second man turned as you walked into the room and your eyes locked with his green ones. He was very handsome in a rugged sort of way and you had a hard time pulling your eyes away from his to look back at the professor.

You cleared your throat. “Professor Xavier, please excuse the interruption. I’ve been sent here by the Avengers and SHIELD to speak with you.”

Out of the corner of your eye, you saw the rugged man roll his eyes. “Great. Since when have they decided to stick their nose in our business?”

“Logan, this could be a good thing. Having the Avengers as allies would help in future battles against other mutants, like Magneto.” The man in the sunglasses reasoned.

The one called Logan just shook his head. “You know that’s stupid, Scott. Iron Man would be just as useless as me against Magneto. He’d get crushed like a beer can. We don’t need their help. We’ve worked fine without it.”

“Then maybe they’re reaching out so Captain America’s positive attitude will rub off on you.”

“Wasn’t he a war criminal? How good of a role model could he possibly be? Sorry,” he turned towards you, “I’m sure like every girl that swoons over him, you believe he was in the right and all that shit. But at times he seems like an idiot.”

You cocked an eyebrow at Logan. “Look, I have no idea who peed in your Wheaties this morning, but you haven’t offended me once. Well, with the exception of thinking I have the hots for Rogers. He’s too much of a boy scout for my taste. I’m no more thrilled to be here than apparently you are at having me here. This was Nick Fury’s brain child so go bitch to him. In the meantime, I would like to pick the professor’s brain as to why I was volunteered as tribute for this idiocy. So if you’re done being a crotchety old man, I would like to have a moment alone with him.”

On the other side of you, Scott’s face broke out into a wide grin. “Oh, I like her. Professor, can we keep her around?”

Logan raised his eyebrows at you, but remained silent. Hank chuckled. “Well, I believe that is the first time Logan has been rendered without a response. Come along, gentlemen. These two have much to discuss.”

The two men got out of their seats and headed towards the door. You felt eyes on your back and looked over your shoulder to see Logan looking at you as the doors closed. He had a look of interest on his face and something was telling you this wouldn’t be the last time you would see him.

Chapter 3

An ode to my five most recent femslash WIPs, which will likely never see the light of day.

1. E'en from the Tomb, the Voice of Nature Cries: The Haunting of Bly Manor, Dani/Jamie,

“Did you see -?”

Jamie’s eyes moved between the closed door and Dani a few times, her throat tight against the words she didn’t want to form.

“Aye, Poppins,” she swallowed hard to force the words into being. “That girl’s eye is as red as yours.”

Dani had long since accepted her fate but she had never been good at leaving others to their own equally horrible ones.

Jamie doesn’t want to hope too much but she thinks maybe, just maybe, if it’s for someone else’s sake, Dani might also manage to save herself.

2. Raise your Eyes to the Sky: Captain Marvel, Carol/Maria, (somehow I actually posted this)

“What, you don’t wanna see these babies in action?” Carol flexed the muscles on her free arm and waggled her eyebrows at Maria.

“I’ve seen those babies in action too many times to count.” She shook her head but spared her friend an indulging smile. “Try not to break the nice man’s machine, baby.”

Carol grinned at her, glowing at the backhanded praise. “You know I can’t promise that.”

A family day at the County fair has its ups and downs but they say the darkest hour is before the dawn and if they are brave enough, this might be the day these two friends close the last inch of space between them.

3. Where did your Wings go?: Supergirl, Kara/Alex

With the slow motion treacle of adrenaline oozing through her veins, she could only watch in horror as he raised the gun and Alex leapt at him. The shot echoed loudly and they went down hard in a tangle of limbs. She heard a cry tear it’s way from Alex but then the woman dug her fingers into his wrist and his own scream drowned it out. He dropped the gun and she shoved it away with one hand as her small body straddled his waist. The other hand wrapped around his throat.

This guide will show you where the cats are for the Cat Fancy success. Ocean City - Calliope Location: Antique Shop Solution:Buy a can of government-issued sardines from the Cola Wars Surplus store next door and give it to Calliope.

Calliope's Boon: +1 Physical Armor - Ishmael Location: Captain Durch's House Solution:You first need to speak to the guy at St. Polycarp's and accept the side quest. Go into the church catacomb and read the guest book, which gives you the Durch's House location. Go there. Write down the date on the rock outside his house, then read the news from that date at the Watchful Eye. Back at Durch's House, ask him about the Porquod. Once you're in his house, talk to him for a bit. Speak to the fifth urn, who will request cigarettes. You can purchase cigarettes from the Cola Wars Surplus. Leave the cigarettes on the tray next to the urn, and then after the small cutscene investigate the bookcase. After talking to the man in the hidden room, go to St. Polycarp's.
