Gustavo Trigo is the artist of the comic series 'La Guerra de los Antartes', written by Hector German Oesterheld for leftwing Noticias newspaper in the 1970s. The series continued the theme of Oesterheld's successful 'El Eternauta' series, about an alien invasion. However, 'La Guerra de los Antartes' had references to the political reality of Argentina. The comic ended when the government forbid further publication of magazine Noticias. Trigo has also illustrated episodes of Oesterheld's 'Sgt Kirk' series. Later in his career, Trigo started working for the Italian market, where he illustrated such series as 'Dylan Dog', 'Nick Raider' and 'Julia'. Gustavo Trigo - Lambiek Comiclopedia

Reading is another free-time pleasure! David, wonder if you heard of this Argentinian writer, Hector German Oesterheld. He wrote The Eternaut as a weekly comic strip (drawn by Francisco Solano Lopez), and it is now known as THE graphic novel in Argentina. Enjoying this compilation so far. Why did the library pick that spot for a sticker though?!!

«State zitti… ascoltate!» «Guardate!» «Non è possibile…» Nella strada uno spettacolo incredibile, allucinante. «No… No… Non aprire, Lucas!» «C’è qualcosa nell’aria… come se stesse nevicando» «È vero! Guardate…

ENGLISH:
Based on a short story by Hector German Oesterheld, this science fiction story takes place in a planet named Gelo where the habitants are witnesses of the arriving of an astronaut which ship gets crash. The visitor’s presence turns into a joke to the habitants making the astronaut spend his last life moments drowning the aliens with giggles instead of tears.
Made with just presupposed bass programs as Paint and Movie Maker, to Elvis seen to be a good idea make an adaptation of this story written by the famous author of the graphic novel “El Eternauta”, who has disappeared and possibly died in the military dictatorship occurred in Argentina. Although the animation is typical from Elvis first works, Exilio was claimed as a good adaptation of a short story less know by Hector. Although the sound was censored because of copyright, that didn’t impede its publication riches to other corners of the web where it can be watch with sound. Elvis says he gets proud of this short film now that is an authentic Argentinian work that just like the original text, it talks about intolerance leaving and valuable lesson.
Soundtrack:
Sidney’s Lament – Marco Beltrami
Paradox – Hans Zimmer

Original Bat Lash splash page by George Moliterni. I’m not really familiar with his work, but I love this page.
Here’s a little write up, nabbed from the above link:
Jorge Luis Moliterni began his career in advertisement, but started working in comics full time from 1957. His early work, that included episodes of 'Lord Crack', appeared in periodicals like Hora Cero and Frontera. He alternated with several other artists on Hugo Pratt's 'Ernie Pike' and 'Sargento Kirk' series. He drew the 'Watami' series with scripts by Hector German Oesterheld in Misterix from 1962.
In the mid-1960s, Moliterni began working for international publishers and agencies, such as the Fleetway in Britain and the Charlton Comics in the USA(as George Moliterni). His UK work was mainly related to World War II subjects, including contributions to the War and Battle picture libraries, and episodes of 'Codename: Warlord' to Warlord, but also stories for girls' magazines. In the Italian magazine Il Corriere dei Regazzi, he produced the adventures of Davy Crockett's son 'Bob Crockett' from 1972. Shortly before his death, Moliterni drew 'Los Profesionales' for Ediciones Record. Jorge Moliterni died in 1979.

ROBIN WOOD: DAGO E MOLTI ALTRI EROI
ROBIN WOOD: DAGO E MOLTI ALTRI EROI
