“baby, it’s been a long day for you,” you whine, struggling with the vegetable peeler as soonyoung wraps you in a back hug that can only be described as violently affectionate. “let me do something nice.”

“what if i said i wanted to help.” he says this with his cheek pressed flush to yours, and a pout that could fell an entire army. “then what.”

soonyoung presses tiny little kisses, heart shaped and innocent, down your cheek to the slope of your shoulder. you know it’s the closing statement to his argument because he doesn’t really have any better ones (last time he helped you cook, it ended up with his hand under the skirt of your apron and a steak burned beyond recognition. the time before that, he forgot blenders needed lids.)

you sigh, letting the potato fall to the cutting board, and turn around to face your boyfriend.

he’s glowing, still filled with energy from a long day of practicing at the studio. but you know him better than anyone, and behind those unfairly sparkly eyes is an urgent need to lie on the couch and cuddle for hours. which you’re not really sure a good stew could solve (unfortunately).

instead, you take his cheeks into your hands, let him lean into you like he’s been needing to. you’re about to say something, but he rewrites the words on your lips with a kiss that makes the world positively melt around you.

“m’sorry,” he mumbles, nose pressed to yours. “couldn’t help it, you looked so pretty.”

it’s maybe the millionth time he’s done this, but it still renders you speechless.

“gonna kiss you till you remember what you wanted to say,” is the next thing he says, and truly whatever train of thought you once had is permanently derailed.

it isn’t until 8 something when his stomach rumbles loud enough to wake a bear—it’s then you remember that dinner is in fact a thing that still needs to happen.

but even while you’re on the phone ordering takeout, soonyoung has trouble keeping his hands off you.

it’s a soonyoung thing, just like how he insists on the tiger plushes in the bedroom, how he sends 10 voice memos in a row because he can’t not update you on his day, how he sighs into your kisses and holds you like he will physically wilt away and die otherwise.

loving you is a soonyoung thing, and you don’t think anyone else could do it better.

Kris moves to sit with Jan on the couch, setting the coffee down on the table.

“Wanna play a few songs or just jam a little?” he asks and for a while it seems like Jan hasn’t heard him, strumming a single chord on his guitar repeatedly and turning the knobs until he’s happy with the sound.

“A sem ti povedal.” he mumbles finally and Kris’ stomach twists.
