What is your relationship with turkey like? :]
Tumblr media
You're doing this on purpose, aren't you?? I...I gotta go I hear someone calling me!
Tumblr media
She only ran about a few steps before passing out on the floor. Sometimes I wonder what she sees in that guy...
Anyway, I'll be taking over for her in case you wanted the real answer.
She had tried to fight Iran once before with Turkey and Crimea back in 1578, but had to retreat for a while to take care of matters at home. Said matters being my brother and I rebelling against her rule on us. She did end up taking large areas of land from Iran, so I guess that's a win?
And then she did it again in 1616. She asked Turkey about a cooperative military offensive against Iran, to which he accepted and attacked Iran again. I kinda feel bad for Iran...that must have been annoying at best.
She used to talk to him and visit him quite often around the 1500s and 1600s. She also asked him for help in the face of Russian expansion around the 1700s and 1800s. However, we all know what happened...
One of his military generals, Enver Pasha, tried helping us in the Basmachi Revolt against the Bolsheviks, but unfortunately died in battle in 1918. His remains stayed in Tajikistan until the late 90s, where he was brought back to Turkey.
Initially Turkey did have good relations with the USSR due to the shared ideas of revolution and the overthrowing of the monarchy, but things got cold after Turkey joined NATO.
They never really talked to each other after that...
Until we all became independent. Turkey was the first nation to recognize all of our independences, and things were going well. Until Turkey took Muhammad Solih, the Uzbek President's opposition candidate, in to stay. Uzbekistan asked for him back, but in Karimov's tenure that meant bad news...and so Turkey refused. This started the deterioration of their relationship(all of us too, if I'm being honest–she was very cold and brash during this time and just did whatever she could to achieve her goals). She had also raided a lot of his office buildings and jailed his employees on accounts of "terrorism" for having prayer mats and religious books in the offices.
After Karimov died in 2016, a new era was ushered in as Vice President Mirziyoyev took office as President in 2017. He began to thaw relationships with the rest of us, including Turkey. My sister also finally joined the Organization of Turkic States as a full member in 2019! They started talking to each other like normal again, and they even worked on a drama together about the last prince of the Khwarazmian Empire, starring a Turkish and Uzbek actor and actress as the main characters who fall in love.
Hmm. I wonder if that reminds me of something...
Turkey's politicians constantly highlight how important Uzbekistan is as a gateway to other Central Asian countries(me totally me), and she's starting to move away from trading with Russia in favor of Turkey. He also gives her a lot of military weapons, like drones, and they've begun training together recently.
So to sum it up, I think they both benefit each other a lot economically, and Turkey's also very similar culturally with the rest of us.
Wait why do I see Kyrgyzstan with a suitcase looking angry?
Oh no I better stop him. Thanks for having me, the cooler brother- OH GOD

OKAY okay so. Uhhh. Basic lore.
Countries are humans 👍👍 aaand my ch for some reason have magic. I think this is the effect of a very specific animation meme I watched when I was 11.
Anyway they're basically powered by that magic. Runs through their veins instead of blood. I made like a small picture demonstrating wait
Tumblr media
Yea. It's shitty but I don't wanna use words to explain sooo. Also teleportation is very specific to likee unions (???? Idk like USSR Czechoslovakia SFRY, SHS etc.) The colour of the magic depends on the country's ideology (or in some cases their PREVIOUS ideology I am not consistent at all)
They're tall as fuck. Tall as fuck. For no reason. My USSR is 10'11. Russia, China, Canada, America (10’6”, 10’4”, 10’5”, 10’3”). Shits crazy.
I am extremely autistic about the balkaners and mostly focus on them (did you notice), but I do have a chunk of countries not related to them decently developed (Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Zambia, China, most European countries, Mexico, Nicaragua, Brazil, Argentina, Turkey...). I also focus on historical countries (RE, AH, RoE, Byzantium, OE, SHS, SFRY, USSR, Czeslo, Serbian Empire, Travunia, Pagania, Zachumlia, White Serbia, White Croatia, Prussia....)
Uhh uhhh I'm one of the cringe mfs that also ship them and I've got a feww? Relationships down there's not an awful lot. Croatia is with Germany, France is with Britain (hetalia influence), Serbia is with Greece and Romania (polycule.) + situationship w China, SFR Yugo is with Czeslo...I think that's all actually
I really enjoy antagonising big countries. Russia and America are different flavours of asshole. Canada pretends to not be an asshole but is an asshole. China outright ignores people he deems unworthy of talking to him.
There's a dead country realm that I think is super cool and based. When they die they spawn in the city center (which is the entirety of the realm, basically) and however they died affects how they look in the afterlife. Eg. Travunia:
Tumblr media
The most noticeable thing is the stitched up wound on his head lol he died by an axe blow to the head. But also peep the earrings. Peep the stitch on the hat. Peep the pattern on his neck piece. It basically affects every part of them. Like he's horrified of axes, SE cannot stand being near bodies of water and his skin colour is fucked up since he drowned, Soviet has a lot of burns, claw marks around his neck, his ribs are exposed due to his skin being fucked up. But he also has cracks all over his skin. He died in an assassination, he was killed by poison gas. But also the natural process of death (dusting) already started for him, which is why there's also cracks.
Feel free to ask anything that interests you!!!!!!!! I should shut the fuck up

Hello! You've probably talked about this before so feel free not to now but I'm wondering if you could explain how you group characters. Like in the Ivan taking the group out for a hike or something there were some satelite states but not all of them. I was just wondering!
Thanks for the ask @acethetically-doodles 😊! Hopefully i read the question right.
Okay so how do I group them? Well it's dependant on a few factors.
With many comedic ideas I usually stick with Ivan, Tolys, Raivis, Eduard and often Katya and Natalya. Gilbert is fun to throw into the mix. You know how in sitcoms there is often that character that isn't actually apart of the family but is there for some reason and might as well live there, the one that just is there to really comment on the situations and whatnot. To me, Gilbert fits this role perfectly. It's comedic gold.
However in other scenarios I will include the rest of the satellite states because the more the merrier. Plus in the hypothetical camping scenario this would change it from more of a "family trip" to practically a classroom field trip with the total being 14 now including (Poland, Hungary, Czechia, Slovakia, Bułgaria, Romania, and Moldova.
And unfortunately the fact that we don't have even Mexico means that it's very unlikely we'll ever get countries like Kyrgyzstan which is sad because there would be a lot more to work with. Listen I find Central Asia quite fascinating.
Modern times I usually stick with Feliks, Tolys, Raivis, and Eduard. Then I add people as I see fit for whatever scenario I have.
For more Serious Historical hetalia things are much more dependent on what fits best to whatever plot or idea while not compromising historical accuracy too much. Canon is also a factor to be considered but not necessarily strict adherence as since Hetalia is a comedy it takes a comedic approach often forgoing very strict adherence to a plot and historical accuracy in order to create more entertaining scenarios.
You'd think if I have this much of a process for grouping i would be able to write more but nope!
Also Moldova can be difficult to place as having him be an extremely small child makes it hard to place him in some scenarios.
Yet another thing is whether or not I feel like I have a strong grasp on a character's personality. I feel more confident working with some characters more than others.
Other Answer
Now if you meant how would you group them in team building exercises. My answer would be
• Tolys and Gilbert
• Raivis and Eduard
• Katya and Natalya

So I think it's the high time to show you all my characters.
Starting with this four. My lovely central Asian non-men. All of them could kill you, but 3 of them are too nice to do it without a good reason. I don't think it's hard to recognise the special snowflake.
(I lohe Afghanistan, he's just traumatised)
Kyrgyzstan 🇰🇬 - Ainura Kyrgyzsevna
Kazakhstan 🇰🇿 - Eldana Qunanbaiuly
Tajikistan 🇹🇯 - Mahtab (surname still in progress tho I think I'll stick with Shahfar)
Afghanistan 🇦🇫 - Mehr Balkhi (he/they, because they're bacha push!)

What does Sadık think of other Turkic nations (excluding Aze ofc) (like Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan?)
Well! I should mention first that it’s important to keep in mind that the Turkic World is incredibly large, therefor the real answer for the question would be novel sized. Turkic migrants went as far as Central Asia all the way to Eastern Europe! Even to this day there’s even remnants of turkic ancestry in Bulgaria and Hungary [Not so much Hungary directly but ! I say this because the Magyars weren’t inherently Turkic but they were incredibly influenced by one of the better known Turkic Tribes “The Hunnic Tribes” or aka The Huns--- but I’m getting sidetracked jhkbjlnk]
Tumblr media
This map, I think, is a good mini-intro to overall “Turkic” influence in Eurasia.
I’ll mention, though, that there is a Turkic Council between Turkey, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan,  and Kyrgyzstan that began in 2009. Not every inherently “Turkic” country is a member yet, but the Council is looking to recruit even more Turkic members as the time goes by. So, it’s safe to say that Turkey definitely puts the effort out to preserve his roots, despite the fact that this nomadic period is incredibly… complicated. It’s a bit of a headache with history when most nomadic people didn’t do much to record their passage. But that’s what makes the search for knowledge even more of a challenge and adventure!
Tumblr media
Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkey, and The Turkic Council Flag
So, to humor your question, Sadiq feels a stronger connection to these countries in particular.. but there isn’t any denying how different he has become from them. Not only has he westernized much more than the other Central Asian Turkic countries like Kazakhstan, Uzbek, and Turkmen; However, a distinct line between what is Turkish and what is Turkic has been defined over the years apart from them. Turkey is still considered Turkic, of course, but the term “Turkic” doesn’t exactly cover the absolute vastness and variety of cultures and traditions that they all have to provide individually for each country. They’re all tied together with similar influences, but Sadiq wouldn’t consider these countries part of his kin. Most countries of the Steppes, including Azerbaijan, began as Iranian settlers before more or less Mongolian and Turkic influence alike swept from the east to the west. Sadiq himself represents the Oghuz [Göktürks] branch of Turkic peoples, but there were so many unique groups and tribes at the time. He, nonetheless, would feel the connection, but it is no more of a connection one would feel for their fellow “American” or “European” of similar ethnicity [vs more specifically “my fellow German” or “my fellow Floridian.” ] It isn’t to think they are directly related to you, but the familiarity and tie is still present. (I do hope that this makes sense? HAH I struggle to explain this one, which is why it took me so long so answer.)
I’d definitely love to go into further detail, but this post is long enough. I was even considering dedicating some time to making some posts to provide not only the content to you all, but the incentive to really dig into the knot that is Turkic/Steppe History :^) it’s a favorite of mine!
[ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ]
But, anyways, Since you listed these three, I’ll really quickly run through the countries you mentioned relations with Turkey!
Tumblr media
Being not only a member of the Turkic Council, but also a greater partner in Turkey’s eastern trade, it isn’t infrequent that Kazakhstan and Turkey run into each other’s paths both professionally and informally. Again, Turkey was the first country to recognize an Independent Kazakhstan and has really kept their close ties with one another since then. Surely, one of the biggest things that keeps the two together are how economically beneficial they are for one another, but because of similar Turkic roots the two have focused on really expanding on their educational and entrepreneurial internships and institutes in either countries residents. This is great for both of them because not only does it give their people more opportunities, but it also aids the two of them to grow stronger in both their own respective ways but also in their relationship as economic partners.
[ ○ ○ ○ ○ ]
Tumblr media
Turkey having been the first to Recognize Uzbekistans independence from the Soviet Union, Turkey has made many attempts to not only grow closer with the country as a whole but the people who resided within it as well. Unfortunately, with the end of the 20th century, their relationship began to strain as it became more and more apparent that the two couldn’t always agree on ideologies and politics. These tensions really put a hold on their progress in growing closer; but, within the past couple of years, thanks to a visit on Erdoğan’s half to Uzbekistan, they have been able to put aside their differences for the better of their people and their cultures. They’re both able to focus more on the benefits a good-standing relationship has to provide versus the obstacles and annoyances that might come more of less with one another on a personal 1 to 1 basis.
[ ○ ○ ○ ]
Tumblr media
Turkmenistan is a hot spot for Turkish immigrants and Turkish tourists alike. The two countries dedicate a decent amount of their time and efforts into knitting their relationship closer and closer for not only their shared Turkic roots, but also in support of each others health and wellbeing. Turkmen and Turkish language and culture both, also, descend from the Oghuz linguistic tree, so despite their relationship only really coming into focus in the modern day, they would still be pretty familiar with one another from the past. Theoretically speaking, She and Sadiq would be the closest in familial relation in comparison to the rest of the Turkic members. They both enjoy a stable relationship that’s pretty balanced formally and informally! Sadiq makes many trips to the Turkmen coast, (especially if he’s feeling the need to reconnect with his past.)
[ ○ ○ ○ ]
I hope that this somewhat introduces the overall idea!
[PS: all these character designs are shared between me and @ottomanliest because we have nothing better to do with our lives than spend it in a yurt]
