Accurate rappresentation of me when I realized I won't ever have that moment:
(I'm going to never forget this. If they don't even talk in the last book I'm going to crash out more-)

I was reading hidden oracle to my friend and we got to the part where Lester and Meg meet Nero at the entrance of the grove and Nero starts doing his villainy bullshit when my friend goes:
"What if Apollo just threatens to kill himself, since they need him alive and everything "
And i am just sitting there shocked, mouth agape because how the hell was he able to predict that.

I know we give Uncle Rick a lot of flak for his cliffhangers and killing our favorite characters. However be glad I didn’t write the series cause I would’ve brought tears. For starters there would be no chance Percy gets a happy ending. If I didn’t kill him in TLO, I definitely would’ve done so in BoO. I considered killing Annabeth instead but I think for maximum angst, Percy is much sadder. However maybe it would be enjoyable cause despite his immense powers, he still failed to save who mattered most to him. But I think him dying is better because then Annabeth can have a crisis about going through so much, looking for him for so long, just to lose him again, but this time for good. This obviously would’ve broken Annabeth leaving her in a catatonic state for an unknown about of time. Idk if I’d have her throw everything into her work or completely giving up on everything and just sitting on the porch of the big house staring into the distance. I also probably kill off Jason and Piper in BoO as well. The 3 would’ve died fighting the giants in Athens then the rest of the book would’ve unfolded similar to how it did. I might’ve kept Leo from dying but only so he could stew in the death of his 2 closest friends. Furthermore I would’ve 100% killed off Frank in Tyrant’s Tomb. I also would’ve killed a minimum of 1 named Apollo camper in The Hidden Oracle or maybe Tower of Nero; maybe both. I doubt I would’ve killed off Will though, probably Kayla or Austin. I also would’ve killed one of the Stoll brothers in TLO for maximum angst. Initially I was thinking Travis but I think Connor would hit harder cause then Travis could carry the weight of failing to protect his younger brother. On the plus side I probably would’ve had Katie consul him and maybe have them get together. Just think of the angst had the series ended on much darker notes.
Fortunately I’m an awful writer so alas this is not what happened nor shall I be writing fanfiction where it did.

Time Spent: Jan 31 - Feb 7
˗ˏˋ ★ ˎˊ˗
Rating: 4/5
Medium: Audiobook
Review: I started this when it first came out then never finished it so here i am back in my pjo hyperfix. I love the slow humanization of Apollo's personality. His progression is so good ty Rick. This is also my first full audiobook listen and I really enjoyed it. It's perfect for when I'm at work.

So we have three different time aproaches.
The one on the bottom is somewhere in the middle of the third book , witch can be seen by the pink military trousers that he is wearing and Meg having her gardening belt.
The one with the lightning symbolises the first book, he is wearing a orange CHB T-shirt.
In the right top corner, he is in the fourth book, his infection has already spread and his wound has broken up again, in his quiver the arrow of Dodona rests…

DID RICK JUST CALL JASON THE SON OF JUNO?!?!
Oh my poor heart-
They way this ties perfectly with the fact that it was Hera/Juno who mourned him and not his own father….
He really was her boy🥹

The Hidden Oracle has the possibility to be a psychological horror given the many destabilizing things the book contains.
The SUN GOD turned mortal, without much powers, for an indefinite period? The oracles got captured and there is a sentient one, calling you and attracting you in very dangerous places? Emperors of a forgotten past are back because they want to be gods? Having memory problems because your mortal brain can't remember almost anything? Doing a run in the Labyrinth without knowing where you are going (and isn't safe)?? Ending in the worst place you could ever end, with your enemy(ies) close to you? Having your children being kidnapped from you and almost put on fire in front of you? Being tormented by the thought of dryads, only to watch how they sacrifice themselves to help you out?
Half of this is like the start of an apocalypse.

i could never be a demigod because quests are literally only for morning people. like why do i have to wake up at the ass crack of dawn just to head to my imminent death with a side of eternal damnation. waking up that early is already punishment enough for paying the debt of my half-godly existence.
