it’s so difficult to choose solely one , but truth be told if it hadn’t been for loki idk if i’d ever fallen in love with tom . so it’s pretty self-explanatory that my favourite character is loki. i remember watching thor (2011) at the cinema and being completely starstruck by loki/tom . my “friends” said i was weird for liking a villian ugh . he’s so cute and tom is wonderful

Hiddles Birthday Week Day 4 (belated) - Favorite Costume

I mean, don’t get me wrong. Loki is very well dressed. But there’s just something about the simplicity and efficiency of Captain James Conrad’s soft blue t-shirt, black jeans, and the crisscrossed belt, straps, and holsters... not to mention the way he holds that gun, binoculars, steering wheel...katana.

Hello fellow Hiddlestoners!

It’s that time of year again where we all come together to celebrate Tom Hiddleston’s birthday. This year we are going to be hosting Hiddlesweek again and we would love it if you could join us as it’s Tom’s 40th!

We’re keeping the same themes that we introduced last year, and hopefully it will continue to make the event more accessible for everyone who wants to join in but doesn’t normally create content on Tumblr.

So, without further ado, here are the prompts we’ve selected for #Hiddlesbirthdayweek2021.

Day One: Wednesday (3rd February)

*          There are lots of interviews that leave lasting impressions. Did one include a particular quote that inspired you personally, or that made you laugh out loud. Or did you find the entire interview engaging or inspiring? Maybe it was a funny interview, or one where Tom was extra sassy with his responses. Or does Tom’s off-screen friendship with a cast member or colleague always make you smile? It could be Tom and Charlie Cox bonding over their failed auditions when they were younger, or his longstanding friendships with Eddie Redmayne and Benedict Cumberbatch. Maybe you love it whenever one of Tom’s character’s shares the screen with another character. This is your chance to share .

tom hiddleston + elizabeth olsen; i loved their chemistry in I saw the light (2015). though they’re both stars of the mcu, they’re characters haven’t yet shared the screen and i’d love to see that. i think they’re so adorable , their friendship is so cute

What Do You Admire Most About Tom?

Considering the man's damn near perfect, pinning this down to the quality I admire most will be a challenge.

*Loki whispers*: list several and then choose at the end... 😏

I respect and admire his intellect, both academic and emotional. I love how an interview with him is never boring or recycled. His ability to craft funny stories, answer a question with a thought-provoking idea or articulate his passion for his work is very inspiring. Listening to him talk you feel he's being honest about his answer and that he's genuinely thought it through. Yet despite his intelligence you never feel talked down to, because that's not, in my opinion, who I think Tom is. To me he comes across as sweet, humble and kind, with a positive attitude that I aspire to achieve in myself.

I love his playful and cheeky nature and that he doesn't take himself too seriously. No wonder he's perfect as the God of Mischief.

But what I find most admirable about him is his compassion. I think it's an incredible quality to have and one that I think he has what seems like an endless supply of. I honestly have very little doubt this is one of the many reasons he is such a compelling actor. The video where he talks about what compassion means to him as a person and as an actor shows you the level of dedication he puts into crafting a character, him being willing to "suffer with them" - whether they are the hero or villian, he's willing to understand their stance. It's what makes his performances so sincere and honest.

Wow this was tough. OK, so I cheated slightly - Loki made me 😏, that's the story I'm sticking to anyway. To be honest I could probably sing this wonderful man's praises some more, but this is already stupidly long, by the time I finish it'll be his 41st birthday.

Wishing this delightful man a safe, healthy and happy 40th birthday...

... I'm much obliged you feel that way, Tom 😏

Words cannot express what this man means to me. His kindness, compassion, humility, united to his talent and passion for his work really warm my heart and make me want to be a better person.

i’m not sure if this counts as an interview , but i honestly love this so much.  “I try not to feel guilty about pleasures, I think that if it’s a pleasure that’s not hurting anyone else, I think you should indulge it, and not feel guilty about it.”, it’s so uplifting !!! i used to feel super guilty after eating cake , but after this interview i realised how silly i was.  thanks tom I'm going to go eat some cake now <3
