Regular customer was right. If anything, Oz was allowed during open or closed hours whenever Valerie was out with the shop up. She could tell when he was around as well, learning his precise way of walking.

The knocking rouses Hope from her frustrations, and as Oz’s voice muffles its way through the door, a thought occurs. A pretty important one.

She rolls off her bed, walking over (still slumped from the utter exhaustion of the day) before she pulls her door open.

“Hey, bud- sorry, didn’t realize you were over. Hope my frustrations didn’t... interrupt anything? Actually, I don’t wanna know- the less I know about Joy’s sex life the better sometimes.”

She sighs, leaning against the door frame.

“Anyhow- hey, actually there’s some important things I probably need to talk to you about, re: getting involved in with Joy, and thusly the Coven by extension- have a second?”

Oz could get so quiet at times, truth be told she had kind of forgotten he was even here. The question (and subsequent reminder of his presence) doesn't scare her at least, because currently her body feels a bit like mush.

"Yeah, sorry buddy. Vera gave me a pill a little ago 'cause I was being "a lot" and she wanted me to calm down. Think it was a Xanax or something. Brain's just a little floaty." She blinks slow a few times, trying to gather her thoughts, whatever they had been about. "Mostly I was thinking about, like... if I could live in the woods, if I had to. But I don't think I could build a shelter without burning it down, so I'd need to find a cave or something. And basically you're smart so do you know any caves around here?" There was a bit of a surprised sound that came from the reaper at the sudden gift of affection. Milo turned and gave Oz a return kiss on the cheek.

"Hello my dear." They greeted with a smile. "To what do I owe the pleasure of receiving your affection?"

Aw look at fear being confident. Granted Milo started it first but that wasn't gonna change much. Milo took Oz's face in their hands, squished his cheeks and gave him a big long smooch. No interrupting it this time with words. Just a silly form of affection for another year gone by.

They gave him a smile and a light tap on his nose. "You, my darling, will be treated very well this year."

A promise of what was in the future? Absolutely. Milo would see to it personally.

Did Oz just want some quiet time alone, or something more fun?
