I shared that link for you to have context in case you hadn't seen it, not to out him to the ones who read your blog.  But yes I will never share that video again. That podcast had zero traction outside of its regular viewers who took little or no notice of the statement made in passing. It wasn't until days later a popular larrie tweeted it to her thousands of followers that it spread out to the fandom.  If I had come across that podcast on my own I would never have shared it with the intention of being proven right or to create theories out of it.  And that's the part that truly made me feel shameful and sick to my stomach. Some people were upset with him he made the comment but others were ok with it because they unfortunately have an understanding of Harry's closet that's a decade old. They said harry needs our help to come out and that normally outing someone is wrong but not in this case because harry is closeted against his will.  it's the ones who justified it or took pleasure out of it that will absolutely change the way I interact with harry/larry online queer discussion. Because of the way others reacted to it and made this whole thing into a bigger deal than it needed to be, maybe that's the control you're referring to. I want to control how others are interacting in fandom and I can't.   What I do want is for Harry to have his own control over when and if he comes out and not for someone else to do it for him.  And while the guy saying it might have been joking, saying Ed Sheeran told him harry is gay is more than anyone else said before in all the years of harry sexuality discussion. This was a definitive statement. Harry is gay. And if even one person now thinks he is gay as a result of this video,  which I have seen,  then he's been outed. And that's what makes me so upset.
Oh anon - I'm sorry this is causing you so much distress. I wasn't as considerate of that as I could have been with my response yesterday - I'm sorry for that.
I do think part of the distress comes from catastrophising - and I'm sure that's deeply rooted in your own experience. So I want to send you some love.
Also a lot of this is about other fans - you're super aware that you can't control other people - which is good. But I don't think it helps that you're giving them so much attention. Fans are incredibly annoying, but they don't matter that much. If what fans say is causing you a lot of distress the best step to take is just to walk away.
To move onto the more substative question. I want to start with a subtle distinction that is quite important. The fact that someone thinks that a person is gay does not mean that person has been outted. Outting isn't just about saying someone is gay, but involves authority in quite complex ways.
I think it helps to use that framework of authority to understand this interaction. An ex-youtube comedian told a story on a podcast about getting incredibly drunk with Ed Sheeran and said that Ed Sheeran said that Harry Styles was gay and this conversation took place at a time when people routinely used 'gay' as an insult to have nothing to do with who you were fucking. I think for most people that's not something that has a lot of authority.
I think it would be really helpful to step back a bit from a worldview that says 'if even one person thinks someone is gay, then that person has been outted'. It's super scary, but we can't control what other people think of us - and people do wonder if closeted people are queer.
With Harry in particular, it's useful to understand that people are not receiving that story in a vacuum. This story comes into the picture that people have already built up about Harry. What people have seen will vary, but the picture may include him dressing up as Dorothy, performing Medicine, dancing with pride flags, singing 'I will survive' to the biggest audience he's ever had and given a range of ambiguous responses to questions that come near his sexuality.
If the story was slightly different and the comedian had gotten drunk with someone who was talking about Ed Sheeran - then the response might be different. Some people would think 'I wonder if Ed Sheeran fucks men' more would probably think 'fuck it was terrible when people routinely used 'gay' as an insult'.
Harry doesn't have control over whether or not people think he's queer. But if you look at what he does have control over and how he's decided to present himself, I don't think your anxiety reflects what's going on for him. I think Harry knows that some people think that he's gay and has made decisions about how to present himself in that context.
Harry doesn't get, none of us get, the ability to control how we're perceived. But it is a little absurd to treat one person thinking Harry is gay as a result of watching a video as something that is hugely distressing and catastrophic, when he's dressed up as Dorothy on stage.

oh so its still a little hornets nest, well lets just leave this here for you to mull over.
Tumblr media
So I should probably explain this as it goes into backstage stuff that happened with Ever After High and Monster High as well as their Creator and the License contract as well as predatory practices of Hollywood. Recently in the every after high community there is a little blowback and forth about two characters possibly being Bisexual, if this was genuine there would be no issue however there is a sever lack of sincerity to the statement BECASE it is coming from someone with a invested interest in the show being "rebooted." This is bad because it goes into Investors having too much influence because they can throw their money around and is paired with the warning "The Whales are not your friends." Again if this was a genuine thing there would be no issue but the fact is as follows.
1.) Big pocket investors with DEI demands form Netflix pressured the original creator to leave Monster High and Ever After High under shady circumstances. There is a supposed active NDA preventing much information that can be questioned regarding this along with a non compete preventing the creator form making deals with other studios. As a result a Crossover featuring the character Astronova was canceled after being green lit. This in result tanked the value of the franchise some and is why some of the people involved with the "Ever After High and Monster High takeover" are now fussing on X about the killing of Noncompete in the US.
2.) A polar rumor says this was to prevent the franchises form being more successful than Barbie, a different one says it was related to false allegations that were spread at the time. The allegations in question were snuffed out due to the creator being a hermit and not sharing work and off work affairs so no one knew much about their life outside the studio. The most likely one is the old fashion big corpo wanted to Steal it. With the former having evidence in droves that Mattel wanted to stop it from being more poplar than their Flagship doll IP "Barbie." With their dirty fingers' in it Mattel could make sure the IP never outshined Barbie. (Yes this at the time was a conflict of interest as Barbie waning polarity and the corporation wanting fresh dolls to reinvigorate the market just letting this guy cook could have given them a New Flagship doll) You ready to get ticked off yet; The biggest reason the series was canceled was Netflicx and Mattel were pressuring DEI checklist that was exceptionally unreasonable on the creator. The Creator refused because it would ruin the Franchise and its message that was not rooted in Superficial traits (reference the entire Hood family form Ever After High or "Monster High: Ghouls Rule!" movie plot)
See the creator was against basing peoples Value on superficial traits and put that heavily into the lesion on the cartoon. Form the main plot of ever After High to even the light subplot of Monster High. Since thesis directly questioned the motives at the time of big investors like Blackrock and Vanguard who were Willing drop HUGE sums of money on anything that pushed a political message that contradicted the whole belief of the creator. The license holders ABUSED loopholes in the contract to push the creator out of their own IP and than went to a NDA and noncompete to silence and stop the creator form going elsewhere.
Given noncompete are now going out we may actually see a series on somewhere like tubi by Garrett Sander who hopefully by now managed to get out form the predatory Mattel contracts so he could have full creative freedoms and not just in making dolls and toys but his cartoons as well. He did a good job with Ever After High and Monster High thou the newer versos of the later are pure garbage in comparison.

I'm trying to write a post about tick safety and avoiding tick bites, but a lot of the info on websites is like "Avoid going in the woods, in plants, and where there are wild animals" and "Activities like hiking and gardening can put you at risk" and I'm like thanks! This is worthless!
As ticks and tick borne illnesses are expanding their range, I think it's important for people to be educated about these things, and I think it's especially important to give people actual advice on how to protect themselves instead of telling them to just...avoid the natural world
Rough draft version of Tick Advice:
Ticks don't jump down on you from trees, they get on you when you brush against grass, brush, bushes etc.
Ticks get brought to an area when they get done feeding from an animal and fall off them. In the USA, the main tick-bringing animal is deer, but I've seen plenty ticks on feral cats and songbirds.
Ticks get killed when they dry out so drier areas with more sunlight are less favorable to ticks.
The above is useful for figuring out whether an area is likely to have lots of ticks, and how vigilant you have to be in that area.
Wear light-colored, long pants outside. Tuck your pants into your socks, and tuck your shirt into the waist of your pants. Invest in light, breathable fabrics idc
IMMEDIATELY change out of your outside clothes when you come back from a tick-prone area, wash them, and dry them on high heat to kill any ticks that might be stuck on.
Shower and check yourself for ticks after coming inside. Hair, armpits, and nether regions in particular. You can use a handheld mirror or rely on touch; an attached tick will feel like a bump kinda like a scab
While you're outside, you can just periodically check for ticks by running your hands down your legs and checking visually to see if anything is crawling on your clothes. Light colors make them easy to spot, and they don't move fast.
Combing through each others' hair to check for creepy crawly critters is a time-honored primate ritual and is not weird. When hiking, bring a friend who will have your back when you feel something on your neck and need to know if it's sweat or a tick
If you're careful, you can usually catch ticks before they bite you, but if one does bite you, it's not the end of the world. Since tickborne diseases are different regionally i suspect this advice will differ based on where you are, but the important thing is remove the tick with tweezers (DON'T use butter, a lit match, or anything that kills the tick while it's still attached, please) and contact a doctor to see what to watch for. Most illnesses you can catch from ticks are easily treatable if you recognize them when symptoms first appear

XRP: The Sleeping Giant or a Crypto Tombstone?
New Post has been published on https://www.ultragamerz.com/xrp-the-sleeping-giant-or-a-crypto-tombstone/
XRP: The Sleeping Giant or a Crypto Tombstone?
XRP: The Sleeping Giant or a Crypto Tombstone?
Ripples of uncertainty continue to surround XRP, the controversial token associated with Ripple Labs. Unlike the wild swings experienced by other cryptocurrencies in recent months, XRP has remained stubbornly stagnant, a slumbering giant some might say, or perhaps a digital tombstone for overly optimistic investors.
A Brief History of XRP’s Legal Limbo:
The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) filed a lawsuit against Ripple Labs in December 2020, alleging XRP is an unregistered security. This lawsuit cast a heavy shadow over XRP’s future, creating a climate of fear and doubt among investors. The legal battle continues to drag on, with no clear resolution in sight.
March Madness or More Stagnation? Unpacking the Potential 25x Surge and Looming Dump Threat
The price of XRP, the token associated with Ripple Labs, has been a curious case in the ever-volatile crypto market. Unlike its brethren that experience wild swings and parabolic rises, XRP has remained stubbornly stagnant, leaving investors questioning its future. However, with March 2024 approaching, whispers of a potential “XRP March Madness” are swirling, hinting at a monstrous breakout that could redefine the coin’s fortunes. Let’s delve deeper into this intriguing scenario and explore the factors fueling this speculation.
Aligning the Stars: Favorable SEC Lawsuit Outcome and Market Momentum:
The ongoing legal battle between Ripple and the SEC remains the single biggest factor influencing XRP’s price. A favorable outcome for Ripple, meaning the court deems XRP not a security, could trigger a domino effect. Regulatory uncertainty would vanish, potentially attracting institutional investors who have been hesitant to enter the fray due to the ongoing lawsuit. This influx of new capital, coupled with renewed investor confidence, could ignite a buying frenzy, propelling XRP’s price significantly higher.
Technical Analysis: Bullish Signals and Breakout Potential:
Technical analysts scouring XRP’s charts have identified potential bullish signals hinting at an impending breakout. Price consolidation patterns and positive indicators like the Relative Strength Index (RSI) suggest XRP might be coiling up for a significant upward move. While technical analysis shouldn’t be the sole factor in investment decisions, these signals add fuel to the fire of the “XRP March Madness” narrative.
Community Sentiment and FOMO (Fear of Missing Out):
The crypto community thrives on hype and social media buzz. If XRP experiences a significant price jump in March, a wave of FOMO could propel the price even further. News outlets and social media influencers amplifying the narrative could create a self-fulfilling prophecy, attracting new investors eager not to miss out on the potential gains.
A Word of Caution: The Looming Dump Threat and Whale Activity:
While the prospect of a 25x surge is undoubtedly enticing, investors should remain cautious. Recent on-chain data reveals large transfers of XRP to cryptocurrency exchanges. This activity can be interpreted in two ways: either a prelude to a massive breakout or a worrying sign of whales (large holders) preparing to dump their XRP holdings, potentially causing a significant price drop.
Investing in XRP: Weighing Risk and Reward:
The potential March 2024 breakout for XRP presents a classic high-risk, high-reward scenario. A successful resolution of the SEC lawsuit and a confluence of positive factors could lead to explosive growth. However, the ongoing legal battle and the uncertainty surrounding whale activity inject significant risk into the equation. Investors with a high-risk tolerance and a strong understanding of the cryptocurrency market dynamics might consider XRP as a potential investment. However, thorough research, careful portfolio allocation, and a healthy dose of caution are paramount before diving in.
Stagnant Price, Shaky Future?
While the broader cryptocurrency market experiences periods of explosive growth and heart-stopping dips, XRP remains largely unmoved. This price stagnation has led some to question XRP’s viability as an investment.
A Potential Monster Awakening?
However, some analysts believe XRP could be on the verge of a monstrous breakout. Should the SEC lawsuit be settled favorably for Ripple, XRP’s price could potentially surge by a staggering 25x or more. This scenario, while enticing, is far from guaranteed.
Whale Activity and the Dumping Specter:
Adding another layer of intrigue, recent on-chain data reveals large transfers of XRP to cryptocurrency exchanges. This activity could be interpreted in two ways: either a potential prelude to a massive breakout or a worrying sign of whales preparing to dump their XRP holdings, further depressing the price.
Is XRP Worth the Risk?
The current situation surrounding XRP presents a classic risk-reward scenario. A successful resolution of the SEC lawsuit could lead to explosive growth, but the uncertainty surrounding the legal battle makes XRP a gamble at best. Investors seeking more stable or demonstrably growing investment opportunities may be better off looking elsewhere.
Final Thoughts:
XRP remains a sleeping giant, but whether it awakens as a majestic beast or simply crumbles to dust is a question only time, and the ongoing legal saga, will answer. Investors should approach XRP with extreme caution and conduct thorough research before making any investment decisions. Remember, in the world of cryptocurrency, sometimes the biggest risks lead to the biggest rewards, but they can also lead to the biggest losses.
SEO Keywords: XRP, Ripple Labs, SEC lawsuit, cryptocurrency, March 2024, breakout, institutional investors, technical analysis, FOMO, whale activity, investment, risk-reward, high-risk tolerance, portfolio allocation.

Tbh at this point you should just make your own webcomic app/website because it would probably be 100 times better than whatever going on with webtoon right now.
hahaha it wouldn't tho, sorry 💀
Here's the fundamental issue with webcomic platforms that a lot of people just don't realize (and why they're so difficult to run successfully):
Storage costs are incredibly expensive, it's why so many sites have limitations on file sizes / page sizes / etc. because all of those images and site info have to be stored somewhere, which costs $$$.
Maintenance costs are expensive and get more so as you grow, you need people who are capable of fixing bugs ASAP and managing the servers and site itself
Financially speaking, webcomics are in a state of high supply, low demand. Loads of artists are willing to create their passion projects, but getting people to read them and pay for them is a whole other issue. Demand is high in the general sense that once people get attached to a webtoon they'll demand more, but many people aren't actually willing to go looking for new stuff to read and depend more on what sites feed them (and what they already like). There are a lot of comics to go around and thus a lot of competition with a limited audience of people willing to actually pay for them.
Trying to build a new platform from the ground up is incredibly difficult and a majority of sites fail within their first year. Not only do you have to convince artists to take a chance on your platform, you have to convince readers to come. Readers won't come if there isn't work on the platform to read, but artists won't come if they don't think the site will be worth it due to low traffic numbers. This is why the artists with large followings who are willing to take chances on the smaller sites are crucial, but that's only if you can convince them to use the site in favor of (or alongside) whatever platform they're using already where the majority of their audience lies. For many creators it's just not worth the time, energy, or risk.
Even if you find short-term success, in the long-term there are always going to be profit margins to maintain. The more users you pull in, the more storage is used by incoming artists, the more you have to spend on storage and server maintenance costs, and that means either taking the risk at crowdfunding (ex. ComicFury) or having to resort to outsider investments (ex. Tapas). Look at SmackJeeves, it used to be a titan in the independent webcomic hosting community, until it folded over to a buyout by NHN and then was pretty much immediately shuttered due to NHN basically turning it into a manwha scanlation site and driving away its entire userbase. And if you don't get bought out and try your hand at crowdfunding, you may just wind up living on a lifeline that could cut out at any moment, like what happened to Inkblazers (fun fact, the death of Inkblazers was what kicked off the cultural shift in Tapas around 2015-16 when all of IB's users migrated over and brought their work with them which was more aimed towards the BL and romancee drama community, rather than the comedy / gag-a-day culture that Tapas had made itself known for... now you deadass can't tell Tapas apart from a lot of scanlation sites because it got bought out by Kakao and kept putting all of its eggs into the isekai/romance drama basket.)
Right now the mindset in which artists and readers are operating is that they're trying way, way too hard to find a "one size fits all" site. Readers want a place where they can find all their favorite webtoons without much effort, artists wants a place where they can post to an audience of thousands, and both sides want a community that will feel tight-knit. But the reality is that you can't really have all three of those things, not on one site. Something always winds up having to be sacrificed - if a site grows big enough, it'll have to start seeking more funding while also cutting costs which will result in features becoming paywall'd, intrusive ads, creators losing their freedom, and/or outsider support which often results in the platform losing its core identity and alienating its tight-knit community.
If I had to describe what I'm talking about in a "pick one" graphic, it would look something like this:
Tumblr media
(*note: this is mostly based on my own observations from using all of these sites at some point or another, they're not necessarily entirely accurate to the statistical performance of each site, I can only glean so much from experience and traffic trackers LMAO that said I did ask some comic pals for input and they were very helpful in helping me adjust it with their own takes <3).
The homogenization of the Internet has really whipped people into submission for the "big sites" that offer "everything", but that's never been the Internet, it relies on being multi-faceted and offering different spaces for different purposes. And we're seeing that ideology falter through the enshittification of sites like Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, etc. where users are at odds with the platforms because the platforms are gutting features in an attempt to satisfy shareholders whom without the platforms would not exist. Like, most of us aren't paying money to use social media sites / comic platform sites, so where else are they gonna make the necessary funds to keep these sites running? Selling ad space and locking features behind paywalls.
And this is especially true for a lot of budding sites that don't have the audience to support them via crowdfunding but also don't have the leverage to ask for investments - so unless they get really REALLY lucky in EITHER of those departments, they're gonna be operating at a loss, and even once they do achieve either of those things there are gonna be issues in the site's longevity, whether it be dying from lack of growing crowdfunding support or dying from shareholder meddling.
So what can we do?
We can learn how to take our independence back. We don't have to stop using these big platforms altogether as they do have things to offer in their own way, particularly their large audience sizes and dipping into other demographics that might not be reachable from certain sites - but we gotta learn that no single site is going to satisfy every wish we have and we have to be willing to learn the skills necessary to running our own spaces again. Pick up HTML/CSS, get to know other people who know HTML/CSS if you can't grasp it (it's me, I can't grasp it LOL), be willing to take a chance on those "smaller sites" and don't write them off entirely as spaces that can be beneficial to you just because they don't have large numbers or because they don't offer rewards programs. And if you have a really polished piece of work in your hands, look into agencies and publishing houses that specialize in indie comics / graphic novels, don't settle for the first Originals contract that gets sent your way.
For the last decade corporations have been convincing us that our worth is tied to the eyes we can bring to them. Instead of serving ourselves, we've begun serving the big guys, insisting that it has to be worth something eventually and that it'll "payoff" simply by the virtue of gambler's fallacy. Ask yourself what site is right for you and your work rather than asking yourself if your work is good enough for them. Most of us are broke trying to make it work on these sites anyways, may as well be broke and fulfilled by posting in places that actually suit us and our work if we can. Don't define your success by what sites like Webtoons are enforcing - that definition only benefits them, not you.
