After the Undercroft incident, they began to understand each other better, when Johanna acknowledged his anger and Ominis realized she just wanted to help. Their bond continued to grow as she sided with him and by sixth year they are closer than best friends. Despite deciding to turn in Sebastian together Johanna later felt guilty and was angry with Ominis for not telling her what Azkaban was like. Their connection deepens over time and they eventually fall in love.

♡︎ Sebastian Sallow- Sebastian and Johanna shared a deep unwavering friendship for over a year and half built on trust, mutual respect, and shared experiences. It balanced between friendship and something more intimate right before things went downhill. Alyn was the first one to understand her fears and trust issues. They become inseparable and spend a lot of time together. She was one of the main pushes that helped Silas and Jo get together. She's a quiet and sweet soul who is a trustworthy constant companion. Alyn is @ps-cactus mc.

Upon relocating with her mother and sister to England they took the name "Newman" and met Fig, enrolling at Hogwarts as a fifth year. Fig became like a father to her and while she was there she became the Keeper of Ancient Magic and stopped Ranrok. Although she tried to help Sebastian, she eventually had to turn him in after he murdered his uncle- a decision she deeply regrets and seeks to remedy.

"I'm bloody boiled!" James exclaimed, rolling over. He wasn’t sure if the heat that was almost suffocating him was due to the weather or the anticipation of what he was about to do. His head was in Val's lap and she was meticulously applying some sort of diamante gems to the corners of his eyes. 

"Take your jumper off then, idiot" Ellie rolled her eyes, popping a grape in her mouth, grinning in a way which assured James she was teasing. 

"Ah, Ellsie lellsie my dear, if you wanted to see my beautiful arms, all you had to do was ask" James said with a grin, stripping off his jumper (to Val’s protest as the gems hadn’t had time to set yet) and leaving him in a vest shirt. Ellie threw a grape at him. 

James had decided to organise a picnic in an area just off the side of Hogsmeade due to the weather being absolutely beautiful over the past week, a new record for the Scottish Highlands, complete with melted chocolate and crackers, marshmallows and various fruits (organised by Jo due to her better organising skills.)

"Nobody wants to see your noodles, Jamie" Ale helped himself to one of Cal's crackers. James looked scandalised. 

"I'll have you know-" 

"Ladies, please," Tori drawled, a huge grin on her face. "We all know I'm the buffest of them all." 

Sebastian snorted. Tori rolled her eyes, then shot a glance directly at Seb. "You're barely the same height as Poppy's mooncalf, Sallow, your opinion doesn't matter to me." 

Now it was Sebastian's turn to look scandalised. However, instead of making a quip back, he simply crossed his arms and leaned against Damien, who was busy trying to see how many crackers he could build a semi-stable tower with on his knee. 

"Have you tried gluing them with chocolate fondue?" Ale piped up.

 Damien shook his head. "I'm disappointed, Salvatori." 

Ale frowned. "It's a plausible idea!" 

"You're a plausible idea."

"Now that doesn't even make any- ow!" Ale was cut off as Matty prodded his shoulder. 

"Behave yourself, Alejandro." She said firmly with a sigh, and Ale pouted. 

"Yes Mother" he mocked, laying back in the grass and letting Val settle a dandelion crown on his head. 

"You know, guys, we should do this sort of thing more often," Jo said from where she was peacefully braiding daisies into Wren's hair. 

"Agreed." added Cal through a mouthful of olive breadstick, causing Mads to wrinkle up his nose and hand Cal a tissue for the crumbs he was dropping every so often. 

Cal then called out, “Oi, join the party, nerds!”

Theo and Ren looked up from where they were annotating books together, Ren with a scowl on his face, Theo with a sheepish smile and a murmured apology.

“Leave them be, it’s a miracle Blondie showed up anyway,” James grinned, only to immediately hold his hands up in surrender when Ren shot him a death glare. 

“Oh, crap, I almost forgot!” James stood up as if he was about to make a speech, and Ren tapped his palm to his forehead with a muttered ‘idiot’. 

“I organised-” James cut off with Matty’s Jo, “we organised today for a reason, guys.” 

“So it wasn’t just an excuse for you to stuff your face?” Tori called out, to which everyone laughed. 

“I can’t believe you guys aren’t taking this seriously.” James frowned, fighting back a smile. He huffed, then moved to where Ren was sitting on the picnic blanket. Ren raised an eyebrow warily, to which James let out a soft huff of laughter. 

“Florence Janel Chateaux,” James grinned, kneeling Dramatically in front of Ren. “Uhhhh…” 

Great. Perfect time for his mind to go blank. Alyn held up her thumbs in a show of support. 

“Oh, right. Ren. Will you…” he held out a cute little box, “be my boyfriend?” 

Ren’s mouth was slightly open in awe, his eyes shining with something that looked suspiciously like unshed tears. He immediately launched himself into James’ arms, setting his elegant fingers on James’ face and kissing him, hard. A loud cheer erupted from everyone watching, and Ale let out a wolf whistle. 

“Well,” James murmured with a grin, out of breath. “That went better than I expected.”

Alright, here we go. It’s kinda rushed because I completely lost track of time. But I wanted to get you something!

Edward Glasspetal wasn’t the best at talking to others. He tended to go on very long, very in-depth rambles whenever he got particularly excited about something. Most of his fellow students, even fellow Ravenclaws, didn’t match his enthusiasm and found it off-putting.

But not Jo.

She let him talk for hours at a time about anything and everything he had learned and found fascinating; even joining in and actively conversing with him. What others found irritating, she found endearing. When others pushed him away, she drew him closer.

She was so special to Edward, so he wanted to do something special for her on her birthday. No, he needed to show her how much she meant to him.

He waited by their meeting spot, a quiet bench in the Hufflepuff gardens, holding what he hoped were acceptable gifts for a friend: a bouquet of sunflowers, a necklace, and a golden Claddagh ring he had made himself. 

Of course, it didn’t even occur to him that the ring could mean something other than friendship. He really hoped she (or Silas) wouldn’t get the wrong idea.

Right as he was starting to put the ring away, deciding it was too much, he heard her footsteps approaching. Edward took a deep breath and turned around to face her.

“Happy birthday Johanna.” he said, holding out the bouquet.

As usual, Jo looked stunning. Even with the shocked expression on her face. And when she smiled, he felt his heart melt.

“Edward, you didn’t need to do anything,” said Jo. “Really. Your company is enough.”

“But I wanted to do something.” Edward held out the bouquet, placing it into her hands. “You… well, you mean a lot to me.”

Jo grasped the sunflowers in her delicate hands, holding them close to her chest. She looked down at the yellow flowers and back up at him. “You’re something else, you know that?” 

Edward laughed with her, running a hand through his brown hair. It was still shocking to him how easily she was able to make him happy. Just a simple smile was enough to make even the dullest day brighter.

“I also got you this.” Edward handed her the emerald necklace, his hands shaking ever so slightly. “It’s your birthstone. Represents rebirth. Or renewal. I don’t remember which one.”

Another laugh from him. This one from nerves. His hand shook even more as he took the ring out of his pocket.

“And… this is a ring. For you.” Edward winced. “Obviously. Otherwise I wouldn’t be giving it to you. It’s… um… not romantic or anything. It… it represents friendship. Not romance or anything—”

He was interrupted by Jo grasping onto his hand, squeezing it gently. His face began to redden at the touch.

“Edward. It’s lovely.”

Edward let out a sigh of relief. He helped her get the ring on, as well as the necklace. Then, he gave her one final gift.

A hug.

“Thank you for everything,” he mumbled against her hair. “Your friendship means everything to me.”

Jo wrapped her arms around him and hugged him back. “Me too Edward. Me too.”

♡︎ Sebastian Sallow - Did someone say trauma bonding? Elsie and Sebastian have a deep love and care for one another, but also a frustrating one. They are both too afraid to of being alone, and so they have a constant need to be near the other. Although Elsie helped Sebastian in fifth year, she never felt pity for him. She felt what she was doing was right and was drawn to the boy because of how he treated her - like she was worth trusting. Their love came slowly but magnificently and it remains unbreakable. You can find them together, often bickering over something mundane, or dueling side by side.

♡︎ Ominis Gaunt - Ominis and Elsie originally did not see eye-to-eye, Ominis not appreciating how Elsie encouraged Sebastian to pursue any means necessary to save his sister. Slowly, they came to realise how similar they were and bonded over their family situations. Elsie and Ominis are confidants - most people would assume they were dating if they saw them together, but they are simply platonic soulmates. Together they are their most authentic selves.

♡︎ Poppy Sweeting - Poppy fully believes that Elsie is much too gentle to have been properly sorted into Slytherin, but Elsie insists that Poppy just brings the best out in her. They spend hours together caring for creatures, researching beasts and enjoying each others company. You can often find them hiking through the Highlands together.

Edward Glasspetal

Edward Lucian Glasspetal (1876-1947) was a pureblood wizard who attended Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in the late 19th century. His strong sense of justice led him to get into some extremely difficult situations, but he managed to hold his own.

Born to Fionn and Laoise Glasspetal in Ireland, Edward had a pretty normal childhood. His family moved to Little Hangleton when he was five years old into the manor that would stay in his family for generations to come. It was there he met the Gaunts, who didn’t live that far away from his own home. Was he close with them? Not really. But he knew them.

Edward mostly tried to get through Hogwarts with as little drama as possible. He did his work at an acceptable level and kept his head down for the most part. Then he became closer to Ophelia Gaunt, and things took a turn.

Ophelia and Edward’s relationship was one built on passion and little else. Both were extremely lonely and wanted to get closer to the other to feel something. Edward was unaware Ophelia was using him.

The two were set to be married when their already unstable relationship began to crumble. Edward came home from work as an Auror to find Ophelia in an unhinged state. She had convinced herself that he was cheating on her and was going to trap him in an eternal prison for his infidelity: a mirror realm. Her plan backfired however, and Edward was the one to trap her in the mirror.

He went on his own for a while after that. The idea of putting himself out there and opening up for the potential to be hurt again.

Then, he met her.
