Oh do I ever!

Last time, I went on a tangent on how I think the entire (modern) Irken species came to be, so this time I'll feed you bullet points:

Irken "worm tongues" are meant for lingual luring (luring prey into a predator's mouth by using their tongue as bait). In the real world, you can see this in action in alligator snapping turtles. Irkens used to hunt like this in prehistoric times, but they prefer highly processed food nowadays.

As for the whole herbivore vs omnivore debate, irkens are herbivorous (flat teeth!), but (should) supplement their diets with meat. Fun fact: IRL herbivores aren't as strict as we were taught! Many deer, cows, horses among others voluntarily eat meat when given the chance. However, modern irkens generally see natural meat as disgusting (ESPECIALLY if it's not from Irk, think of all that foreign bacteria!) and will only eat heavily processed fake factory meat.

Irkens have fluoride in their saliva (and naturally minty breath). It's how I justify them eating so much sugar without having to brush their teeth.

Irkens were swamp tree dwellers in their prehistoric era. Their sharp hands and feet were for climbing bark and their green color was for camouflage!

Prehistoric irkens were REALLY small, as in "iguana sized" small. They grew to various human sizes by the time they developed their society because of mating preferences (even their feral lizard brains HATED being small).

Irkens used to greet each other by hooking their antennae and rubbing them (see my antennae post for more on this), but if you do this nowadays, you look extremely weird.

Like the permeable skin of a frog, Irken skin absorbs fluids! This why they use dry "cleansing chalk" in place of soap and why Zim and Tak are extremely sensitive to chemicals in Earth liquids. It's a useful feature for staying hydrated in a moist swamp, but terrible when coming into contact with anything that's not pure natural water.

Of course, a lot of people are only here for the mating/reproduction headcanons, so here's a rundown of natural irkens smeets: they were laid in softshell eggs, but laying these eggs sucked because their increasingly larger heads meant laying larger eggs as they evolved.

I love social media aus so much. I read so many of them on Twitter, which those are like on another level. None of them are for Haikyuu, though. There was one I read recently that took like 16 hours to read since it had 220k words of written parts. I could never accomplish that.

Being good at argumentative writing is important! I'm going back to college in the fall, and I'm genuinely not prepared for those kinds of essays. I can do a basic essay and a research paper, but anything more is a struggle. Also, both of those professions are impressive.

I am primarily a dub watcher, but there are some that I fully believe that sub is better. Haikyuu depends. I do think the first two seasons are great for the dub, but I will never watch s3 and s4 in dub. The characterization and narrative is just better in sub.

Alright, get ready for this long essay.

1. So I will be sharing multiple fics here. Miya Atsumu and the Chronic Lovesick Disease is my favorite Haikyuu reader fic. I just could not stop reading it, and it made me love Atsumu more. One of my fav male reader fics ever is Soothe Your Scars, which is an Obey Me fic. An honorable mention is Evanescent, an incomplete smau. Make sure to read the tags on that one, though.

Now, for my fics. My favorite Haikyuu fic I've written is Hold Me Tight, which is an oc fic and not complete. It's actually one of my harder fics to write because of how much goes on in the actual story and behind the scenes. I will also include Changes, the AU of HMT. It was so fun to write. I know that people aren't always big fans on original character fics, but I'm so thankful that there have been people who have been supportive. It's made it all better.

For my reader fics, though, I will have to say First Words. That fic was the beginning of me looking into worldbuilding in fics (the relationship between soulmates and Hanahaki), which is now one of my favorite things to do. I will say there are so many things I would change if I were to write it now, but for back then, it was so big for me. Also, lots of fond memories of writing it.

2. I love fall! The aesthetic is my favorite. Or season four if you mean that?

3. I am someone who just does not go on vacation. I rarely leave my house. But maybe Argentina.

4. Currently, I only speak English, but I've been learning Spanish. I've been learning it on Duolingo, which really isn't the best way to learn it speaking/listening wise. None of it is authentic, but it's a really great way to learn the basics you need when going to learn it in that culture. (This is from someone who studies linguistics and plans to teach ESL.)

5. Okay, so I've been into Kpop for a year now, but in general, I like indie, pop, and acoustic the most. I like songs that I can lay in bed and cry to if they're in English. Kpop is more like One Direction vibes (I love One Direction so much). My current favorite artists are Tomorrow x Together, Enhypen, and Baekhyun.

I think you divide 20 questions into 10 questions each. So, I only have two left. Hopefully, they are good questions.

i didnt take hmt so im not so familiar with how the subject is, but im sure its comparable to hcl. For all language subjects, try to read up on current affairs and take note of significant, newsworthy events which can be tied in to a certain topic. here’s an example: people pushing for the ban of the wildlife trade after the novel coronavirus outbreak. OR how NUS scientists recently discovered a way of removing plastic. collect links and information on different topics and paste them in a google docs (or somewhere convenient for you) under several topics e.g. science and tech, environment, society. make mindmaps on these topics(reasons, impacts, suggestions etc., quotes from significant figures), and notes on the specific events themselves. do so in both languages (helps paper 1 and paper 4). memorise all SW formats. rmb to think how you can USE THESE TO ARGUE LOGICALLY. because strong evidence without a logical argument is weak evidence anyway. for comprehension, really pay attention to the question and the way it’s phrased. nothing is there ‘just because’ -- every word has a reason for being there. look out for contextual clues and hidden pointers as to what a certain phrase, event, emotion, item or even character represents etc. answer in the format your teachers have taught you. (E.g. unusual + effective). 

for math, simple. listen in class, copy down example problems gone thru by the teacher and UNDERSTAND EVERY STEP. dont blindly apply formula because now the papers are set in a way we’ve never seen before. don’t be shocked by a ‘new’ question just because you spent all your time blindly applying and memorising. then, do all your work and check your answers. DO NOT COPY THE ANSWER SHEET because you’re cheating yourself. constantly do a few practice qns here and there and go for consultations the moment you realise something is wrong or you don’t understand some concept or formula. math is rly about understanding and practice lah don’t worry.

i didnt take any combined science so idk what’s included or excluded in both HAHA im sorry. but sciences i would pre-read the textbook, then go into class and actually pay attention. link what you read to what’s being taught. when you get home, watch a video on the topic to further solidify and fortify your understanding (or don’t, if it’s something as simple as cells/atomic structure). i usually do linear notes for sciences, taking notes from ppt slides, class notes and textbooks. copy down any additional info that your teacher says because it MAY come out in section C application. understand the links between certain chapters (redox and metals etc., digestive system & cells, mvmt of subs, enzymes etc.) so that you’re well prepared for novel question types. again, consult teachers if you’re not sure. do practice papers ONLY AFTER YOU UNDERSTAND THE CONCEPT & REASONING BEHIND THE ANSWERS otherwise doing a 100 would still be useless. rmb the certain phrasing and keywords for certain qns bcos if you lack those you might not be awarded the full marks.

for ss+hist, memorise all your sbq formats and know how much time you can spend on sbq in order to score the maximum mark in the shortest possible amount of time. strategise your time. I always do SEQ SRQ first because i alr studied for those so i wanna regurgitate everything before i panic and forget lol so u might wanna consider that. for notes, you can do linear/mindmap form (depends what works best for you, try and experiment) but usually my class notes are mindmap form (cue mad scribbling). memorise smart - one example per point. u only need one solid example and a good explanation to ace it. ps i’ve heard oversimplified is good for history so you can check that out!

for geog (i didnt take pure geog!) i would say quickly consult teachers for fieldwork-related issues because fieldwork in geog is like practical stuff imposed onto paper which can be difficult for some people to grasp. so please do go for consults! again, notes in mindmap/linear form work pretty well! just choose what works for you. for PGeog, memorise how all the processes happen. for factors (any factors, PGeog and HGeog) same thing, memorise one solid example and rly UNDERSTAND the topic so that you can craft a good explanation (even if you forget) also watch vids if you dont get it!

ok that’s all. rmb that scoring straight As is a combination of discipline, good study habits, actually studying, studying and taking the examination ‘smartly’, and exam time management. it’s also a matter of not giving up on the goals you have for yourself! so jiayou and keep working hard!

We didn’t go to church again today because we woke up late. My parents brought me things to use for today and Carlos saw Pablo because my parents brought him to the condo. We got Indonesian food in Kapitolyo today and I was not able to enjoy it that much because I don’t like AC and Carlos’ brother which is not right but my hatred I cannot seem to control. However, I chose to have fun because Carlos’ parents were there. 

7 - Monday 

I had HECUSOC today and after that, I just studied for BUSANA2 and PARTCOR. I was able to take a break early because I was done. I also worked out today after a long time. 

8 - Tuesday 

I had two quizzes today such as BUSANA2 and PARTCOR. I was anxious the whole day as well. We also reported today for TAX and I’m happy we are finally done. I am nervous about BUSANA2 because there are no certainties to the right answer. For PARTCOR, the quiz was easy because sir made it a giveaway quiz. P.S. I also got my new camera today!

9 - Wednesday 

Hecusoc was free cut today. All I did was study in the morning for my ACFINA quiz and went to the lab. I was furious with Carlos because I was so hungry and I was locked out of his room. I shouldn’t overreact that much, I cut ACCTREM today to study for ACFINA3 and my teeth were swelling so I felt sick. 

10 - Thursday 

Today was quiz day and I realized that I had a careless mistake. In PARTCOR, I volunteered for recitation and am relieved that I am finally done. In Tax, I felt bad because I attended a class for the first time in tax without reading beforehand because of my ACFINA3 quiz. 

11 - Friday

Today I had Lasare orientation and I realized that this is the only class I will have with Carlos ever. We were really high the whole time. Carlos was able to talk to my accounting classmates also. As for my calories, I ate fit kitchen as breakfast and a small portion of Peppero DQ... We also got HMT and got Bacsilog which was against the rules. I also went to my supposed to be makeup class and cut it either way. I got a 44/50 which did not include my careless mistake. We just chilled in the room the whole day. 

Wow, it’s been a long time since I wrote... I’ll be writing short entries to prevent boredom from reading...

FINAL THOUGHTS: I noticed that I get angry for the most nonsense stuff and Carlos understands me for it... I should change that. I should also stop being so narcissistic and find beauty in myself and to others. I should do photography because I enjoy it and not because I’m bragging my material wealth or enjoyments.

Let's discuss a big one: THE ORIGIN OF THE IRKEN SPECIES! Or at least the modern iteration we know.

I was originally going to ask Jhonen Vasquez about THIS at Galaxycon Columbus 2023, but I quickly realized while I was there that Jhonen isn't actually holding this big locked vault of serious alien lore, he just kind of fucks around and finds out when it comes to developing irkens.

But hey, I have my own cool ideas!

Irkens couldn't have just...spawned in the way that they are. They had to have some eggs before their chickens, some irkens existing in a different way before there were paks. They have natural, biological brains inside them like the one we see in Bad, Bad Rubber Piggy

As they are, irkens are designed to be very overpowered; their young adulthood lasts for a LONG time, they heal absurdly fast, they're born already able to walk, talk, and take care of themselves, AND they don't have to eat, drink, sleep, or use the bathroom.

So it's my headcanon that the modern irken species didn't evolve all these naturally, it was DESIGNED to be as flawless as possible.

The defining traits of irkens (at least those in the majority) is that they're annoying, they're entitled, and they NEED convenience. Notice how every planet Irkens conquer (at least lately) isn't turned into a military base or another city, it's always something like a parking lot or a restaurant planet, something entirely self serving for their own convenience. Hell, the tallest don't even want to fly in anything other than a straight line.

THEREFORE, I believe that Irkens either paid or just demanded that vortians edit their gene pool.

"But sir, I can't just edit your entire species' DNA! This is dangerous AND unethical!"

"Here's 500,000 monies, make us live forever"

"Okie dokie!"

Notice how selective their biological conveniences are, it's all Alexandria's Genesis tier stuff. Like they don't HAVE to eat and they don't HAVE to sleep, but they can still gain pleasure from it!

And short irkens still have to exist because the tall irkens think they make REALLY good tables. If anything, they probably made tall irkens taller and short irkens shorter just to make the dichotomy worse.

This is also one of the reasons why irkens started mass producing themselves artificially, it's so they can keep upgrading themselves biologically and control the entire population's genes. Other reasons include "so we never have to deal with smeets throwing tantrums in public ever again" and "so we don't have to pay anyone parental leave"

Gazmandy dibper double date

First of all, it's either Dib's idea or Mable set them all up to go together. Gaz wouldn't want her brother to "intrude" on her date with Mandy, but Dib would be very interested in meeting Mandy: the girl dating HIS sister (gotta make sure she treats her well) and the girl who owns the mf grim reaper

If Mable planned it, they're at an arcade. If Dib planned it, they're out in the woods looking for cryptids.

In practice, Gaz would be like a fourth wheel most of the time because Dib and Dipper would have so many questions for Mandy. But she would find ways to distract them so she can get back to Gaz. Gaz is a total introvert, so she prefers less attention on her, but she would get annoyed with the guys bombarding Mandy eith pointless questions.

As for Gaz's feelings on Dipper in this scenario, I think she'd just see him as an extension of her brother. She'd be happy that they're together because it FINALLY gives Dib someone to nerd out with instead of him trying to force her into his interests. The only time Gaz and Dipper would directly bond is by playing arcade games together while Gaz gives him a talk along the lines of "Look, my brother's been looking for someone like you for a long time. DON'T RUIN IT."

TL;DR Gaz and Dib would both want to make sure their sibling's partner doesn't ruin their life and Mandy would get a lot of questions about Grim and the underworld

Oh sorry to vent a bit but regarding my last ask I also feel some of the IZ comics were straight up bad. That Gargantis Array storyline was so shitty and mean-spirited to Dib for no good reason, and I cannot understand why people said it was a good Debut. I feel some would say "Invader Zim has mean humor suck it up LOL" but parts like this feel like Dib just exists to be humiliated and shit on forever. I realize I rant about this a lot but when the movie uses this as a premise it's hard to ignore.

I have way more problems with other issues (mainly 21, it completely misinterprets what a Gaz under Zim's influence would be like and it makes me FERAL) but fair take
