I feel like the reason why people are pointing to JM akgaes is because there are more people in the current process of becoming JM akgaes, because the breaking point for a bunch of superbiased Jimin-biased Jikookers was the Face v. 7 comparison. Felt like this 'turnover' point for KTH akgaes from Tkkrs was 2017-18. The mistreatment rhetoric was everywhere and even today the Burn the Stage documentary is the holy grail of mistreatment for KTHs.
I wanted to ask you, BPP, what do you make of V's reduced streaming numbers in USA? I was surprised. Does this represent Army's true power with JM / JK's numbers being an additional cherry on top (or whole sundae on top) because of GP / casuals / solos ; or is this a sign of the 'split focus' so-called OT7s with a bias towards members who are central to BTS' image in the USA; or have KTHs done permanent damage to goodwill among Army?
I know you're not V biased but if you have a breakdown to offer I would be greatly interested. (Vminimin bias here).

Ngl, this reminds me of the discourse about the difference in streaming performance between JITB and Indigo, where RM's streaming numbers were more than Hobi's in the US (and globally). Hobi akgaes thought it was weird considering Hobi had just done Lollapalooza and had a huge turnout. Just like back then, people discounted just how much the fandom shows that everyone here really just does what they want, how people's music preferences show up in their streaming habits, and they aren't coerced to stream like mindless orangutans in the fandom. Tae's album, just like Hobi's album, is really good, but it's also not in a genre a lot of people find accessible, very enjoyable, and can withstand streaming incessantly.
Look at the difference in streams between Yet to Come and RUN BTS.
All that aside, my perception is that the maknae-line have many people who bias them from the USA, but far as I can tell, Jimin has the most dedicated fans in the US, UK and Korea + Japan; Jungkook in the US, India, France and Japan; and Taehyung in China, SEA, and to a lesser degree, Japan and the US. I recall I've seen a few surveys here and there a few years ago (before 2019) that showed popularity rankings in various regions, but those rankings are no longer reliable as they've been gamed to hell by akgaes (usually Taehyung solos based on the instances and call-outs I've seen).
So, coupled with the fact not a lot of people care to constantly stream V's sleepy, vibey, but admittedly tasteful album because it's not their taste, it's also possible Taehyung has fewer heavily-biased fans in the US to compulsively stream his album, compared to Jimin or Jungkook. The fact any of the members show up on the charts at all is because of OT7 ARMYs, who have the absolute numbers to place the members high enough to chart even if each ARMY only contributes a handful of streams. Any group of akgaes who have been trying and failing to rechart on the most exclusive charts will tell you the same thing. It's literally a numbers game and ARMYs simply have the numbers.
Those who are biased generally push for the members they bias more, other factors like the genre and listenability of the song influences how the wider fandom responds, and the core of the fandom remains OT7 ARMYs who push each project in any case, and are the reason any of these projects can get those sort of recognitions to begin with.
These aren't comparisons that matter to me for any member, not for my biases and not for the maknae-line, because I do think they're unhelpful, generally very reductive, and only serve the purpose of inflating the egos of various akgaes who weaponize this data to show other members in the group are less deserving of their accomplishments and/or any support those members receive.
It's not like Tae's doing bad either lol.

Egypt maintains its position as first destination for MENA-based travellers in Q2 of 2018: Wego
Egypt maintained its position as the top destination for MENA-based travellers in the second quarter (Q2) of 2018, according to a research released on Monday by Wego, the online travel marketplace for the MENA area.
The popularity of several tourist locations among visitors from the MENA region is highlighted in this research. The destination rankings are based on the flight and lodging searches made by millions of Wego app and website users in the second quarter of 2018.
Egypt continues to be the top destination, per the survey, thanks to regional tourists' ongoing support, both for leisure and for business.
It went on to say that tourists just can't seem to stay away from this mysterious nation, which is well-known for its historical attractions, gorgeous river cruises, lively marketplaces, and overall value for money.
India, meanwhile, advanced significantly by two positions to take over second spot in Q2 2018 from fourth place in the same quarter of 2017.
According to the survey, this large increase is mainly due to the holy month of Ramadan, which starts in mid-May, and the large number of Indian expats living in the Gulf who choose to return home during this time (or right after).
Similarily, it moved up two spots in Pakistan from position 11 to position 9 for the same reason.
Meanwhile, it was revealed in the report that Saudi Arabia had lost ground.
According to the research, Saudi Arabia was formerly ranked second in Q2 2018 but has now dropped to third place.
The survey noted that domestic and foreign tourists travelling for business, pleasure, and Umrah (lesser pilgrimage) continued to find Saudi Arabia to be a popular destination in Q2.

In 2017 Moore joined the Los Angeles Museum of Tolerance Press Conference calling for tolerance and the end of bigotry.[12][13] Moore played a key role in the release of the historic Bahrain Declaration calling for rights for religious minorities in the Middle East. Days after the move of the Jerusalem embassy more led a multi-faith peace delegation from the Kingdom of Bahrain on a pilgrimage in Jerusalem.[13] Moore’s Bahraini trip to Jerusalem prompted his being listed on the electronic intifada for allegedly forging and alliance between Bahrain and Israel in defiance of the Arab boycotts of Israel.[14][15]
Moore met and raised awareness of human rights issues with the Saudi CP within weeks of the death of Khashoggi.[16] He also visited the country on 9/11 and is an advocate of the Crown Prince’s Vision 2030 reform agenda.[17] Moore participated in the announcement of the first ever Chief Rabbi for the United Arab Emirates[18] and held meetings with heads of state throughout the Islamic world with the Crown Prince of the United Arab Emirates in 2018[19] as well as advocating for persecuted Hindus in India.[20] He now serves on the ADL Task Force for Protecting Minority Groups in the Middle East.[21]

Here’s a hilarious fact one of my clients taught me today. Apparently, this bollywood movie from 2017 filmed partly in Lisbon was such a success,. it singlehandedly increased tourism in Lisbon and brought thousands of indian people into the country. The movie features a scene with a pretty well known fado singer (Cuca Roseta) in a restaurant singing fado, and that restaurant alone has seen so many new clients because of this scene alone. There are travel agencies in India that arrange tours entirely around this movie.
This movie alone brought such an insane fucking increase in tourism to Lisbon, the director was awared by the portuguese government 😂
What’s so funny is that my client told me this because he and his friends had reservations for a fado restaurant, and it’s the restaurant featured in this movie... and not only did the director actually picked a really fucking good restaurant, he chose a fantastic singer. Like holy shit this is so goddamn funny like LOOK AT THAT POSTER AT NOTICE THE NUMBER 7 PERFECTLY FRAMED WITH THE SCOOTER AND THE FLAG, HOW DID YOU GUYS HIT THE NAIL SO HARD ON THE HEAD LMAO

Why “The Stolen Kohinoor Diamond” Won't Make An Appearance At King Charles III's Coronation
— May 4, 2023 | By Lauren Frayer
Tumblr media
The Kohinoor diamond, set in the Maltese Cross at the front of the crown made for Britain's late Queen Mother Elizabeth, is seen on her coffin at London's Westminster Hall. LONDON — Of all the glittering British crown jewels, one will be conspicuously absent at King Charles III's coronation: the Kohinoor diamond.
Legend has it the 105-carat diamond — whose name means "mountain of light" in Persian — was found on a bank of the holy Krishna River in southern India at least 800 years ago. From there, the story goes, it spent centuries hidden inside a golden statue at a Hindu temple.
It passed through Mughal, Persian, Afghan and Sikh empires before ending up in the hands of Queen Victoria in the mid-19th century.
Along the way, people came to believe it was cursed. Calamity is said to have struck many a male royal who wore it. One strapped the diamond to his bicep. Another folded it into his turban. Most met grisly deaths — murdered, betrayed, defeated.

So it's thought that only women — especially queen consorts — can wear the Kohinoor safely. Elizabeth, the wife of King George VI, wore it to her coronation in 1937, and again to her daughter Elizabeth II's in 1953. (There is no known record of Queen Elizabeth II wearing the diamond).
According to tradition, King Charles III's wife Camilla would be the next to wear the jewel at this weekend's coronation ceremony. But she will wear a different crown, one with 2,200 smaller diamonds.

That's because the Kohinoor has become a focus of anti-colonial anger. India wants the diamond back.
And it's not alone. So do several other nearby countries — including Iran and Afghanistan — whose own royals and rulers, over the centuries, possessed the diamond. For now, though, the British royal family has no intention of parting with the giant gemstone.
The museum where it's kept on display, in the Tower of London, is a popular destination for South Asian tourists.
"I've learned my best swears in front of the Kohinoor, in three different languages," says historian Anita Anand, the coauthor of Kohinoor: The History of the World's Most Infamous Diamond. "Every time you bring someone over from India or Pakistan, they just swear at it! Swear at the fact that it's here."
After Queen Elizabeth died last year, the Indian government said it has repeatedly raised the issue of repatriating the Kohinoor with the British government.
And this winter, Buckingham Palace made an announcement: The royal family had decided to leave the controversial gem out of the coronation ceremony for Charles and Camilla.
For now, it remains locked in the Tower of London, advertised as a "symbol of conquest" — firmly on British soil.

A Diamond the Size of a Coconut
Centuries before humans began mining diamonds deep underground, gems were only discovered after working their way up to the Earth's surface. And one of the places they seemed to do that most was the area of the Golconda alluvial mines, in southern India.
That's where, 800 or so years ago, someone went to take a bath in the Krishna River and apparently stumbled upon the biggest diamond then known in the world. Legend has it that it was the size of a coconut.
"People used to go to the rivers and take baths, and there were no soaps or cosmetics at the time, so they used the wet clay next to the riverbanks and applied it to their bodies," explains Mohan Devarapalli, 32, who gives Kohinoor-themed tours in southern India. "So while [collecting] the clay, they found the diamond."
They considered it a gift from the holy river and took it to their rulers, the 12th century Hindu kings of the Kakatiya dynasty. At the time, India was full of warring states, and the kings needed to keep their diamond safe.
So they hid it in plain sight — inside the eye socket of a large golden statue of the Hindu goddess Durga, in a temple that's still in use today, on the edge of a lake in the modern-day city of Warangal. One eye was glass, the other was diamond. But they looked identical.
"One of the [goddess'] eyes was the diamond, which no one knew — except the kings — because it looked like glass. Even the priests, they would not have known it," Devarapalli says. "It was a top-secret place to hide the diamond."
It worked — for a couple of centuries, at least.
The Diamond Becomes an Object of Violent Conquest
Rumors spread about this giant diamond guarded by a goddess. And when the Kakatiya dynasty was vanquished, around the 14th century, invaders from the north pillaged all the temples in the region and captured the gemstone.
"It's the nearest thing to the ring of power in Lord of the Rings. Whenever it goes, it stirs up anger, greed, murder and bloodshed!" says historian William Dalrymple, Anand's coauthor.
Experts have confirmed from the diamond's geology that it did come from the Golconda area of southern India.
Tumblr media
The opulence of Shah Jahan's court was a marvel in 17th century India. The Mughal emperor embedded the Kohinoor diamond in the Peacock Throne, his seat of power. Pictures from History/Getty Images
"But beyond that, its history is enormously disputed," Dalrymple says. "There's almost no record of it until it's on the top of the Peacock Throne, which is built in the 1640s by Shah Jahan, who's the same guy who built the Taj Mahal."
By the 17th century, much of India had been conquered by Muslim emperors, known as the Mughals. One of them, Shah Jahan, embedded the diamond in the Peacock Throne, his seat of power — which eventually was captured by another warlord with a weakness for diamonds.
"An Iranian leader called Nadir Shah defeats the enormous Mughal army. From Iran, [the diamond] then enters the hands of Ahmad Shah Abdali, who is the founder of Afghanistan," Dalrymple explains. "So the Afghans feel equally strongly that this is their stone."
Around this time, the diamond came be known as the Kohinoor. It was also around this time when legends of curses started to mount.
"In Indian astrology, a pure man without sin — a great man — can wear a diamond without a problem. But anyone who is flawed, or any diamond which is flawed, can bring terrific bad luck," Dalrymple says. "This whole mythology of cursed diamonds actually begins in Indian astrological texts."
By the time the British arrived on the scene — first as the East India Company in the 17th century, and then as colonial rulers — the diamond was only worn by women.
That suited Queen Victoria just fine.
A Colonial Gift For Queen Victoria
In the mid-19th century, British diplomats befriended a 10-year-old Punjabi Sikh prince, the Maharaja Duleep Singh, who'd inherited the Kohinoor. They took the boy's diamond as part of an 1849 treaty marking the end of the second Anglo-Sikh war — and presented it to Queen Victoria. She wore it in a dangling bracelet, and later had a giant brooch made to hold the diamond, which she wore to sit for a famous portrait.
That loss of the Kohinoor is still felt — memorialized — in India to this day.
Tumblr media

In a sound-and-light show for tourists at the 11th century Golconda Fort in the southern city of Hyderabad, where the Kakatiya kings once ruled, the recorded voice of Bollywood's biggest star, Amitabh Bachchan, extolls the Kohinoor's brilliance and bemoans where it is today.
"The Kohinoor is still in Britain. This is just a replica," Bachchan's voice bellows in the darkness, as a giant hologram of a diamond is projected onto one of the fort's walls.
Tourists shake their heads.
"The British never apologized about anything," says Saudamini Sharma, 25, touring the fort. "They're the ones who came and tried to, you know, quote unquote 'civilize people.' But civilized people don't steal — don't take away stuff and never return it."
India's Claim To The Kohinoor
There are growing calls to return the Kohinoor. But to where? Over the centuries, it's been held in what is now India, Pakistan, Iran and Bangladesh. Even the Taliban claim it's theirs.
From the return of Jewish art looted by the Nazis to colonial artifacts in British museums, Western governments in recent years have started to address questions of ownership of archaeological and cultural heritage. A London museum recently returned the Benin Bronzes to Nigeria. Greece is asking the British Museum to return the Elgin Marbles.
Tumblr media

But the U.K. government and royals have rarely commented on the Kohinoor. In 2010, then-Prime Minister David Cameron, asked about it on a trip to India, said returning the diamond would set a dangerous precedent for British institutions.
"What tends to happen with these questions is that if you say yes to one, you suddenly find the British Museum would be empty!" Cameron told New Delhi Television. "I think I am afraid to say, to disappoint all your viewers, it is going to have to stay put."
Meanwhile, the British sell tickets (currently, about $37 for adults) to see the Kohinoor — and have done so since 1851, when the diamond was the star attraction at the World Exhibition at the Crystal Palace in London.
Tumblr media

It was for that exhibition that the British royals had the diamond cut down — lopped off at least 85 carats. The diamond had already been whittled down from its legendary coconut size over the centuries, as part of efforts to eliminate imperfections or possibly even steal parts of it. In Victorian Britain, the taste was for "brilliant" cut diamonds, which required a reshaping of the gem to refract more light.
"To Indians, it's actually a perfect, perfect metaphor for what India went through: It was reshaped and re-cut and diminished into something that suited a British palate and British needs," Anand says.
"We [in Britain] don't really learn about the history of empire! It's painted as if it's something very long ago, not really interesting — and yet it shapes the world we live in today," Anand says. "It's always glimmered in my life. If you are a British Asian, you know about the Kohinoor."
Last year, India and Pakistan celebrated 75 years since winning their freedom from the British crown. But for many, the story is incomplete as long as the British crown still has their diamond.

It's called Fleather, and it's a new material being developed as a sustainable alternative to animal leather. It is delicate and smooth to touch, like soft lamb skin leather, and its journey begins in an unexpected place – flowers.
Fleather, made by a Kanpur-based startup called Phool, is part of an emerging trend of companies producing plant- and fungi-based leather alternatives which aim to disrupt the traditional leather industry and capitalise on growing interest in "vegan" fashion.
Producing leather from animals poses several environmental hazards. It is energy- and water-intensive and the process of tanning and treating animal skin with chemicals to make leather releases toxic heavy metals that can poison water bodies. Cattle rearing to source animal skin, meanwhile, produces greenhouse gases and contributes to deforestation. Animal rights activists also condemn leather, citing inhumane conditions in slaughter houses.
Fleather, on the other hand, is made by repurposing floral waste generated in temples across India, and it is Phool's moonshot.
The startup's journey began on a cold winter morning in 2015, when Ankit Agarwal and his friend made their way to the bustling bank of the Ganges in Agarwal's hometown Kanpur for some sightseeing.
The Ganges is believed by Hindus to be the most sacred of all rivers. But the sight that greeted the duo belied this faith. Rubbish was floating on the grey, visibly-polluted water. Among the muck were tonnes of flowers – marigolds, roses and chrysanthemums – discarded by temples and worshippers. These flowers are used in Hindu rituals and are considered sacred, meaning they can't be disposed of along with other waste.
But depositing them in a river is sometimes part of the ritual and as a result flowers are dumped in water bodies daily where they leach out harmful chemicals from pesticides, and eventually decay into mulch that contaminates the water. Undeterred by the obvious pollution, devotees take ceremonial dips in the Ganges and cup their palms to take holy sips.
The sight disturbed Agarwal, and set him on a quest to find a solution to the uniquely Indian problem of temple flower waste, which he calls "the lowest hanging fruit" among pollutants. In 2017, he zeroed in on an idea to upcycle the flowers into incense sticks, and founded Phool ("flower" in Hindi).
The company is backed by the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology in Kanpur and counts Bollywood star Alia Bhatt among its investors. Every morning Phool trucks travelled around Kanpur's temples collecting the flower waste before it was dumped into the river. At the Phool factory, workers plucked the petals and set them to dry. The dried petals were then powdered and made into a dough with essential oils which female workers then rolled into incense sticks.
But it turned out that there was a far more impactful and surprising use for the flowers, as the company was soon to discover.

Substance Abuse Becoming A Trend In India
Tumblr media
Substance abuse in India is on the rise. In all areas of the country, the number of people consuming substances is increasing. But which drugs are being taken? And why?
In this blog from NuLifeLineCare Rehab, we investigate this worrying trend, and explore the most common drugs used in India.
Rapid Urbanization
The 2001 census in India showed that 28.53% of Indians lived in Urban areas. In 2017, the figure had risen to 34%, according to the World Bank. It is expected that a full 40.76% of the country’s population will live in urban areas by 2030.
The reasons for this are easy to see. Countryside dwellers in India are able to earn far more in cities than they are in the countryside. And there is far more to do in cities, meaning that people who do well after moving to an urban area can partake in a wide variety of recreational activities.
Unfortunately, urban environments also offer residents access to substances that are not common in the countryside. Drugs like heroin and crystal meth are readily available in cities in India, and often come for a low price, meaning even relatively indigent people can afford them.
Changing Cultural Values
The past few decades have seen enormous change in India. Modernization has brought with it more advanced technologies, better infrastructure and more diverse viewpoints. It is clear that there are benefits to certain advancements within India.
But changes can also bring problems. We have seen centuries old traditions eradicated in India in a short space of time. These traditions brought communities together, and losing them means that some communities are not as close-knit as they once were.
When neighborhoods become less friendly, it can become easier for people to fall through the cracks, falling victim to drug and alcohol addiction, and contributing to the increase of substance abuse in India.
Increased Stress
Modernity has also brought with it increased levels of stress for Indian people. The poor of India must continue to work hard to sustain themselves, with the middle class and upper classes now working hard to maintain outward appearances of success.
Of course, there is nothing wrong with hard work to attain a good standard of living, but when life revolves around material goods, happiness levels tend to go down.
The increased stress that comes from excessive work can be too much for some people, causing them to use substances to calm their nerves. Using drugs and alcohol as a coping mechanism in this way is a recipe for disaster, as addiction can quickly become a problem.
Breakdown Of Nuclear Family
The family unit is still an integral part of Indian culture, but ties in some families are not quite as close as they once were. In the past, these ties prevented some people from falling victim to substance abuse in India. Families experiencing breakdown may contribute towards the rise of drug or alcohol addiction rates.
Most Common Drugs Used In India
Now we have looked at why substance abuse in India is on a rise, let’s take a look at some of the most popular drugs used within the country. All of these drugs can be harmful and cause addiction.
Cannabis
Cannabis has a long history of use in India. Holy people use it to commune with God, ayurvedic medicines call upon it for healing, and it is even said that Shiva uses cannabis.
This leads many Indian people to believe that cannabis is harmless. The sad reality is that cannabis can cause enormous mental health problems, and can also be addictive.
Opioids
Opioids are another of the most common drugs used in India. The most popular opioids are opium and heroin. Both of these drugs produce a feeling of ease when they are taken. While opium is usually smoked, it can also be eaten. Heroin, on the other hand, is usually either smoked, snorted or injected.
Heroin is a processed form of opium. It is significantly stronger than opium, which means that it is both easier to get hooked on and to overdose on.
The largest numbers of heroin users are found in Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, West Bengal, Bihar and Manipur, though heroin users are now seen in every state in India.
Crystal Meth
While meth is currently used by far less people in India than heroin, its use is on the increase. This powerful drug can be made relatively simply using ingredients that can be bought in a pharmacy.
Drug syndicates in India produce vast quantities of meth regularly, and have now made India one of the leading countries for crystal meth production in the world.
This industrial scale production means meth is very cheap in India, allowing even those from impoverished backgrounds to afford it.
Crystal meth gives users feelings of alertness and euphoria, and can enable people to stay awake for days without the need to sleep. It is common for people in India to use crystal meth to work hard for long periods of time without rest.
Meth is also used recreationally, though anyone doing this is playing with fire, as meth is incredibly addictive, and can cause serious harm to the body and mind.
Cocaine
Cocaine is far more expensive than the other drugs on this list, and costs around 7000 rupees per gram. While the rest of the drugs in this list are either produced in India or in a neighboring country, cocaine is manufactured only in South American countries, which adds to its cost.
Cocaine use is becoming more common for people in the upper class, and as a result rich indian people are becoming addicted to cocaine. Drug addiction affects everyone, regardless of socioeconomic background, religion, ethnicity or sex.
Alcohol
The most commonly used drug in India, and also one of the most harmful. Until a few decades ago alcohol use was frowned upon in the country. It is now far more socially acceptable. And while there are some states where alcohol use is forbidden, there are pubs and clubs in the vast majority of India cities.
While some people can go out for a few beers and go home, a percentage of the population is unable to regulate their drinking, and are drawn to drink excessively each time they drink alcohol. Many of these people ultimately end up with severe alcohol problems.
Chronic alcohol abuse can cause cirrhosis of the liver, among a vast number of other physical and mental ailments. And addiction to alcohol can be particularly tricky to deal with, due to alcohol’s ubiquitous nature.
Even when someone does not succumb to the health problems caused by chronic alcohol abuse, drinking alcohol can cause problems with the law and the breakdown of relationships.

Tumblr media
Although Amritsar is the holiest city for Sikh pilgrims, this stunning location in Punjab is visited by visitors of all faiths and interests. Akal Takht, Jallianwala Bagh, Gobindgarh Fort, and the Golden Temple are among the well-liked tourist destinations in Amritsar. The Golden Temple and other historic buildings may be found in the Old City, which lies south of Amritsar station. On the other hand, the city’s north side is home to upscale dining establishments, lodging facilities, open-air residential areas, and other dazzling examples of the modern-day prosperity of the city. Let’s examine each of the Amritsar’s sites of interest in more detail:
The Golden Temple, one of India’s most magnificent temples and the most important sacred landmark for Sikhs, is certainly the main attraction of any Amritsar tourist tour. One of the main attractions in Amritsar is the Golden Temple, additionally referred to as Darbar Sahib or Shri Harmandir Sahib. Every day from 6 am to 2 am, the temple complex is open, allowing guests to take in the beautiful evening reflections in Amrit Sarovar.
There is a narrow bridge that leads to the two-story building in the center of the holy pool. After bathing in the marked spots of the pool, pilgrims can bow their heads in the temple. The Central Sikh Museum here displays a gallery of paintings illustrating stories of martyred Sikh leaders. There is also a well-known langar (dining hall) in the Golden Temple where complimentary meals are provided to all guests 24/7.
Jallianwala Bagh is one of the most well-known tourist destinations in Amritsar. This 6.5-acre area, which is five minutes’ walk from the Golden Temple, is the location of the legendary Baisakhi massacre that took place in Amritsar in 1919. The bullet holes on the walls are still visible to tourists today. Gobindgarh Fort, one of the latest destinations in Amritsar, is located in the center of the city and first welcomed tourists in 2017.
After their tour in Amritsar, visitors can continue 32 kilometers west to the  Wagah town. The Indian Border Security Force (BSF) and the Pakistani Rangers conduct the Wagah border ceremonial every evening for two hours at the border gate. About 35 kilometers from Amritsar lies the historical site of Pul Kanjri, where buildings including a mosque, temple, and pond were constructed during the reign of Maharaja Ranjit Singh.
Lal Devi, a saint, is the subject of the Hindu cave temple Mata Temple. There is also another center of devotion next to the Lohgarh gate, named Durgiana Temple or Sitla Mandir. Additionally constructed in the middle of a medium-sized lake, it echoes the design of the Golden Temple. More well-liked tourist destinations in Amritsar include the Partition Museum, the Summer Palace of Maharaja Ranjit Singh in Ram Bagh Park, the Maharaja Ranjit Singh Panorama, and Ram Tirth.

General meetings were conducted there, and numerous significant decisions were made. Out of the five takhts, the oldest is the Akal Takht located in Amritsar.

History of Akal Takht Sahib:
The construction was started by Shri Guru Hargobind in 1606. This foundation was established by the sixth Sikh Guru with the intention of establishing a focal point for the administration of justice and the discussion of temporal matters. After the building was finished, Guru Sahib presented two swords, one representing temporal authority and the other representing spiritual authority.

Gobindgarh Fort history
The history of Gobindgarh Fort began with the start of construction in 1760. The 258-year-old fort was first held by the Misl Clan before being taken in 1809 by Maharaja Ranjit Singh, the powerful ruler of Punjab. In honor of the 10th Sikh Guru, Shri Guru Gobind Singh, he dubbed the fort “Gobindgarh.” The British eventually conquered the fort in 1849 following the Second Anglo-Sikh War.
After independence, Gobindgarh Fort was guarded by the Indian Army until 2006. At that point, the Indian government acknowledged the fort’s historical significance and gave the Punjab government authority to restore it.
Public access was granted and the Gobindgarh Fort in Amritsar was designated as a historical monument. A must-see is this medieval fort, renowned for its amazing live shows including the Spirit of Punjab live show, Kanda Boldiyan Ne (Light and Sound show), and 7-D sher-e-punjab (Lion-of-Punjab) on Maharaja Ranjit Singh.

Jallianwala Bagh Massacre
One of India’s most significant historical sites is Jallianwala Bagh. Jallianwala Bagh, which is situated in the holy city of Amritsar, is just a short walk from the famous Harmandir Sahib/Golden Temple. The massacre at Jallianwala Bagh happened on April 13, 1919. Hundreds of people were killed and numerous others were injured when the British soldiers opened fire on a large gathering of unarmed Indians at Jallianwala Bagh in Amritsar. Even after a century has passed since the Jallianwala Bagh Massacre, millions of Indians are still deeply affected by the horrifying event. This massacre was a turning point in Indian history and led to many Satyagrahis movement. The Jallianwala Bagh Massacre shook the entire country and many people came out to participate in the freedom fight.
When India was ruled by the British in 1919, Jallianwala Bagh Amritsar began to have a tragic history. On April 13, Vaisakhi, the birth of Khalsa, was observed. Thousands of Sikhs, Hindus, and Muslims flocked to the Jallianwala Bagh to remember the day that Shri Guru Gobind Singh established the Khalsa Panth. None of the people that they were soon to become victims of one of the most cruel mascaras in the history of mankind.
Facts About Jallianwala Bagh Massacre
On the day of the massacre, many people gathered at Jallianwala Bagh to celebrate Baisakhi, one of the most important festivals in Punjab. The one escape in the bagh was blocked during the raid, resulting in a large number of casualties.  It is also said that firings stopped only after the British army ran out of ammunition. Another name for the Jallianwala Bagh Massacre is the Amritsar Massacre.

In addition to acting as the municipal center, this location is significant for Sikh pilgrimages. With a circumference of around 1.5 kilometers, the sarovar (pond) is greater than the one at the Golden Temple in Amritsar.

Golden Temple in Amritsar
The Golden Temple, also called Sri Harmandir Sahib, is a highly revered Sikh shrine that represents human brotherhood and equality. The gurudwara emphasizes the principles of the Sikhs and symbolizes their unique heritage and identity. The Sikh text, Sri Guru Granth Sahib, was originally deposited at Sri Harmandir Sahib on August 16, 1604, following its compilation. Irrespective of their caste, anybody can find spiritual comfort and religious fulfillment at this calming location. The Central Sikh Museum, Har ki Pauri, and the Monument of Sikh Victory on Delhi are the tourist sites located within the Golden Temple Complex.

History of the Golden Temple:
Like the temple itself, it is interesting. The preparations to excavate a holy tank and construct a town settlement in the region were initiated by the third Guru Sahib in 1570. Inspired by his vision, the fifth Guru Sahib started work on a central site of worship in 1588. The following few decades saw multiple attacks on the Punjab Golden Temple, but the damage was eventually repaired. The temple compound was expanded by the sixth Guru Sahib. Maharaja Ranjit Singh kindly finished the gurudwara’s gold plating in 1830, which allowed him to decorate it out. It goes without saying that the history of the Amritsar Golden Temple is as golden as the temple.
Langar Sewa at Golden Temple:
At Harmandir Sahib, the vegetarian food offered at langar sewa consists of rotis, rice, daal, a vegetable dish, and kheer. Every day, the Golden Temple provides services to almost fifty thousand individuals. Around 5,000 people can be served at once by the temple.
Facts About Golden Temple:
It is believed that Lord Buddha once meditated at the Golden Temple, a sacred site. The place is open to all caste, religion, and creed. Golden Temple has the biggest and largest free kitchen in the entire world.

Durgiana Temple in Amritsar
The Durgiana Temple, also called the Laxmi Narayan Temple, is one of the most significant Hindu temples and is situated in Punjab’s Amritsar area. The Hindu goddess Durga is the source of the name of Durgiana Mandir, where idols of Lord Vishnu, Goddess Laxmi, and Goddess Durga are also worshipped.
The history of the Durgiana temple began in 1921 when Guru Harsai Mal Kapoor ordered its construction. Inspired by the captivating architectural style of the Golden Temple, a well-known Sikh shrine, this new temple was constructed. Durgiana Temple, like the Golden Temple, is situated in the centre of a lake. Access to the main temple area is provided via a bridge that is constructed across the lake and resembles the Golden Temple bridge. The structure of the dome and the canopies also resembles that of the Golden Temple. After the construction of the temple was completed, Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya inaugurated the auspicious temple by himself.
In 2013, renovations were also made to the Durgiana Temple in Amritsar. The renovation plan included for adding extra outdoor theatre space, a large parking lot, and additional worship spaces.
Durgiana Temple is a must-visit place for pilgrims, and spiritual seekers, during their visit to Amritsar.
The people of the city are extremely sociable and show great hospitality. For Budget Hotels in Amritsar, you can visit Hotel Global Inn Amritsar by T&G Hotels and Resorts for your comfortable stay.

I think it's time for me to say something. Oh, how long we have come, if we start counting from 2016/2017 when I started blogging. To think it was all part of a plan, conceived either on another planet or in an absolute timelessness. I'm not sure if I really want to try this, but I think I should. Lately I have been learning Malay from Chatgpt (before this, there was a period I was learning Bahasa Indonesia on Duolingo but I kept lapsing; I am still on rookie level.) So I want to see how much I can communicate without resorting to consultation (the psychics shall bear witness). For those not familiar with the language, don't worry, the text in Malay is outside of the message proper which I will resume afterwards.
I can either have a message in mind and insert in English where my vocabulary lacks, or use my limitation goodly.
I think that's it. Okay let's resume.
I should think you guys were aware of my five chairs way before I was, like way way before, as soon as the psychics started entering the scene. While I could only piece things out by logic. And that's where the most beautiful thing happens.
How, oh how, could I have known that my wanking has such glorious significance?
The progression of things made it clear. First there was a significant change in my wanking system, like a leap in the pleasure engagement, and my reasoning was the month long abstinence allowed the hold (jing) to cause TTR to the next level, perhaps a certain necessity of a certain stage. Then the glimpse of us caused TTR on the left side where the heart almost is, for there was heart stuff indeed, and my wanking changed again, from fast to evenly paced. TTR and wank, they are related. And then I thought back to the time I went to India. Where every morning we engaged in ritual to bathe Shiva's lingam (symbol of penis, an expression of the creative force of nature, like Yang).
Perhaps things were already being moved back then, or even way before. But one thing is clear, that there is a logic in the progression means there is something, somewhere, we are moving towards. In fact, TTR itself already entails a progression where TTR conclude is an inevitability. And perhaps all that triggering has been for TTR progression.
I am well aware that there are some people who read this differently. I'm a bit baffled initially because I don't see the link. Whether or not there's a five chairs shouldn't affect your belief systems. But I have been led to know this is not the case for some people. Perhaps five chairs is considered a solid miracle, as compared to like levitation which I assume Satan can do, some kind of wow the crowd frivolous stuff. I really don't know. Yet for a while many thought I was Satan even when knowing I was five chairs. Perhaps many still do. But for those who don't now, perhaps your logic being Satan can be five chairs but Satan will not cry for anyone, I can only say, based on what I feel and know, you can always read your holy books differently so that what I do and what I am is not related to what you believe in.
Because if you don't, you will be devastated eventually.
Perhaps you read all that movement and progression as God's will to engage in testing, for a test can only be when things are made compelling. And you have faith that the test will be passed, for it is God's will.
If the test is sexual intercourse, do you know how easy it is for me to purposely fail the test just to prove you wrong. I stay just minutes away from the red light district. And I'm agnostic. I don't yet even have a meaningful concept what God can mean. It's a distant concept.
See, if it is God's will, He doesn't have to involve somebody special. He just have to make me walk through the red light district at night when I am damn lustful and when I have just enough money for a cheap fuck. Things just have to be made compelling. How is involving somebody over in another country where I will probably not visit for many good years to come—until maybe I'm 100 or so when my pension of the escalating kind will get me financial buoyancy— a meaningful expression of such a will?
And if the test is about starting a family, like getting married and living together as an exclusive couple, one would think that God in trying to make things compelling would allow dating and interaction so that when the time comes for marriage, boom, test passed. How is having this offbeat, stranger to stranger, thingy a compelling part of the test? No normal relationship can be had without interaction, like even phone or message interaction can still be counted as LDR. So, how is this arrangement with this albeit adorable and cheeky girl a compelling part of any test?

Sri Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya College of Arts and Science, Coimbatore Wanted Assistant Professor
Sri Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya College of Arts and Science, Coimbatore Wanted Assistant Professor
About: Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya, Coimbatore (a branch of Belur Mutt and Ramakrishna Mutt, Howrah, West Bengal). The Vidyalaya is located 19 miles from Coimbatore on the Ooty highway in a peaceful 300-acre setting. Avinashilingam Institute was founded. TS Avinashilingam invested Rs. 5.75 and a Harijan child in 1930. It was a humble start for his big educational and spiritual complex with twenty wings. One thing inspired him to take that risk. Dr. T. S. Avinashilingam met Swami Sivananda, a disciple of Lord Sri Ramakrishna's other disciple, Swami Vivekananda, at the college. Swami Sivananda learned the need of education for India's restoration from Swami Vivekananda. Dr. Avinashilingam later said Swami Shivananda's "holy touch" gave him the strength and vision for his education endeavor. In 1934, father of the nation Mahatma Gandhi placed the Vidyalaya's foundation stone and encouraged pupils to be truthful nationalists. The Vidyalaya joined Ramakrishna Mission the same year.
