I'm reading "Until August", the last bit of novel that Gabriel Garcia Marquez worked on before he died. It's not his best (he wrote it while his memory and metal abilities were fading) but it still has some very good parts.

"Until August" is the story of a happily married woman who, every August 16th, visits her mother's grave and sleeps with a different man. One encounter was rather interesting in its description:

Okay, nice alluring man, showing her authority and guiding the date, not too bad not too bad. Ana is 47, this man "not over 30".

Young man, dressed a little too well. The line "Everything about him was false as his manners, but his feverish eyes looked eager for compassion" is interesting. He's playing at romance but for what end?

Later on Ana is in her room and he comes to her, even though she said no:

I like "She went along with the game, not as herself but as the protagonist of her own narrative". That's all these one night stands have been, an exciting lively side story to her own life. So who is this man who is playing along with *her*? We still don't know.

Later on, they leave the hotel and go to the man's van to watch the eclipse. But there is no eclipse, she knows this, she only wants sex. And he obliges, taking as much from her as she wants. "The inconceivable pleasure of brute force subjugated by tenderness".

But that revelation at the end.

Also, about that, funny story, I found out about FNAF from a game known as ✨Animal Jam.✨ Had I not been coaxed to watch the trailer for the first game from random players on AJ and my friend the next year actually getting me into FNAF via his drawing of the Marionette during a break in our primary school concert lmao, I wouldn't have grown up and had such a tight bond with this franchise.

If you count little 10 yr me watching the first FNAF trailer when it released instead of 11-12 year old me getting properly into the series around FNAF 3 -> FNAF 4 Halloween Edition, then I've been with FNAF for 10 years this year... Or 9 if you rather choose the other option.

Nevertheless, I'm shocked It's progressed as much as it has in the 10 years it's been around. I'm grateful for the newcomers loving the series I grew up with and the oldies who have been around since the start. I hope FNAF lasts for longer and I hope I can be apart of this for a long while GAH

I am calling the counselling services tomorrow, I have had enough.

Ok so like I am not out to people at my uni. And so they all consider me a woman. But me in my little trans brain, I didn’t think that interacting with male colleagues/making cis male friends would come with implications. So now I have a friend, and were pretty close. And with him, of course, I acted like I would with any other friends. But now things are getting weird and its making me feel really uncomfortable (and dysphoric). I don’t want to flat out ask him like “hey, do you have feelings for me? Because I don’t have feelings for you and we’re just friends,” because I don’t want to seem conceited or something. Moreover, though I know he’s pretty supportive of the LGBTQ community, I’m afraid to come out to him. If he takes it the wrong way he could out me to my professors, my other colleagues, etc... So right now I do my best to avoid hanging out with him as much as possible. I know its not the right thing to do, but while I figure out a solution its the best I can do. I know its wrong, I know its a terrible thing to do. I just don’t know what else to do but run. 

Also to clarify, I’m not going to counselling bc of “boy problems,” I’m going to counselling because dysphoria and social anxiety have severely impacted my life and my relationships with various people in a very negative way in the past few months and I cannot take it anymore.

so our story starts a few months ago when i began frantically dming my oldest nicologist friend @colors-of-feeling if she remembered this video. I had only half remembered recollections at this point, and i really only remembered the video because it looks so much like a casting couch porn intro. I know I screenshot it but I went through my gallery and couldn't find it. i knew I had seen it a very long time ago and care is one of my first mutuals, so anything nico I've seen she's seen. she doesn't rmbr 😓

now im like holy shit did i make it up. still i plead care to turn her archive public so i can go through it. no luck. i went through my own archive, even though i know I didn't reblog it because it had been a youtube link instead of the video. and i regretted it so bad, because i know that low quality few hundred or thousand views videos from 2000s is basically lost footage because youtubes search is basically incomprehensible. I also went through the archives of other blogs that nico posted back in 2021 for any sign that I didn't just project and Imagine it. no luck.

feeling defeated i go to my final hope, the nicologist of all nicologists @distantlaughter... with only half baked and increasingly hysterical descriptors "umm its like a casting couch video! a boat! but the boat is parked 🤔 maybe the masseuse had pigtails" i rambled, normally like a normal person.

ren the absolute darling immediately pops up with a video of shirtless nico get massaged. its not.

finally. FINALLY. ren dms me like 10 seconds of this video hidden in a nico rosberg compilation fan video that is even in worse quality. but it's this video!!!!!! it EXISTS!!! im not crazy....... but that 3 pixel collage was proof that it was real, but alas not post worthy. There was an RTL logo in the corner so in one final futile search, we searched RTL archives which unfortunately did not go far enough. We were doing literal detective work like from the 10 seconds of the fanvid we concluded it was like, probably an RTL monaco promo video hence the coastline and the boat, and given nico's hair length it must be williams (or 2010 merc). but nothing further than that. still ren is the absolute goat nicologist who figured it out from just my descriptions alone 🙏🙏🙏

with that I ended my search, knowing it was real at least, even if it wasn't the full video.

today i got a storage full notification. so I started frantically deleting random videos I had on my phone from years. and buried in august 9, 2022 almost exactly TWO years ago . was 5 seconds of this video and the when the screen recording closed you could see it was from a video called Dr. Dot.

this time im posting the video, im also going to ask @argentinagp to gif it so this buried, almost lost footage less than 1k youtube video can get a second life again, and so we can all enjoy weird late 2000s whoring drivers out. ❤️

August 2nd. The day you finally met her.

It all began as you walked through the quad, approaching the athletic building to prepare for your first day of pre-season. You quickly noticed that Paige and the basketball team had also been on campus before the start of classes later that month. "God she's even more gorgeous in person," you thought to yourself as you saw her and KK making a TikTok in the quad. You couldn't help but stare at the way she moved, her toned arms distracting you from your walk to your destination. "Lock in", you couldn't let her see you admiring her and her muscles from afar, so you broke your long-lasting glance towards her and moved quickly towards the doors of the athletic building.

Your first practice of pre-season went well that day, but you couldn't stop thinking about Paige. Even some of your new teammates noticed your dazed and confused state and decided to question you.

"Y/N what's on your mind?"

"You doing okay?"

The questions rang through your head. You've been caught. You tried to play it off nonchalantly, "Oh it's nothing, just didn't get much sleep last night," you lied.

Maria, your roommate/teammate didn't buy it for a second. However, she decided to keep it quiet until you got into a more private setting. On the walk back to your dorm, in the same area where you saw KK and Paige earlier, she finally broke the silence. "So what was up with your distant attitude earlier?", she pried. Your eyes widened as she brought it back up. You gulp before beginning in the form of a whisper, "Maria, I'm serious you can't say anything okay?". She nods in return. You look around before continuing, "So there may or may not be this girl..." you gush. "It's Paige Bueckers, you know the school's star basketball player? I mean I haven't met her but she's just so... I don't know. I saw her earlier and couldn't help but stare. I'm not sure if she saw me but I'm scared she thought I was some sort of lurker." Maria takes this in and nods, but before she can say anything she's interrupted by a blonde girl, one you quickly recognize as the girl you'd been crushing on all summer. She jogs up to you both from behind, likely emerging from the athletics building as well. "Hey, did one of you happen to misplace this water bottle?" She questions. "Holy shit. Where did she come from? Did she hear all of that?", your mind races as you make eye contact with Paige, staring at her blankly. "Hello? Can you hear me?" She begins to get impatient and you snap out of your daze. "Oh...yeah I think that may be mine actually...sorry that you had to go on a hunt to find its owner." You reply, apologetically. "Yeah, well I figured it was an athlete's since there's, like, no one on campus yet other than people here for pre-season." She explains, extending the water bottle towards you. You quickly make eye contact with Maria before reaching out your own hand to grab it from Paige. As you grab the bottle, your hands graze hers and you can't help but anxiously meet her eyes. "Seriously, thank you so much, I don't know what I would've done in practice tomorrow without this." You awkwardly laugh. "Hey, no problem. I don't have any issue looking out for a freshie." She says, winking at you. The wink from the sophomore caused you to melt. You'd definitely replay this moment in your mind for the rest of the night, maybe even the rest of the week.

hi hey holy fuck i'm done with this. I tried to render for the first time following a "15 minute" tutorial and my noob ass turned it into a 3 hour learning experience. But now I have Narinder's reference for The Risen Lamb and the Fallen God! Rambles under readmore

SO I BARELY DRAW because I started learning how to draw like... May of last year, and then went bonkers over the summer making lots of progress and once the school year started in august I dropped it to focus on writing... and have drawn basically 1 thing in between then and now. Anyway. Last week I remembered, oh yeah, I used to draw sometimes. And suddenly had an all consuming urge to practice again.

And you know what? I forgot how fucking FUN drawing is. I take it much less seriously than I do my writing so my technique for now is pretty much "go ham and try a bunch of shit because you're getting practice and having fun with it anyway". and it IS fun until I try to do a specific thing and can't figure out how so thanks to those who tuned in to my stream tonight to see me push through the frustrating part of finishing this LMAO. uh according to the krita file this took me 13 and a half hours

If you didn't catch it a while back, the one thing I drew during my kinda-art-hiatus was my Lambert reference! Normal outfit, casual outfit (that they sometimes wear while off-duty, usually when visiting Ratau or just hanging out alone), and wedding outfit ^^

...Which means now that I have my narilamb references I can commission my friends. i have a few people who i already plan to open my wallet for.
