so a Yellowjackets AU where mari says something to get herself kicked out of the cabin, and she dies of exposure and gets eaten at the bachanalian banquet instead of Jackie, who LIVES, who's there at Shauna's side when she goes into labor, stroking her hair and letting Shauna squeeze her hand hard enough to sprain her fingers, who keeps Shauna calm enough she has a (comparatively!!!!!!) easier delivery, who is the reason the(ir) baby lives.

who finally, after months of feeling adrift and useless because she’s not a hunter or a butcher or a prophet or a captain (anymore) finds her purpose in the wilderness. who painstaking sews patchwork baby onesies and cloth diapers from the girls' spare clothes (Offerings, not donations). who makes a baby sling from animal pelts and backpack straps. who makes a rattle from sticks and pinecones and some light blue pebbles Jackie found by the lake one day and saved. who makes sure the cabin stays warm and clean for Luke Dylan (from 90210--they couldn't decide whether to go with the actor or the character).

who builds them another shelter from blankets and animal hides after the cabin burns down. who keeps shauna and their baby warm through that first terrible winter and the one that followed.

and one day in 1998, Canadian forest rangers happen upon that American high school soccer team that went missing 2 years back. they find a group of starving teens and a baby, a little over a year old, two of the girls wrapped around him--and each other

and when the rescue team tries to separate them the one with tangled, golden brown hair bears her teeth and Growls

ok we know Nightmare plays Animal Crossing but what would his opinion on Stardew Valley be?

I think his opinion would be “meh.” It is cute and there is some collecting involved but it’s all pixels, farms aren’t interesting to him, and the dating aspect Killer explained made him roll his eyelight. He doesn’t need or want a virtual spouse.

#i looooved Harvest Moon for the Super Nintendo.#I played it so much #I read about it in a Nintendo power magazine and was all set on buying it #but they stores near me never got it on the release day.#found my copy in a game stop on a trip to my grandma’s house #she didn’t have a Super Nintendo and her TV was old… so I had to wait to play it a week before we went home.#I read the instruction manual cover to cover every day in anticipation #I knew how to play that game like I had been playing it all my life when I turned it on #played it the very next day after we got home #I was never an early riser but I got up that day before everyone else and played all day…#then I got my mom into it X3 #basically #I think I’d like Stardew Valley if I ever get around to playing it #since I loved Harvest Moon so much #and I heard it was like the original Harvest Moons.#the first few when the focus was your farm and life #what Nightmare likes most about Animal Crossing is the collection aspect of it.#you collect for the museum fossils n bugs n fishe #you collect furniture n floors n wall styles #heck #you even collect clothing and pictures of residents when they move #that is what he enjoys #collecting #flowers #forgot that you collect those #and yes #he will make sure to hire Dust to go through and water the flowers for him to make sure he has at least one of each color.#but he is a busy skeleton and forgets at times #he does need someone to either remind him to water the flowers or do it for him #and he trusts Dust to not accidentally run through his roses.

#also in that vein #the one roommate that I did know ahead of time—#—ok so like for context I bought all the furniture in my room from the previous occupant #and I mentioned in passing that the only other thing I was going to look for was a bookshelf #bc I brought all my books obviously #and anyway when I got home from work she was leaving on another errand #and then text me like oh I'm looking for a bookshelf for you #and then went to ANOthER STORE bc they didn't have any at the first one #and was asking me size and color and stuff #anyway they didn't have the size that I wanted so I said it was fine to just get a smaller one #bc like! I didn't want to be too picky she was going out of her way #and ofc I would just venmo her for it except I don't know her venmo yet #and I can't ask things like a normal person #anyway still a little stressed out by the whole thing like that was literally SO nice of her #and now I just have this one which is fine and I owe her 25 dollars #and also I was so tired by the time I came home and made dinner I just wanted to lie facedown and think of nothing #but instead I had to make furniture decisions and also feel guilty #but yes anyway they are being very nice to me but I am still stressed #the floors are creaky and every time I'm like walking around I feel so exposed it's so loud and I have this stupid need to make no noise
