in the candy timeline, they lost the embodiment of heart, the aspect of the soul. they lose their sense of self, becoming more and more detached from who they are as a person

i have not read hs2!! i read the epilogues when they first released. they mostly didn't tickle my fancy (i like the art/visual storytelling nature of original homestuck), but i think they had some cute moments, case in point:

Dirk Striders punishment for being mildly irritating sometimes in the comic is to be subject to the distortion of his identity in the Epilogues no other can comprehend. To simply only find himself as a parody of himself… To have his greatest fears for himself be shown as his deepest motivations… or maybe to be drawn sexy-style by some twitter artist with the caption “why he tits so big”.
